    Lazy natural here 🙋🏾‍♀️ I genuinely love having my hair weighed down because that means I get more time before I need to moisturise again. It's a win-win in my books! 🙂

      I completely agree. I’m a wash n go natural and my best days are when my hair is big and fluffy but I like to layer my hair with heavy products to keep it moisturized longer. It leaves me with less tangles and makes my wash days a lot easier

    I agree. And I find that a lot of naturals with "fine hair" avoid "weighing" the hair down, but I have fine + low density + 4c hair strands and my hair LOVES to be coated with shea butter. I love weighing my hair down and I found it thrives so much this way.

    I LOVE weighing my hair down with heavy products. For me heavy products don’t elongate my hair, but it does make it super defined and smooth. However, if I stretch my hair when it’s weighed down, it gets so straight. And when it’s stretched, it lasts a lot longer than if I were to use a heating tool.
    I can never go back. My hair loves the moisture! ❤

    Great tips as usual. You are the first person that made me know about the weighing down of type 4 hair with butters. I will incorporate it into my routine once I grow my hair to the desired length and start wearing it out often. I'm almost there.🤗

    Yes weighting the hair down at the very ends it's my best technique to clumping the ends in coils to minimize single strand knots. I may use a heavy curling cream or shea butter mix or both.

    I wash my hair every 2 weeks and have learned that my hair is thriving on something I have recently changed in my regime.. I blow dry my hair with a little bit of olive oil in it.. THEN Bantu knots .. till my hair tells me it wants to be twisted which is days later.. or bantu in different sizes! My hair is thriving! I do not know how to cornrow ☹️I have 3C 4A. KEEP YOUR HAIR MOISTURIZED. I only use the heat every 28 days for blow drying.. makes caring for your hair so much easier. Clarify your hair when you wash your hair!!! The use a moisturizing shampoo and moisturizing conditioner… then deep conditioner.. THEN blow dry.. then Bantu till your next wash.. Bantu as needed.

    I like to work in moisturizing products into my hair then use olive oil to seal. Wearing my hair down isn't an issue for me at this time. But I do like it when my cuticles are laid and the ends clups together. Makes the hair look so much better.
    Love your hoodie 💚

    My hair literally drinks product. If my scalp wasn't so fussy about wanting to be washed at least 1x a week I could wear it in a bun all the time just using more and more butter to keep it smooth.

The clumping, the tendrils I’ve heard Naturally High call them, are beautiful. And you’re right, there really is strength in numbers until you’re ready to pull those shed hairs out. Well, I have actually heard a lot of professionals on this platform as well as even from mere comments that weighed down hair is not really beneficial in the long term. It might feel great now but eventually it weighs the hair down to extent that it places stress on the cuticles, leading to splitting in the long run. Of course the effects may not be too noticeable since the hair is always "soaked" in products for lack of a better term, especially for finer strand haired individual, and once you decide to clarify your hair properly that is when you actually feel the real state of your hair. I'm all for doing what people choose to do with their hair, but as for me I wouldn't do that because I don't like the long term effects of it. I don't intend to be rude or disrespectful if I'm coming off as such, I just thought I should share my thoughts concerning the topic🙏. Love you Coily diaries 💕🥺.

      I can't imagine butters, oils and gel weighing down your hair strands "to the extent that it places stress on the cuticles." That seems highly unlikely. Can you source a link to one of the professionals explaining that products weigh down your hair to the extent that it places stress??? 🤷‍♀️

    • @mystiquecoils5389
      @mystiquecoils5389 3 місяці тому

      @@pragooutube hi dear, I don't know if I can place a link here, but of course I can give you the name of the professionals so that at least you can look her up. I think her name is cyn doll. She's actually a cosmetologist and a research scientist💕.

    • @CoilyDiaries
      @CoilyDiaries  3 місяці тому +3

      not offensive at all! I love hearing different view points. thing is, everything you do to your hair will cause some level of wear and tear. even the flat ironing Cyn Doll advocates for will have consequences. I don’t believe the weighing down is in such a drastic way to actually stress the cuticle but always do what you feel comfortable with!🙏🏽
