I've only been on 4 cruises (so far) 2 with Royal Carribean and 2 with Oceania and for me it will be Oceania all the way! I love the way I feel pampered and catered to. I appreciate not having to waiti in line, the meals were all Exceptinal and the service truly remarkable. While the shows are not the same calibre as RC, for me the truly relaxed feel on Oceania is worth the trade off. BTW , as a Canadian who isn't a fan of the cold, I have never wanted to go to Alaska. but you've got me looking into Last Minute Oceania Alaska Cruises for this season!!
Oceania is our cruise line of choice. We like it because there are rarely any children on board. However, we did a cruise over Christmas where there were many multigenerational families, and there were several special activities for the children. It was so much fun and really put us in the Christmas spirit. We haven't been on the Regatta since it was refurbished, and it looks beautiful.

We did 35 days on Regatta and round the showers very SMALL, unless you were in a penthouse they were the same size regardless of your category. Personally, we wouldn’t go on Regatta again (found decor very old fashion) BUT we would definitely sail on Oceania again and we are doing 2 cruises on Vista next month.

We are doing Oceania is the fall. We were big fans of the Pacific Princess and were sad when it was sold. The R class ships are so comfortable, very traditional cruising.

Hey there.. I’ll never sail them again.. I was on the Regatta end of Feb early March 2023 Sydney to South Pacific (Tahiti end port) we were in a PH1 Cabin.. (Bucket List Trip).. Don’t get me wrong.. the ship was beautiful, clean and well maintained.. the daily staff (those you deal with on a day to day basis) are amazing.. BUT and a BIG but.. The food is highly repetitive and NOT Consistent to the Extreme.. the menu repeated every 7 days.. one time you would try it and it was absolutely amazing, next time you order it you can’t even eat it.. it’s so different and so bad.. had this happen with Steak, French Onion Soup, Roast Beef etc. etc.. doesn’t matter if it’s a specialty restaurant or regular dinning.. Same thing.. nothing is consistent. Customer service is NON EXISTENT literally.. NON EXISTENT .. you’d think at this price point the Customer Service would have your back on Oceania’s own claims for cruising.. Nope.. I went to the front desk and from the moment I said HI the agent was bothered that I disturbed her (she was on facebook), it just went down hill from there. Oceania NON Customer Service reached out to us 9 month’s after the cruise and offered a 500.00 future cruise credit.. I can’t justify using it.. the Cabin cost in the 10’s of thousands they offer 500.00.. and no apology for the NON Existent Customer Service.. So if you’re not fussy with your food (no matter that you paid for 5 star dinning) and you never need to use Customer Service.. I’m sure you’ll have an amazing cruise.. but if these things matter to you. Like they do for me.. book Celebrity Retreat it’s much cheaper and oh so so so much better..
What activities did your son do while on board? My son is a 15 year old foodie but also don’t want him to be too bored
He would play ping pong for hours, and swim. But the ports were the most fun. In our sailing there were no other kids.
This is great! Will you do a full review of your disembarkation in Vancouver? You mentioned that it is Norwegians mid range (premium) ship. Would the food be at all comparable to any other "premium" brands food.
Hey! We walked RIGHT off the ship, through customs and to our bus transfer - we carried our own luggage so avoided crowds. Off the ship before 8am!
@@CruiseTipsTV That is awesome! I really was disappointed with the new boarding process they used last year, but love Vancouver. I had started looking at a few itineraries that drop off there. So great to hear it is an easy process. Hope it was a wonderful vacation for all of you.
Oceania is pronounced "Oh she an ee a", there is an i two letters from the end of Oceania

@@CruiseTipsTV Thanks however I just finished a 10 day cruise with them and all the personnel who worked for the company pronounced it with the IA. Captain, officers, sales people, etc. Not sure why the ad did not. I also thought it wasn't pronounced until I spent time on the ship listening to the crew.

Glad you had a good cruise! Was the total opposite for us on Regatta. The staff said "Oh-she-on-uh" or "Oh-She-ANN-uh". Kinda funny- reminds me of Perfect Day at Coco Cay! LOL!

Absolutely. In fact, we're already looking at Asia itineraries with Oceania. We love small ships, and our cruises on smaller ships have been among our favorites. We may choose a shorter itinerary though, if we cruised with our son.
Sorry, call me a nit picker but I find it hard to take your video seriously when you can't even pronounce the cruise line properly.

You pronounced it Oh-She-On-Na. The Oceania video you linked pronounces it Oh-She-Anne-Ah. Not that I care but that’s why the person said it was wrong. It’s a tomato/tomata thing😂 And I really enjoyed the video.
I've not yet tried Oceania, but they do look like an absolutely beautiful cruise product. Thanks for showing us around!

How about the impact of a smaller ship on seasickness potential? The smallest ship we've been on has had 1800 passengers and pretty stable. Bit concerned about movement with such a small vessel.
I definitely feel the motion more on small ships, but it depends where you're going. Alaska's inside passage tends to be VERY calm!
I’m looking to book on Oceania . I am going on my first cruise on Regent Seven Seas soon. It’s too expensive to do again, so this is a slightly less expensive option.

Congratulations, the more hosting invites on new lines the better. We're eyeballing the ultra luxury market ourselves, but they would probably have to be reposition or rare. I can sail into the Amazon for cheaper per night on Viking Ocean than HAL. In this day of crazy mass market pricing, it pays to compare, and consider all that is included.

I love Oceania. My sister and I have been on the Oceania Sirena twice, one West Coast cruise for a week in 2019 and the other a 2-week transatlantic Cruise in 2022. We found we love those small R class ships I can't wait to go again.

What was your room nunber? We are going on the Nautica in December. It is the sister ship of the Regatta. We are bringing our adult daughter with us. We have a veranda room for 3. Was the bed comfortable for your son? We were on the Regatta last year. Absolutely loved our time on board.
We had two rooms because they didn’t have sofa beds available - we were in 7070 and 7072! GREAT ship- bathrooms are tiny but nicely appointed
our first O was regatta, and we fell for her! we've since been on Sirena twice now, and are going on Vista later this year. we love O!
