Just came across your review while contemplating whether to finally wear the Penny II Black Stussys. Awesome work and great attention to the technical details, including the different anatomical views of the shoe. One thing of note, I believe most old school basketball shoes were sweat buckets. Ventilation wasn’t really a consideration until I saw it first in the Jordan 14 (did it exist in another brand prior?) and even that I believe was more decoration than function. The lockdown comfort from the lacing system takes many tries to get that just right fit without cutting off blood flow or risking a twisted ankle. But, as another person commented, they are a dream to wear after breaking them in and generating a high enough internal temperature to warm the up the footbed. Keep up the awesome reviews!

Retro shoes are still superior to these wack new kicks with no support, cushion or foot protection. These new shoes are minimalist running shoes. In basketball you need lots of ankle support, cushion under foot and thick padding in case some big center lands on your foot. No wonder players now are having so many foot injuries.

The mighty Air Penny 2, the most comfortable and gorgeous basketball sneaker ever made. I would give it a 10/10 for sure.

These together with 94-96 Barkleys the fit are amazing and performance is crazy good.

The larger air max unit in the OG versions from the 90s were so much wider and larger altogether, the retros just don't do them justice 😕
Would love to see you do a performance review for the rest of the penny line. The penny 3 and the penny 5 are my favorites.

It’s amazing to see the shoes I was dominating basketball in when I was in 7th grade, were garbage compared to what’s out today.
