  • I have no association with AD. I am not sponsored. My channel is not monetized by me (only by UA-cam). I bought this wing at the regular price with my own money based on the strength of pilot reviews. I am adding my thoughts here. If you fly EN-C wings already I recommend you test fly this wing and see what you think.

    Hiya!
Is there a chance to get your review of the Supair strike ?
I have upgraded to my first pod this season (lightness 2) but I'm finding it wobbly (I know, understandable after coming from a seat board harness).
I am curious if the mini seat board in the Strike makes a difference when comparing to a hammock style Lightness2. Is there more authority with the weight shift?
Also, what size are you and which size harness are you flying ?
    Any feedback much appreciated!
    Thanks !

Hi, I am flying the Strike in Large Size, I am about 180cm tall and weigh about 70kg. The harness has a removable seat board. With the seat board in you have great control for weight shift, but if you have a wing that depressurizes on one side (like the Volt 4) you get tipped to the side a lot. If I remove the seatboard it becomes more like a hammock harness where you have less weightshift authority, but you also get tipped less as you are now hanging lower. I have had no issues with side to side wobble once I got the harness straps adjusted correctly. I put the airbag from the Strike 2 into the Strike one and it is a perfect harness for me. Comfortable, light weight, lots of storage, packs up small. I have flown 500+ hours with my harness and it is still in great condition.

Thanks for the review! Mine is ordered can’t wait! We’re you loaded at the top? Or close? Thanks

I usually clip on at 80kg with all my gear so with my Vol Biv gear I will be right on the limit.

Thanks for the overall review. I am a 450-500hr pilot and fly a high B. I am looking to step up for a bit more performance as I fly long xc and vol biv. I wouldn’t use this wing so much for vol biv but long xc for sure. In your opinion, does the wing feel like a big step from a high b? Obviously being a 2 liner it will have a complete different feel.

Compared to my PHI Maestro X-Alps 18 the wing is easier to fly in rough air. The wing does need the same active flying inputs to keep it open but it just flies faster and copes with turbulence better. On bar it feels super solid and after about 30 hours now I am regularly using 2/3 bar in rough air and I feel confident about the wing. My favorite descent technique is one ear and a spiral to the other side and this works well, but is a harder to enter than the Maestro. I'm keeping the Maestro for vol biv and times when I want an extra margin. Maybe when I have 100hours on the Volt I will feel comfortable flying it all the time.

Don’t know if you have any commercial or other disclosures… live2fly could be the manufacturer’s brother in law.

There is a half way house with a hybrid 2/3 liner like the Fusion. You will have matching performance, keep the trim longer, better agility and probably find it more comfortable.

How does it compare to the allegro xalps/other C's you have flown?

    • @hangflyer
      @hangflyer  2 роки тому +1

The allegro x-alps feels like a B to me in handling. Perhaps the lower wing loading is why or perhaps it is just a more damped glider. I think the glide on both wings is similar on trim but the Volt is faster. On bar the volt is faster again. I would give a 3 liner with rear riser steering like the Allegro a 6 out of 10 for steering and feedback and control. The Volt gets a 10. The volt feels more like a higher C when you start doing spirals or wing overs but in other flight modes it is similar. When you pull B-Ears and use bar on the volt it feels very solid and goes fast with a big sink rate, very handy for escaping strong lift.

On both flights I use the accelerator! I don't use brummel hooks I have a loop that secures the connections.

I paid full retain for the wing in Switzerland. It was in stock with the dealer in Interlaken. I have never flown an AD wing before, I have no association with them.
