Amazing video, its so very intresting all this info about the prop used. Im so gratefull that you share. Star Wars is important to me and I love lightsabers. Thanks again 😊
Idk if it’s me but why is it to me so the cone knobs look better than those tiny small graflex pins. I’m working on a custom MHS saber and I have the short anakin pins but now I want to switch out the pins and drill and tap an M6 hole on both sides to fit a WW cone knob for both graflex pin housing holes.
lol trust me it was painful! But I used an Inc not a Folmer and technically everything is reversible! Slide switch and bunny ears could be remounted if necessary. The DV6 suffered the same fate lol
@@schrikeiv yeh that’s a fair point. It’s always a tough decision but I like using vintage parts when I can for more authenticity. Sometimes I swap out parts for replicas like the stamped sidebar on the Graflex ANH clamp, but sometimes it’s unavoidable like removing the beertab from the ESB. I’m unlikely to ever part with my collection so end of the day it’s all down to personal preferences isn’t it. A bit like buying an expensive vehicle and then modifying to suit your taste. Other people would think it’s crazy, but it’s all about what makes the owner happy with what they got 😉 but for what it’s worth I do agree with you. I always try hard to preserve parts as best as I can like the Kobold top.
I still don't understand why they used so many different configurations of lightsabers for different scenes. Doesn't that show bad directing? Where was the continuity? So weird.
It’s the 70s and 80s. They just used broken bits of junk to make props. A lot of them would fail and the prop team would have to come up with quick fixes, sometimes between takes! You often see things like wires, screws and tape on these hilts. But yes 🙌 don’t fully understand why this particular lightsabe was built that way!

Thanks a lot Peter for your support! I’m glad to always make interesting videos about lightsabers!
Awesome video and build! Such a unique, Frankenstein!
Great video. Thanks for your support!
Great video, SS. I noticed your booster on the V2 was accurately dark and wondered how you achieved that.
I can’t take credit for that one. I commissioned Adam Wells in the UK to do the weathering but I think he uses acid etching
Very cool mate great show 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Destroying a vintage graflex for that monstrosity is pure sacrilege.....😢... Same with those Vader, sa,bers, drilling those holes in them.

You try to bind that brass back it's gonna break....... Why not use one that's already destroyed or a replica then..... Not an irreplaceable antique.
