What if Mark already had one child before marrying Sid and having kids? The child could be teenaged? Maybe they and Sidney have some of that stepparent/stepchild tension ("you're not my real mom!"). Maybe it's found out that the new lead is Sidney's stepchild and they become a target. Just an idea for drama and a new lead character. I'm very intrigued to see what they do with this movie regardless!
I feel similarly on this topic. I want Sidney to get her haooy ending and live happily ever after with Mark and their girls. I dont want Scream to turn into the Fast and the Furious, and have Sid and her "family" hunting Ghostfaces for a living...and getting just whack. Im excited for S7, i really want to see what Kevin Williamson will bring to the table, and i really want to see Mark Kincaid return. And Dewey. (Can we just retcon SV/6??)

The "angel of death" thing was not explored much in 4. That whole movie is filled with missed opportunities (just like 5 and 6) but it's still fun and Jill is my favorite villain of the franchise. Anyway, I'm not crazy about the new premise, but it's starting to grow on me a bit. With good writing, 7 could be the best since 2.
To be honest there was nothing original about the killers motives in scream 6. It felt like a bad copycat of Scream 2. I’m hoping Scream 7 gives us a completely different twist.

The motive and reasoning can be for the new group of characters. Scream 5 exists and there wasn't a motive to kill Sidney she just showed up so they went after her. Or it can be a Ghostface who's motive is they jealous cause they didn't have a family growing up and they jealous of Sidney relationship with Mark and their family which is a perfect family and they want to kill the family.
