I totally need to track these down! I, too, teach, and love getting things for the holidays for the kids (probably from my own blessed childhood and my time in a title one school) so they have at least one gift for the celebration. This seems like a great way to do it without breaking the bank!

I believe those grab bags are a teachers best discount items . I know teachers spend a lot their own money on supplies. These are great usage for multiple items ( like the ones Melissa and dad got those little tiny stockings . That was so funny

I am so blown away with the value of these boxes. I have been wanting these for my classroom forever. I had to drive almost 40 minutes to get them lol but well worth it my classroom store is going to be off the hook lol
@@themissalliecakes I remember going to the school"store" for my reward when I was a kid. My choices were the BIC 4 colored pens, fruit eraser pencil toppers, book marks and occasionally a book or 2. I thought all THAT was off the hook! If I were to see a craft kit.......😨 my mind would have been blown!!😊So great 👍👍

I love grab bags but the closest Michaels is about 2 hours away. they do occasionally have them but i always seem to miss them.

I actually work at Michael's and let me tell you these things go quick. We ended up having about 30-40 of the grab bags this time around and half of them were gone within the first hour of opening and all of them were gone by the end of the day. Definitely a hot ticket item
For sure :-) I couldn’t believe they were still some left when I got there. When I called she said that they had some left but it was a 40 minute drive for me. I was going to be so upset if I drove all that way and they were all gone. I got lucky. Are you able as employees to purchase these boxes?
@@themissalliecakes No the employees can't buy them unfortunately. And I will say it was interesting to see that you got a lot of crafts in your boxes. I know at my store we had a lot of multi-packs of ornaments, a bunch of garland, and a lot of party supplies/decor left as well that went into the boxes.
I am going to have to see if Michael's store around me has $5 grab bags I love the stuff you get in them.

Did something really cool that you can do my sister and I will put them up in people's homes on their fireplace put candles in between and then wrap either bows or some Christmas ornaments to have them hanging down and it comes out really pretty

Oh my gosh I would cry happy tears if they did a fall Halloween one. My cousin got some fall items in her February box but I unfortunately didn’t get any. I’m definitely calling next year and figuring that out because fall is my absolute favorite :)

These are awesome. I can also suggest that you & other teachers put $20 in once a month & order bulk items from oriental trading. They sell loads of school supplies & toys.
I know Allie kinda alluded to this but i'm not in America but surely all school supplies and crafts should be provided by the school?! It shouldn't be up to teachers to buy supplies.
If you take those bows and fluff them out they look beautiful they have wire in them. These are only suggestions I know this because we decorate people's houses for Christmas my sister owns a florist and she buys all the stuff for Christmas and people just come in and buy the tree the way she sets it up and she goes in their house and sets it up

Everything starts out SO OVERPRICED that when they put it on sale it's still priced too much. The box might be $5 but I've seen very few boxes that I would want. Good for someone who likes to craft, though. Joann Fabrics likes to do the same super overpriced than have 40% off or so sales so you might think you're getting a good price.

I'm not American but why on earth are you and other teachers buying the school and craft supplies? Surely they should be provided by the school and not out of your own money. I know $5 is not much but that's outrageous!
My daughter teaches second grade. Since this is her first year teaching things are somewhat tough financially for her at times. I’ve ordered stuff for her class from Oriental Trading to help her out. I’ll be looking into if any Michaels around me do this also.
Why is she buying her own supplies? Surely the school should provide them. So unfair!
Why do we teach kids to shop but not how to save or do taxes in school.... Capitalism... Working out well for us isn't it? 😩 😢
I actually do teach finances in my 5th grade classroom ♥️ they also have lots of things to buy in the store from a pencil that’s 2 tickets up to a craft kit that might be like 100 tickets. So they need to learn how to save their tickets for multiple weeks and be safe with their money (tickets) because if they lose them they’re gone they don’t get them back :) 200 tickets is lunch on the teacher (where I will buy them lunch from a local restaurant). So saving and finances is greatly a part of it all :)
