Thanks for the video! I’ve got a 2013 Tacoma 2.7L and am about to do the same thing tomorrow minus the filter change.
How did it go? Planning on doing mine soon got the same truck.
Great how to video? Will be doing to mine soon.
Already sub'd. Like the way u improvise when difficult. I couldnt understand why u siphoned out when it HAS a plug? Does it drain the torque converter better? I know less mess. Nice Taco/well taken care of. He should hose out the engine bay. I used to change my tranny fluid on my 97 Camry. When tightening pan bolts are u suppose to stagger? U did an excellent job on them, thought u may have trouble near brace. I see your Camry in background, Hows it doing? I had 267,000 miles on mine but live in the rust belt 🙄 or I'd STILL be driving it! 👍✊🖖🇺🇸
Good work❤
How about show to us how you do this on your neck and shoulders upon the ground. Thank you
Yo....Jabo! I like and appreciate your video! I have a question, though........you went from 76 inch-pounds to 65 inch pounds on the pan bolts with no explanation. Do you know which is correct? thanks!
So after driving for a good amount of time, the transmission fluid dip stick should be within the Hot level if filled correctly?
My 2013 2.7L Tacoma 4x4 drained a gallon aka 4 quarts.
the longer 10mm bolt on the filter goes in the middle as you had it the first time...
My pan was stuck on. 2006 2.7L I bought used in 2018. It has 104k miles. I took all the bolts out and whacked the pan with a rubber mallet and then dead blow to no avail. I think I have a bit of seepage in the bolts. I put the bolts back in and change plans. Did drain and fill instead. Used fluid looked ok with a few metal shards I noticed. Id say 5 pieces in 4.5 qts. I put 4.5 qts back in.
Any advice for next time how to get stuck pan off? I wanted to replace the gasket. I also do not have a lift but did it with jack stands so could only generate so much torque to whack it. I saw some people say to hammer a putty knife between the seal all the way around the pan but quit while I was ahead. Any advice appreciated. I don't have a helper either.
I have a 2014 2.L Taco. 129,000 KM. Got it used at 114,000. Do you think I can get away with doing a drain and fill or should I replace my filter also?
Drain and fill, the filter is just a metal screen and 99% of the time they are super clean.
It's really hard to gauge the fluid level with the engine running on idle. Having a dip stick is great for refilling fluid, but give me an over fill drain tube.
How often do you recommend doing a drain and fill ? And how often should you change the transmission filter out ?
The Car Care Nut who has a ton of great Toyota maintenance videos recommends changing the type IV transmission fluid every 3 years or 30,000 miles
Where did you find all of the torque specs?

Where did you get the transmission pan gasket ?
