Actually not only skz is banned from dating in the first 3 years from their debut all artist from jype have this rule but groups like twice,day6,2pm and etc. has gotten the ban lifted since they have been active for more than 3 years.
Just to clarify, the bar thing is this: there are specific bars that only hire female servers, but they're basically escorts. JYP banned this because it reflects badly on the company (most of these placed are used for business as well).

i think the dating rule actually kinda makes sense (PLS DON'T ATTACK ME LET ME EXPLAIN AHDKAJ) for the first three years of an idol group's career, they have to make a big impression on the audience so that they can guarantee success for the future, and it makes sense that JYP would want them to avoid dating and scandals during that time. i know jyp isn't the best ceo/chairman but the amount of investment they put into training these idols and making their m/vs come to life is indescribable and shouldn't be overlooked. so of course you would expect jyp wants his artists to avoid scandals early in their career, so they can even hope to pay back what he's spent on them. idk it just seems to me that not a lot of fans actually realise how much of a big part the entertainment agencies play in their idol's success, and of course they're not gonna always be angels, they're businesspeople who need to also profit for themselves. so i hope people don't go bashing companies/jyp without realising that the dating deal is quite fair for what the idols have been given
Some companies doesn't even allow idols to date at all, so even having to wait three years is good, career wise and fair for their life - idols should be allowed to have a bf/gf whilst still in their twenties, its a normal thing for people that age which is why I think it's good jyp still allows it, even if there is a few year wait due to their careers just starting so there isn't a big issue like scandals etc
I agree with you, but the problem is that dating shouldn't create scandal in the first place, I mean it's the culture behind it that is wrong, not the dating ban itself, I understand why Jype put a dating ban on their idols, it's just that dating for idols should be normalized, how can fall in love with someon be a scandal? Even when they haven't the dating ban they still get hate for it, this is just so sick in my opinion.
They make a lot more money selling merchandise when the fans can have an easier time thinking that they have a chance to some day meet their idol and make the idol fall in love with them. It's harder to have that 'chance' when the idol is already in a relationship. So the X amount of years gives the group a chance to build a solid following and not take too much of a dip in profits if they start dating and the obsessive fans stop buying stuff because they're mad it's not them that gets to date the idol.

For example even when the public starts to view idols dating positively and doesn't give hate just bc they're dating, if they're dating at the very beginning of their career they'd probably not be able to give their all at that time as a rookie is supposed to. Bc dating does require being able to give time to the dating life and the first 3years are so hectic that an idol barely gets sleep bc it is the time where they have to *build* their career from nothing and if you add dating to their already hectic schedule then it gets even tougher. You could say that in this case, to prevent a break up the artist should just not be given such a packed schedule in the first place. Sure, that could be done but then someone else will take those gigs & events that they could have done and this might lower their popularity, also,more importantly, lower the money that they will be able to earn. Bc more time&dedication=more money. So even in a scenario where it's positive for idols to date, the ones that don't date will still be able to profit more :( and that is why companies would still want the rule at least in the first few years after debut so that they can have their desired profit and debt paid back and their investment can be compensated. Another business reason i can think of is, these companies basically need great marketing strategies to succeed and gain fame for their brand of celebrity that they created and at that time if the idols date, basically the public stops viewing that celebrity as a person of their own and always associate their partner with them as a pair no matter what they do and that person also starts being associated with their brand image and if that other person is also a celebrity, then the company obviously wouldn't want that other celebrity to benefit from the fame of their idol and enjoy the fruits of the effort&planning that they had put into creating their artist's brand image for free. And worse, if the other celeb/partner does something bad then automatically their partner will also suffer from image tarnishing even if they did nothing. And sometimes relationships don't always go smoothly, if too negative issues such as blackmail, toxic personality,manipulation etc gets in front of public, there would inevitably be a scandal(i.e. Kim Jung-hyun & Seo Ye-ji case) and no company would want to deal with that risk, not in the first few years of their idols anyway bc that would mean their business would be running on loss instead of profit

The GOT7 ban is because JYP treated them so poorly and when they left, JAYB was the lawyer that won the lawsuit which allowed them to get rights to their group name, separate names, and all their music from GOT7 and the sun-units Jus 2 and J J Project. JYP was not happy they won and that they were able to tell their story.

I guess all the rules are quite justified. Also,the rule that they can't make tiktok on got7 songs, it's actually they're not allowed to make tiktoks on any other artist, even from the same company. That's because,they are on the verge of rise and if they keep making videos(except for a few obviously) of other artists, it might hamper their fame. The dating thing is also justified. They were kids during their debut and most probably in the middle of their adolescence (where kids can be diverted the most) and this could have resulted in their lack of focus or dedication. And now that they're adults and well built already, there's no ban. Also, let's not forget that jype is the only company that allows male and female idols to be friends in public.
I hope the dating ban got lifted, they should be able date if they choose. It’s sad that some people forget that this is their job, they don’t owe us anything. For GOT7, they’re still friends. The “ban” is that they can’t take part in promoting a group that left JYPE. And doing a tiktok or anything publicly is considered promoting. Chan may have even gotten in trouble for playing BamBam’s song on Chan’s Room. It makes sense if you think about it from a business standpoint (and JYPE is a business). Why would you want current idols to promote idols that left the company?

Infact once there was hate spreading on woojin on Twitter after Chan said something on vlive and delulu stays made it about woojin and then in Chan's next live with 3racha he said "what i said last time it was not about 'that' person so don't send any hate to that person". Their comeback was delayed because of this. And their company had to spend a lot of extra money for all this last minute changes. If they were really allowed to mention him after he left, then they wouldn't have gone through all that last minute trouble and especially the company wouldn't have wasted all that money on their staff to redo all the work. They had to do all that bc of legal reasons. It's business, nobody wants to spend extra money here unless it's really legally necessary. If you were in kpop during 2nd and 3rd gen then you would have known that infact they are indeed banned from mentioning former member's name when they abruptly leave like this. Be cause in all the other groups where this happened, the remaining member's made sure to not mention the former member's name no matter what happened. So it's obviously legal reasons why they do this.

JYPE can no longer promote or have Woojin appearance as their artists so they can't talk too much (It's against the law) The company itself also don't have a reason to promote him anymore. That's also apply to SKZ and Woojin. As for why they don't mention each other, it depends on situation. Woojin sign up for smaller company and chance for them to work with JYPE is slim. There's also period of Woojin preparing for his debut but that fake scandal show up. I bet that incident was the real reason they can't open up supporting each other to avoid more drama.

i think the dating rule actually kinda makes sense (PLS DON'T ATTACK ME LET ME EXPLAIN AHDKAJ)
for the first three years of an idol group's career, they have to make a big impression on the audience so that they can guarantee success for the future, and it makes sense that JYP would want them to avoid dating and scandals during that time. i know jyp isn't the best ceo/chairman but the amount of investment they put into training these idols and making their m/vs come to life is indescribable and shouldn't be overlooked. so of course you would expect jyp wants his artists to avoid scandals early in their career, so they can even hope to pay back what he's spent on them. idk it just seems to me that not a lot of fans actually realise how much of a big part the entertainment agencies play in their idol's success, and of course they're not gonna always be angels, they're businesspeople who need to also profit for themselves. so i hope people don't go bashing companies/jyp without realising that the dating deal is quite fair for what the idols have been given

I agree with you, but the problem is that dating shouldn't create scandal in the first place, I mean it's the culture behind it that is wrong, not the dating ban itself, I understand why Jype put a dating ban on their idols, it's just that dating for idols should be normalized, how can fall in love with someon be a scandal? Even when they haven't the dating ban they still get hate for it, this is just so sick in my opinion.
They make a lot more money selling merchandise when the fans can have an easier time thinking that they have a chance to some day meet their idol and make the idol fall in love with them. It's harder to have that 'chance' when the idol is already in a relationship. So the X amount of years gives the group a chance to build a solid following and not take too much of a dip in profits if they start dating and the obsessive fans stop buying stuff because they're mad it's not them that gets to date the idol.

For example even when the public starts to view idols dating positively and doesn't give hate just bc they're dating, if they're dating at the very beginning of their career they'd probably not be able to give their all at that time as a rookie is supposed to. Bc dating does require being able to give time to the dating life and the first 3years are so hectic that an idol barely gets sleep bc it is the time where they have to *build* their career from nothing and if you add dating to their already hectic schedule then it gets even tougher. You could say that in this case, to prevent a break up the artist should just not be given such a packed schedule in the first place. Sure, that could be done but then someone else will take those gigs & events that they could have done and this might lower their popularity, also,more importantly, lower the money that they will be able to earn. Bc more time&dedication=more money. So even in a scenario where it's positive for idols to date, the ones that don't date will still be able to profit more :( and that is why companies would still want the rule at least in the first few years after debut so that they can have their desired profit and debt paid back and their investment can be compensated. Another business reason i can think of is, these companies basically need great marketing strategies to succeed and gain fame for their brand of celebrity that they created and at that time if the idols date, basically the public stops viewing that celebrity as a person of their own and always associate their partner with them as a pair no matter what they do and that person also starts being associated with their brand image and if that other person is also a celebrity, then the company obviously wouldn't want that other celebrity to benefit from the fame of their idol and enjoy the fruits of the effort&planning that they had put into creating their artist's brand image for free. And worse, if the other celeb/partner does something bad then automatically their partner will also suffer from image tarnishing even if they did nothing. And sometimes relationships don't always go smoothly, if too negative issues such as blackmail, toxic personality,manipulation etc gets in front of public, there would inevitably be a scandal(i.e. Kim Jung-hyun & Seo Ye-ji case) and no company would want to deal with that risk, not in the first few years of their idols anyway bc that would mean their business would be running on loss instead of profit

Also,the rule that they can't make tiktok on got7 songs, it's actually they're not allowed to make tiktoks on any other artist, even from the same company.
That's because,they are on the verge of rise and if they keep making videos(except for a few obviously) of other artists, it might hamper their fame.
The dating thing is also justified. They were kids during their debut and most probably in the middle of their adolescence (where kids can be diverted the most) and this could have resulted in their lack of focus or dedication. And now that they're adults and well built already, there's no ban.
Also, let's not forget that jype is the only company that allows male and female idols to be friends in public.
I hope the dating ban got lifted, they should be able date if they choose. It’s sad that some people forget that this is their job, they don’t owe us anything. For GOT7, they’re still friends. The “ban” is that they can’t take part in promoting a group that left JYPE. And doing a tiktok or anything publicly is considered promoting. Chan may have even gotten in trouble for playing BamBam’s song on Chan’s Room. It makes sense if you think about it from a business standpoint (and JYPE is a business). Why would you want current idols to promote idols that left the company?
I really don’t understand why they’re passing the “JYP really hates got7” Agenda when even Bambam in an article a while back talked about how he met up with JYP himself and how he would love to feature him sometimes! Fans push the hate, but JYP himself and got7 boys are still on good terms! It’s just the agency and I really understand because like you asked “why would a company promote an idol that left???” It’s just logic! I used to be an Aghase but it got so annoying seeing how Aghases are always referring back to how got7 left and how it’s so good for them like fam move on! Don't put words in Chan's mouth. Stay true to FACTS. Infact once there was hate spreading on woojin on Twitter after Chan said something on vlive and delulu stays made it about woojin and then in Chan's next live with 3racha he said "what i said last time it was not about 'that' person so don't send any hate to that person". Skz had to rerecord their album when Woojin left abruptly right near their comeback time. They even had to edit the MV to edit Woojin out since it was already filmed. Their comeback was delayed because of this. And their company had to spend a lot of extra money for all this last minute changes. If they were really allowed to mention him after he left, then they wouldn't have gone through all that last minute trouble and especially the company wouldn't have wasted all that money on their staff to redo all the work. They had to do all that bc of legal reasons. It's business, nobody wants to spend extra money here unless it's really legally necessary. If you were in kpop during 2nd and 3rd gen then you would have known that infact they are indeed banned from mentioning former member's name when they abruptly leave like this. Be cause in all the other groups where this happened, the remaining member's made sure to not mention the former member's name no matter what happened. So it's obviously legal reasons why they do this.
It simple really. JYPE can no longer promote or have Woojin appearance as their artists so they can't talk too much (It's against the law) The company itself also don't have a reason to promote him anymore. That's also apply to SKZ and Woojin.
As for why they don't mention each other, it depends on situation. Woojin sign up for smaller company and chance for them to work with JYPE is slim. There's also period of Woojin preparing for his debut but that fake scandal show up. I bet that incident was the real reason they can't open up supporting each other to avoid more drama.
I think they are also not allowed to talk about members who are on hiatus. I still remember when hyunjin was on hiatus
