Been wetshaving for about 5 years now. My daily driver is a Timeless .68. You won’t be disappointed. I also have a .95 baseplate but it’s too aggressive for me. I can’t use it more than a couple days in a row without my neck getting irritated.
Beautiful razor! I meet the Timeless brothers at the Maggard’s Meetup. It was a great time. You should try to come to the next one. Right now I’m using a Yates Precision 921 in stainless steel. Blade of choice right now is either the Rapira Platinum Lux, or the Perm-Sharp Super. It would be nice to see you do more videos on razors. At least a state of the collection of the razors you do have. Thanks for doing this video.
Dude you Wet Shave too! Awesome! That was my obsession before watches. I’ve tried many razors including Timeless but the best shaves I’ve had are w/ Karve Razor & Perma Sharp blades. BBS shaves with zero irritation every time! I have a Karve Razor w/ a level "C" baseplate in brass. I can’t recommend Karve Razors enough!
I use a Rockwell 6S and a Feather AS-2D. Blades are Astra SP, Feather, and Personna Medical Prep blades. Those are mild razors. I have others that I rarely use.
For me, a lot of the 3-piece razors aren't aggressive enough for me. My favorite is the Gillette Fatboy with the adjust on maximum 9. The Slim is good too but the Fatboy is my favorite.
@@RandomRobReviews My favorite mild razor is the 1940s Gillette Super Speed or the Super Speed Red Tip. Astra Platinums are sharp but not dangerous sharp like the Feather.
@@JeffreyMcMahon astra plats were my go to when I used a safety razor. Switched back to carts because my military scheduled dictated quick shower shaves, but it was a fun part of my life!
I've been down that path of the wet shave obsession years ago and settled on a 1960's Gillette Red Tip razor, Shark chrome plated blades, and Cella shave cream as well as Tabac. My brush is a Parker badger. The Parker is the best brush I've ever used.
Very very nice! Have a bronze scallop version that has about two years of patina. Astra and Vostok blades are my personal favorite! Enjoy the journey of shaving. Also need to check out razorock their razors and brushes are awesome.
I have to shave every day. I have always shaved in the shower. No mirror. Never nick myself. Have used a 4 blade since I was 17 or 18 (57 now) That does look cool, but I think I am too stuck in my ways to change. Very cool and nice razor!
Sir, it really is next level grooming....probably the closest to acceptable male pampering as you can get especially if you go all in with a quality brush, soap, balm and moisturizer.......BLISS!!!!!!
Very nice! I've seen them, but never tried it out. I finally bought a Feather AS-D2S after trying many brands from vintage Gillette Fatboy and Slim..both of which are awesome, but the alignment wasn't always consistent. I also tried Mekur and a few other brands, but nothing was as awesome as the Feather with matching blades. Perfect blade alignment every time. Not terribly aggressive, so I don't have to pay too much attention when shaving my head. Also, if you haven't tried Mitchell's wool fat shaving soap, it will literally change your life. Whip it up in skuttle mug and it's like a salon day for you.
I recently got a King C. Gillette double edge at the Walgreens for a little over 30 bucks w/tax. I didn't know if I would like double edge shaving coming from a Gillette Mach 3 cartridge. I was thinking about getting a Timeless or a 'Murica razor but I'm going to think about it for a while since I like the one I have except for the handle.
I have a double edge safety razor as well. I have never one that HD the entire top coming off to load. Yours is really nice. Lots of options. I have a Mehaz. I use Gillette
Astra blades! I use a shave oil, not soap. I find the shave soap is not very lubricating. And with shave oil I can see exactly where I’m shaving , very important as I am sporting a Royal Napoleon. My shave oil is homemade, from a recipe I found. All the oils are food grade and edible, if chemical exposure, or lack thereof, is important to you.
I have a collection of old razors and even some old Gillette double edge blades. The ones that were in the blue packaging with a picture of king Gillette. I used some of the razors but then I grew my beard out so now they just sit there and collect dust.
That razor is cool! 👍🏻 I’m into mostly vintage stuff - Gillette Super Speeds, Rockets, Slim, Fatboy, etc. Also some modern Merkurs and a Feather AS-D2. I recommend you try some Gillette Silver Blue blades - super smooth!
Once I got the Merkur long handle barber pole 8 years ago and paired it with the Feather blades, I pretty much stopped buying other razors and blades. Are Feather blades still the best in the business?

I don't know how you keep up with all of these things but I'm glad you do 🙂

I am still in the mild phase

Nice touch with the stand. I own one from Merkur and it take space to store it. With the stand it's much more easier.

Sweet razor! I really like the Timeless bronze razor also. I use a Karve Christopher Bradley razor.
Very cool.
we have the same hobbies, watches, knives and wet shaving
Have a box of Personna Blades.
Want to try other blades, but haven't needed to buy more in years lol.

I will get on that

yeah nothing beats Japanese steel.
It would be nice if some watch manufacturers packed, boxed and shipped their watches that well.
Lovely razor but when i saw the price my heart sank!
You should try Taylor of old bond street shave cream! They are my favorite
hi john here how was the shave with the razor looking at the stainless razor to
Ouch! It’s expensive, very nice looking no doubt. Gillette’s disposal razors does the job for me, thanks for showing it to us...
have you done the math on dispoasables? Nothing beats safey razors when it comes to saving you $$$
Wilkenson swords and gillette razor for 25 years......
I have to like this video because i shave 2-3 times a week
Do you own any straight razors?
Nope.
@@RandomRobReviews And what about soaps? Which one do you use if you use any?
Cremo, and Proraso are my main two picks. Have tried many. Just prefer these
