Hi Richie love your channel and taste of music, could you give your opinion on which version to look for soundwise usa uk etc, in the past I did not bother which pressing to look for until I notice the difference.
I’m no expert on which versions are best. I do know when something sounds terrible but I’m bad at comparing different pressings. Once I find a good copy I’m done.

I still think Springsteen should be considered as a band. The E-street Band is more than a backing band, it's key to his sound. None of the early albums sound like they do without the E-Street Band. The musicians have/had been constant as well including Bittan, Weinberg, Federici (RIP), Clarence (RIP) as well as other tenured members of the band. Bruce may be the Boss but he clearly wanted to be in a band.

I’m not very familiar with Willie Alexander except that he joined the Velvet Underground near the end. The next of interest is Tom Rush. I have one Tom Rush album with him standing by railroad tracks. I liked the album but haven’t listened to it much. If I had Little Richard on vinyl it would have been hard for me to leave him off. Great list.
Steve Howe and Wakeman on a Lou Reed album? WTF? never heard of that, are you goofin? Born To Run was great but I’m done with the E -Street Bum. Aretha Franklin at the Fillmore is great. the Waxed is the VC Man Child. Had a great grandad that was an Elvis Impersonator unfortunately there wasn’t a demand for that in the 40s
Definitely my No.1 faveourite Madonna album, though Ray of Light is pretty good, too. Lou Reed's supposedly lesser and overlooked albums from the late 70's to early 80's Arista period contain some of his most hilarious and genius lyricism. I'd have to have Laura Nyro somewhere in there as well. Sinatra's too pompous for me.

I pulled 28 artists and laid them out on the bed. I decided on #1 and went from there. I didn’t really over think it.

In The Wee Small Hours - probably one of the best pop albums in the history of that genre.
