      SomeoneInYourChat FromDublin What a damn improver he is. I was backing him as a 2yr old. I saw him do last season at Goodwood what he done today and it honestly didn’t surprise me. Saw out the trip really well like he wanted further.

      @@phobsdsr4326 gosden today in the last with African Dream 7/4 looks huge even though there are 15+ runners. If the handicap mark means anything at all he should win doing handstands

    For me, Lord North. Look at how he won, I backed him in the small field group 3 last weekend but had no idea he’d be up for this task. A real improver.
    Tactical looked good too, I absolutely love the sire Toronado and always backed him to beat Dawn Approach, yep, he cost me some cash as a 3yr old but paid me well on first couple on wins and final win. As Tactical won over 5f, I would say he is already looking like a promising sort for next years 2000 Guineas (especially with the trainer winner this years edition) and the sire was a top class miler.

      Lord North is Gosden's secret weapon.
      Great to see Tactical win for Her Majesty. ❤️

      cookupastorm Secret weapon.. Probably the best way to describe Lord North this season. I always knew he was good and unexposed over trips beyond the mile, we can now see what he’s all about.
      Tactical rounding off day 2 was nice. For me it was a banker, just looked a winner before the first race and I was a little concerned after Lord North won. I don’t know why as top jockeys can do doubles trebles and even 4 timers on their day, J Doyle is no stranger to multiple winners at a meeting.

    Arthurian fable is one to keep an eye on travelled powerfully and lost lots of momentum as hukum leaned in and checked him but still finished strong I'd like to see what he could of done with a clear passage

    Definitely seems to be a significant track bias in play... winners up the straight track have been almost exclusively on the stand side

    Addeybb confirmed for us something that we've probably all always known.
    That standard Australian group one form is about 5/6 lengths behind standard English group one form.
    This was a pretty poor PW by noreal standards and the horse that just comfortably won Australia's second most important and second richest 2000m race was beaten almost 4L.
    Not including 5/6f races of course.

      But Addeybb beat Japan.... so Japan isn't good enough to win in Australia based on that performance?

    • @bgardiner3354
      @bgardiner3354 4 роки тому +3

      Daryl Curnow my thoughts exactly. Japan beat Crystal Ocean in a Juddmonte and was unlucky not to be an Epsom Derby winner. My thoughts are that Addeybb’s performance frank Australian middle distance form. Take out Verry Elegant from the Queen Elizabeth and it was not a strong renewal of the race. Given that Addeybb ran up to his form when 2nd in the BCC to Magical who has form around Enable. EGS’s view is typically blinkered.

    • @phobsdsr4326
      @phobsdsr4326 4 роки тому

      Daryl Curnow Japan thoroughly let himself down. I think we seen the best of him. Didn’t rate him too highly in the first place. O’Brien’s had a dozen better middle distance runners in the past 10 years IMHO

    • @phobsdsr4326
      @phobsdsr4326 4 роки тому

      B Gardiner Addeybb seems quite ground dependent. Finishes too late or doesn’t stay, depending on ground. When conditions are perfect, he’s a Group 3 horse.

    • @bgardiner3354

      Phobs DSR that is beside the point. Japan is a genuine G1 horse. Time will tell just how good Lord North is... but the point was that, on the basis of this race, that Australian G1 racing is 5-6L inferior to the UK, when Addeybb beat home a Juddmonte winner by a similar margin as he beat Verry Elleegant on his preferred going.

      Wayne Kerr I know the feeling, thought I had the winner in the bag with Terrebellum yesterday but it weren’t to be.
      I have this problem big time with R Johnson over jumps. He’ll get 110 winners in a season, I’ll back him 20 times and he’ll come 2nd or pull the horse up.. Crazy!
