@@Adolfjaeger24 I took it in a different way. Not all jobs are compatible with all personalities. I worked at a grocery store. Didn't work for me either. Got a job at an auto body shop and loved it. My former co-workers at the grocery would have hated it. Sometimes you know something is not for you. Finding the work, even if not especially grunt work when you're young is invaluable. That doesn't lower the value of a given job. How labor is paid for is a totally different convo. Not like LL dictates the economy. Even still, Dr. Dre touched on that.
@@scottmerrick9815 Well me personally find working at a grocery store more honerable and valuable than cussing on a beat for a living. But thats just me. And since they all laughed after he said what he said I think Im right and they're making fun of people working at said grocery stores

Thanking Kool Moe Dee for pushing him to complete greatness was a classy move on LL's part considering the "strong animosity" they had for one another during their rap battles for supreme control of hip hop during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Just glad to see LL and KMD are on good terms these days.

There will never be a Hip Hop artist with a career as illustrious as L.L. Cool J's. As a rapper myself, I could never be envious of him. On the contrary, I'm extremely grateful that the musical genre that I love so much produced such as a person.

Massive, life-long LL fan (and hip-hop). So well deserved 👏 His statements at the end (as also a blues/rock/jazz musician myself) are not only respectful but fitting. The more people understand that Rock N Roll, coined by the late Alan Freed, was indeed founded in gospel, rhythm & blues, and swing. Primarily black music. Therefore, it’s natural that another iteration, as music evolved, was rap/hip-hop. They are not separate but one in the same. Grateful for all the influences in the rich heritage of music we have and continue to have and especially for the massive mark LL Cool J has made in music and in our lives! One love ✊🏽

I'm a Queens kid, same age. I sat next to Simone Johnson in a few classes in Bayside HS and played ball against Andrew Jackson. I remember when he used to come to pick her up at school. It was an event, like the president was at the school
