    We tend to forget sometimes just how melodic a bass line can be. This one is beautiful and so well played. Thank you!

    Great job on this!
    People are saying a fellow named Joe Macho (aka Joe Mack) played this...Whoever it was sure did understand the chord tones!

      Hi Joe, I met your dad on MySpace in 2010 or 11; my memory isn't the greatest. I found his profile and sent him a message, not really expecting a reply. At least not from the real Bob Babbitt. But I did!!! Of course we talked bass. I had just got back into it after not playing for years, and he had some very encouraging words for me. We talked about Motown, Jamerson and Pittsburgh. I'm a huge Steelers fan! But what was cool was talking about real life. As much as I wanted to fanboy out on our interactions, he inquired about me and my life! I was in a new relationship and scared to take it to the next step because my ex wife had hurt me very bad. He was so understanding and encouraging. We're now happily married. Our correspondence only lasted a few months, but I have to say he was one of the sweetest, most genuine spirits I've encountered.
      I really wish I had saved those conversations. 😪
      I've tried a couple times but can't retrieve that account or the aol email I used back then. Anyway, thank you for sharing your dad with the rest of us. He is greatly missed.

      Thanks man! This bass got a muting system which is turned on. Additionaly I use a piece of sponge, slightly soaked up with water.

      Manfred Sauer cool! Does the muting system have a name?

    • @manfredsauer
      @manfredsauer  4 роки тому +2

      @@Carsonchildersmusicnow It originally comes from the Fender Jaguar Guitar. If you google "Fender Jaguar Mute" you will find it.

      @@manfredsauer , You most likely know that Bob used a sponge also.

      @Chuck Kreinar I figured it was a sponge. But if it's something else or particular type of sponge I would greatly appreciate knowing?
