- Amityville 2015 "set" in the process of being torn down after filming.
They built this prop set in a large park in Long Beach California (El Dorado Park 2)
It took them 2 months to build this set and 3 days to tear it down.
It's not a real house. It's just a hollow prop shell held up by 2 telephone poles.
This set was used for all the exterior shots of the film. Interiors shots were filmed in a studio.

Yes i wonder why they changed the house sooo much in the 2005 version....Except from the typical "Eye" windows it didn't look like the original house at all like the the 1979 version and Amityville 2;the possession and Amityville 3.....
Not even the story in the 2005 version was right at all and i know George Lutz sued those who made it....i have read the book several times and the 1979 version was way closer to the book than the 2005 version....But those who made the 2005 version lied and said that the 2005 version was closer to the book,.....it was not......It was like it was a totally different family moving into a total different house.....Not the lutz family....They didn't even put the ages of the kids right.....Kathy didn't have a teen son who was angry all the time....Her oldest son was 9 years old....then it was a son who was 7 and the 5 year old girl.....But in the 2005 version the daughter seemed to be 9 or 10...Where was Jodie...Missy's pig friend....It was shown in the 1979 version but in the 2005 version Jodie was ron deFeo's youngest sister(in real his youngest sister was not that small ....she was 13)..i wish it came one The Amityville Horror version which was really "by the book"....
In the 2005 version the daughter walked on the roof of the big house .....that didn't happen in the book at all and neither that George ran after his family in the rain with some gun on the roof....Soooo much wrong things....If the story had been made by the book the film would be Amazing.....
Read the book and see how much they changed the story.....BIG shame really....i was sooo excited to see it since it was said that it was way closer to the book...and since it was/is my fave book then i had high hopes for the film to be better than the first.....The first didn't follow the book all the way either since the priest who tried to help them never got blind cause of a blessing session in the Church as in the film....But still it was many things in the film that fit with the book.....like that the window fell down on one of the boys hand and that the Money disappeared and the pig in the window......

I know call me crazy but i love this house set up in the movie. If i had the money, i would hire a construction crew to build me a replica of this house on my property i own. I just love the old victorian looking houses. Someday i'll have the house built.
Same here. I love the layout of the house with 3 floors and a sun patio plus the boathouse. I also like the gambrel roof and windows & half moon windows

I've been reading the comments and most are saying they wish they had returned to the original house from Amityville 1-3. The house used in the first three movies were filmed in the house in Toms River New Jersey. I believe the address is 18 Brooks Rd and yes it would've been nice if they built it around water. I wish they wouldn't have pushed the date back. Keep me updated on dates you guys. xoxo

The real house is on a canal with a boat house. It just doesn't have that huge property like on the other set.

+Fun Bucket In filming - It's very common in film making - they don't have to have all the set pieces and property together - all that can be filmed in separate locations and edited in post production. The interiors will be on a sound stage, no doubt. And by today's standards, a lot might even be in computer as CGI compositing.

the origional house was in toms river nj and was NOT the actual house in amityville
It also had to be given major modifications, as it didn't have a Grambel Roof. They constructed a huge façade that was then placed over the existing Gable Roof.
Funny how in all of the movies, minus the remake, that they always have the house with eye windows on both sides. The real house only had those windows on the one side that faces Ocean Avenue.
Shame they tore it down again I would have live there lol

I thought they used the same propped-up house from the first and second original movies....I thought they did a good job....I'm amazed it was just a modern-day rebuild..and..West Coast as well, as oppose to East Coast....

Wonder if there are blue prints of this exact house or this style of architecture available? I would love to have one built of the exact structure and design of the one in Amityville ny. The old colonial style architecture and design.

The whole film is backwards and upside down as the film should have never been made and is why it went straight to DVD, online content.
For a movie about the Amityville House, it really didn't have all that much to do with the house. It seems they called it Amityville just to get people interested in seeing it when they could have called it something else easily with the exact same story.

So many things wrong with this set house. They seem to never be able to get it right. The chimney, the windows are way too big, porch, etc.

I'll tell yall what they did wrong, 1. Extension room on wrong side 2. Sun Porch in wrong place 3. The staircases aren't right and in wrong place, 4. the banister inside the house is wrong.
+Brady Heitz 5. There was no exposed brick fireplace between the windows. 6. The house was painted black (except for the sun porch side) during the time the Lutz family was there.

It's for legal reasons as not to infringe on other films, etc.
Had I'd known, I would have funded the project for the house and then turned it into a bed and breakfast.
And warehouse is not to itself like that it's got other houses all around it

It was a prop built in a city park. It was just an outside shell for exterior shots. It had no floors in it. It was held up by 3 wooden telephone poles. They do crazy expensive stuff in the movie industry because of the mass amounts of money they take in. This one actually flopped and was never shown in the movie theater. It was delayed several times from being released because of lawsuits and reedits. It went straight to DVD and streaming platforms.

I don't like the new look I like the true original house from the Amityville horror 1979 Amityville 2 the possession and Amityville 3d or 3 the demon wished they just kept it with the original design but I will try it, and hate the house, watching Amityville 2 the possession as I write this LOL 😊
The original movie was wrong as well. The real house during the time of the Defeo and Lutz time it wasn't a dark color.

Amityville Horror was about the Luts family staying at the house but never had anything to do with the murders that took place which everyone is trying to make it out to be. A really good documentary about the film, what happened and what didn't happen called, "Amityville An Origin Story". It covers every aspect of why the film was popular at the time.
