Why it’s hard: 1. Chords in fast parts 2. Ricochets 3. Super Fast Fingering 4. Weird rhythm 5. Harmonics 6. Insanely high positions 7. The guy plays it even faster to make us feel bad 8. Just hard
Well, kids who are in 5th grade are what... 11? If they began at 5, that’s already 6 years of dedicated lessons. Even if they began at 7, that’s still 3 years of playing (usually practicing hours per day) to get here.
I'm learning this piece. It's difficult with the staccatos and parts are like Paganini, but the hand positions aren't so challenging. It's definitely the hardest piece I have ever learned so far. I came from learning Mozart 3. The piece is extremely fun though.
@@ryansherman4048 lmao ye. nobody cares. oh while I'm here I'd like to say my friend can play the kabalevsky violin concerto and he's only been playing for 2 years.
@@ryansherman4048 lol. he isn't the best at it, but he can definitely play it with all the dynamics and stuff good enough. He played it as his solo piece for something.
When I played this 5 years ago, I never really listened to it. But I thought I was awesome and that this piece was so damn difficult. Now...? Holy cripes, I played it at like half this tempo.
ahhh I remember learning this in middle school! It was a very fun piece, and I wish good luck to everyone learning ricochet in the faster section! It took me quite a while to nail but it will get there with a lot of practice :)
pure delight and yes it is a great stepping stone to the great concerti of Mendelssohn, Bruch and others. Scene de Ballet gives the young student some clues as to the joy that awaits them down the road. I know it made the young me love music. it also beats Kruetzer and Rode eveverytime.
I'm learning this right now, and I really love it. The violist in my class played it for us when she just came back after a 3 or 4 month break with no playing, so that was really incredible
I finished secondary music school in my country, i didn't countinue too study so its not the highest level of experience but I know that this was my favourite piece that I've played, makes me cry sometimes listening to it
I see a lot of comments talking about the difficulty of these piece. What I can advice whilst learning any piece is to deconstruct it to its fundamentals and get really comfortable with the notes. Instead of playing through the chords, play them slowly like you are playing a scale of octaves or thirds. Try playing those string crossings with open strings. And don’t forget, practice slowly and carefully!
Just keep practicing, especcially breathing-exercises and dr.Pillai meditation or Burt Goldman.Just say y want and y can!! Just love yrselves, be grateful what y can and never compare with another person. You're unique as anybody else!! Namaste.
I love this piece but learning it is KILLING me!!! Particularly the ricochet bowing at the end of the bolero, it is so hard to do accurately and it's also quite physically tiring. Good luck to anybody else trying to learn this piece, you'll need it!!
Catlover Forever That's actually the same exact thing I did. I learned the concerto first and then on Wednesday my teacher showed this to me and asked which I wanted to play for a concerto competition coming up in January and I chose this piece because it was more exciting.
This piece was born to be played by a violin with orchestra accompaniment. It’s so beautiful.
Really an underated Composer. Accolay, too.🌷
LIterally, it was composed for violin + orchestra xd
Itzhak Perlman playing Scene de ballet by Charles Auguste de Beriot accompanied by the Julliard orchestra. Recorded in "Concertos from my Childhood.
Why it’s hard:

2. Ricochets

Me also a senior, not even close at this level :')
And I bet non of them played it as good as Perlman does here. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Lul in my opinion mozart 3 is much harder
ah I might be choosing this piece for my violin exam!
Do you think someone who has been playing for 12 years and has played Kabalevsky could learn this within a month?? Honest question!
I'm gonna cry. For 2 reasons: "This piece is beautiful!" "This piece is fricking hard to learn!" (I'm learning this piece)
