Hey there so nice to meet you! My path brought me to your video today! I enjoyed it very much, your whole channel looks very good too! I am here to show you my support! I hope you’ll continue to make great videos! Take good care! 🙏🏻 +1! Subscriber 🌺
Ooorrr guys this was so well done! Looks like a great day out and the footage was so well put together! I have fond memories going to Rhyl and the original sun centre as a child! Loved your honesty with it all and sharing your memories was really nice! Bloody brilliant 👍❤️💋🐣 Happy Easter! X Jill xx
Thank you Jill. The old sun centre was certainly a great place. So many people have such fond memories of that place. Around here it really was the first of its kind, and so cool and such a treat to go there! Thank you so much for watching and Happy Easter - have a great week 🍻
Rhyl reminds me of Atlantic City New Jersey. Hopefully it will be restored to its formal glory, it looks like a fun place to visit! Great video, guys so cool you were given the backstage tour! ~Cara 😊
I’ve not been there, but have heard the same kind of things said about it. It was so random to end up backstage … my friends dance school was in it, so I was keeping my head down hoping none of the kids recognised me 🤣. Thanks for joining us once again 🍻
Brilliant video. So great to see an upbeat positive promotion of the town of my youth and all the nostalgic memories you have created with this. Fantastic!
Thanks Richard. Poor Rhyl doesn’t half get bad press and yes it has declined as a seaside town, but we have so many fond memories of it and it will always have a special place on our heart. Thanks for watching 🤣
Thanks for joining us. Rhyl will always have a special place in our hearts as we both have great memories as kids and we’ve both worked there too. It’s looking better than it did 10 yrs ago but I think that old seaside town feel has gone forever. Thanks for watching 🍻
Wow that's really cool and interesting awesome place to see my friend. Keep it up and more vidz to come. Stay Safe and healthy always both of you. Have a wonderful day ahead
Another brilliantly put together video Rach and Wills 😊👏👍. We really appreciated your honesty. We have lots of good memories of visiting Rhyl, including taking our niece and nephew to the old sun centre when they were little, that was so much fun😊. It is a shame to see these seaside towns decline, but we don't think it is as bad as people say, and we were chuffed to see that some money has been invested in the town since we last visited. Really cool to hear about your connections to Rhyl too at the theatre😊👍. Thanks for another great watch, can't wait to see what you guys do next! Hope you have a good week, Shell and Pete
Ah thanks guys. We both have such fond memories of it as kids and it’s so sad to see how it is these days. It’s definitely better than it was 10 years ago, but has a long way to go yet. It must have been amazing in the 1920’s. We’re going to check out the air show this year and see what it’s like on its busiest day!! Thanks for watching and have a fantastic week. 🍻
Ah thank you.’it has a certain charm and I hope it finds its former glory one day. We have such fond memories from our childhoods of Rhyl. Thanks for watching 🍻
Man, I've been busy and missed a few of your vids. But it's nice to see you both healthy and comedian hubby back in business, lol! It's nice to see the expansive beach, and it looks like you'll never get bored. Lots of entertainment.
Ah thanks so much and don’t worry, we are very behind on watching videos too!! Work just gets in the way -I wouldn’t call Wills a comedian!!! Thanks for watching 🍻
L34 greetings from your friend watching from Hong Kong. Oh! Wow! What a great arena that was my dear friends! The place was definitely amazing. Many stuff to buy with. Lovely place to visit. Yes, exploring the city fascinating history and rich culture while having fun. Thanks for touring us my dear friends. Keep safe. Have a wonderful adventure! More power!😊
Wow Hong Kong, now that looks a fascinating place that we’d love to visit. Thanks for watching our video. We’re looking forward to re checking out Rhyl during re air show to see what it’s like busy!! Thanks for watching 🍻
Cheers to the good times! 🍻 This was an awesome video from start to finish, what a great idea, having grown up in a seaside town that changed so much in the time we lived there it would be cool to venture back and take a trip down memory lane like you guys did. It was lovely hearing your old stories from your times there, it was a real insight, but whatever you felt about how it had changed for the better or worse what came across from every second you were there was your unconditional love for the place. The sincerity was awesome but what was even better was the editing, every shot, felt timed to perfection and intentional. Just loved it, exceptionally professional and I imagine this video will find cross the spectrum appeal! Huge like from us! 👍👍
Thank you for that lovely comment. Thank you so much for watching. She’s a faded beauty now, but there is still so much to love. We really hope that the money being poured in helps. Sadly so many of todays planners/designers miss the heart of the old bygone years and you end up with a totally sterile place! I hope that doesn’t happen. It will be interesting to see what it’s like at the air show this year. Thank you for your kind comments about our editing. We absolutely love the editing process so this has made us super happy. Happy Easter and thank you again. 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint truly brilliant, i dont think anyone will find fault with it, nice way of giving credits to the old photos you uncovered too, just exceptionally professional from start to finish. The level of polish on display was indicative of a great TV documentary when done well. Incredible time and effort you poured into this one from a place of love. Awesome job.
@@PostcardAndAPint The town centre is faded because it depends on visitors in the extended season, and they're going to better resorts. The seafront can't be faded, as it's an entirely contemporary promenade, unlike almost anywhere else.
You guys are so good at this!! It must have bought back so many, mostly, wonderful memories!! You covered so much in one video, no wonder you both had sore feet!! It looked pretty good to me, there's obviously a lot of changes going on, for the better one would hope!!😀👍💯
Ah thanks Robbie. I don’t know what we did different on this one, but it seems to be popular!! Thanks so much for watching. Rhyl has its own unique charm and still had its good bits in there. Have a great weekend. 🍻
Hello my friend awesome video this is very exciting and have more fun the place is so nice perfect for exploring nice walking tour around this place and enjoyed it, great sharing my friend.
Another great film guys. 👍🏻. I remember going to Rhyl as a child. Only thing I can remember is the oil on the beach. 🤷🏻♂️. Like you say there a lots of nice parts the harbour being one of them. 👌🏻. Hopefully with some more considerate development it will be considered a more desirable seaside town. Thanks for showing us everything. Really good to hear your memories of the theatre too. Take care both. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️. Watto & Kim.
Thanks for watching guys! Man you’ve just reminded me about the oil on the beach, I remember that too! The best building are still the old ones, so I hope they don’t pull down any more of those! Fingers crossed it can return to its former glory one day! Have a great week
Enjoyable video, I like the upbeat music so you have an extra subscriber. Used to stay in a caravan in Prestatyn as a kid and visit Rhyl was so bad it's memorable.
Ah thank you and welcome to the channel. I’m sure you had some great times in Prestatyn, sorry if we dredged up any awful childhood Rhyl memories! We have a soft spot for the place and hope the money going in is going to help it recover. Thanks so much for watching 🍻
We enjoyed the tour of Rhyl, Rachel and Wills. The old pier looked like fun! Too bad it's gone. Loved the backstage tour of both of your pasts! Rhyl didn't look bad it looked like a fun place. It's too bad some of the things are gone and some a little run down. A town has to continue smart updates but yet still preserve it's history. They've done some of this. Looks like there's still some to be done. Thanks for bringing us along!
Thanks for joining us both. Yes it’s not all bad, it’s just so vast along the seafront it can feel absolutely desolate!! We’re glad you enjoyed your tour with us. Have a great week 🍻
I really enjoyed taking a walk down memory lane with you two. Incredible that you "bumped" into an old friend and just end up backstage. The personal memories were fun to relive with you. I giggled a little with the ear piercing story. Cheers to good memories
Ah thank you. I know, can you believe we just bumped into him and ended up backstage! We loved taking a trip down memory Lane - Wills hasn’t worn an earring since (to be honest he’d look stupid, don’t tell him I said that!!). Thanks so much for joining us 🍻
Well I never!!! I've been to Rhyl. Yes, Gladys and Aneira on the road trip through Wales booked a BnB in Rhyl. It was fantastic. Dinner at a family restaurant along the promenade. We did get quite a negative reaction from others when we mentioned going to Rhyl. I'm so glad you have shown so much more than we've seen. If we'd had an extra day we would have explored more. So thank you, Rhyl isn't all bad at all. Thanks for this. Loved it. We don't regret having a stay over in Rhyl at all. 👍 🤩 🇳🇿 🙋♀️ 🇳🇱
I remember watching that one and thinking - oh my they seem to quite like it!!! Yes it has seen better days, but for many people it holds so many fond memories.
Hi Guys, you did an incredible job with this video 😊 I think Rhyl looks very interesting and I love the fact that town seems to honour its heritage and history. Wonderful to hear about your connections to this seaside resort, I enjoyed that element of the video especially 👍😃 I think a lot of seaside resorts in the UK have lost their spark over the last twenty years. Would be so cool to see it as it once was 😊
Ah thank you so much. It was fun to wander down memory Lane. You’re so right, there are so many seaside towns that have been turned into ghost towns by the package holiday! Fingers crossed Rhyl can return to its former glory one day! Thanks for watching and Happy Easter 🍻
How can it have honoured it's heritage and history when the council have demolished everything in favour of blanket redevelopment. In the '80s, Rhyl would have been on a par with Skegnees- now there's no comparison.
@@PostcardAndAPint Package holidays had no effect on British resorts. If they had, there would have been a loss of seaside tourism starting in the early-'80s, and increasing. Instead, British resorts continued to gradually expand at the same rate they had since, at least, 1970.
My day had been dreadful, but thanks to you, it is now much better. This is definitely one of the best videos I have watched today! This is awesome and I love it! 🥰💕I will surely go back for more! Enjoyed it a lot. Fully watched! 🥰💖
This was a fantastic video great editing great humour filming and brilliant narration .just love your tongue in cheek vibes that run through your videos .this place reminds me of eastbourne very run down but nice in a strange way. in a nutshell brilliant video guys
Thank you so much Simon. We both loved the place as kids so it’s a shame to see it so desolate.fingers crossed it can lose its reputation in future. Thanks for your kind words about our video. 🍻
Been living in Rhyl since the late 90s, and spent most summers of the 90s here too, and this pretty much summarises the problems with the area. People are focused on its heyday and how parts of the town have "survived" where in fact they're standing in the way of it getting its second wind. I'm all for celebrating the area's past grandeur and reflecting on how good things were but when locals, tourists and DCC use the nostalgia factor to paralyse change in the area, it prevents us from moving on, improving the area and shaking the glorious title of the UK's worst tourist town. There are many ways that the area's history and traditions can be remembered without having to look at dilapidated eyesores on practically every street in the town centre.
Thanks for watching Ryan and you’re absolutely right, it’s never going to be what it was, but hopefully with all the development it will be something to be proud of. I believe they’ve started work on the balloon thing next to the theatre. We’re looking forward to seeing that finished and it will fill in that gap on the front too! We love Rhyl for the memories we have there, and it will always be special to us. We do however love the older surviving buildings in town like the town hall, pillared church and the bingo hall. I’m sure with careful development the old and new can sit hand in hand and compliment each other. We hope to check out the air show this year and see Rhyl on its busiest day. Thanks for watching our Vlog and taking time to comment. Cheers 🍻
Why did the hay-day ever stop though? The beach is beautiful and the people are lovely... Its almost like everyone just gave up. I am sounding like my parents now lol x
Nice to now about this coastal town. The sites like the town hall and the clock tower look great. Hope Rhyl regains its fame to become a popular tourist town soon. Take care!
Thanks for watching. There is a great town in there, it’s just a shame some of it is so run down. We hope it can lose its reputation too. We’re glad you enjoyed it 🍻
Wow what a good video of Rhyl and very positive. You've mixed the good with the bad without dragging Rhyl down. It was quite funny in parts n that girl is hilarious, she made me chuckle a few times. Great video well done!
Thank you so much Carolyn, we’re glad you enjoyed it and we certainly didn’t want to trash Rhyl at all as we have such great memories from the past and there is still plenty of good! Glad you find Rach entertaining! Cheers for watching 🍻
Hi guys thanks for the tour and you're right, Rhyl has some really good places like Marine Lake and the harbour and the nature reserve and the lovely wide open sea front, and its great that they are spending so much money on it and tearing down so much of it and before long it will be back to its former glory once again . I like how you give an honest review of these places 🙂 👍Happy Easter 💜
Yes you’re right. The lake is lovely, but the signs around it at sits entrance are so tired. We both said Rhyl needs a dam good jet wash!! 🤣. Let’s hope the completion of the seafront helps poor old Rhyl as some of it is just gorgeous. Happy Easter 🍻
Hi Rach and Wills, On the contrary, I found the spots and structures you've shown us very interesting, from the Pavilion Theatre to the end of the harbor and everything in between are worth exploring when in Rhyl! Enjoyed this showcase!😊
What a rhylly good video Rach & Wills! I love your narration, so funny throughout, you're both such interesting people, working in the theatre business too! How exciting!! I have to say i've never been to Rhyl, it does really remind me of welsh seaside towns though, just seems abit more less touristy and unloved, but i think that adds to the charm! Amazing heading in the arcades, always lots of classics and fond memories of beach holidays in the UK! I really liked the memory lane art sculpture, looks like it was once such a nice place to visit in the summer! Always you both show us some gorgeous and interesting places with your funny personalities along the way, thank you for sharing this :) 💗🙌💫
Thank you so much for watching. It was fun taking a stroll down memory Lane. (A bit random ending up backstage at a Panto, but there you go!!). We are looking forward to attending the air show this year to see Rhyl ok it’s busiest day of the year!! There certainly were some retro machines in those arcades! Let’s hope Rhyl gets the love it deserves in the coming years! Thanks for such a lovely comment. Have a great week 🍻
"That sounds like a fair swap" hahaha...love your end of video jokes! Rhyl looks like it has some 'real' character and charm ,despite its reputation. Thanks for the entertaining walk about.👍👍
Funny there was another Rhyl video we watched, loved this one.years ago we visitied rhyl in our motorhome on the way to scotland. When we was there it was like a ghosttown nearly everything was shut.it reminded us of jaywick in essex=needs ALOT of tlc, certain parts of isle of wight are like that, and covid hasnt helped.have a mega easter and stay safe debs xx
Thanks Debs. It’s such a shame as it was so vibrant when we were kids! Even though there were a fair few people there, it still felt empty and vast! We’ll check out the air show this year and see if it’s any better at the height of summer!! Now we’ve got a date with your channel tonight!! Have a brilliant week 🍻
We were there last month and were really disappointed. It was low season so wondered what high season was like as they have obviously invested in the front, it sounds like it is probably way better/busier. YTS crumbs that brings back memories!! Happy Sunday 🙋♀
I know, it’s such a vast seafront, so with no one there it’s absolutely desolate. We are hoping to attend the air show this year, so it will be interesting to see what it’s like at the height of summer at its biggest event!! YTS - shaking our age there 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for watching and Happy Easter 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint I know gives it away a bit, but I'm there with you! Hopefully, you'll film in the summer as I'll be interested to see the difference.
The Town hall is stunning. Looks like most of the original Rhyl has been lost. The amusement place looked like a lot of fun. 10:44 nice piece of architecture. Some lovely old homes along the beach. Nice little rendevous around Rhyl. Happy Easter Rachel and Will. 🐣🙏🏽👍🏽
You’re so right. All the originally buildings left are stunning, sadly they are getting fewer and fewer. We do love an arcade!! Thanks for watching - have a great week 🍻
hahah i absolutley loved this guys! it was rhylllly good :) i loved learning about all the little things of the area you are familiar with and your humor alwways makes me laugh! will tryna workout knew i was in for a good video 😅 another great one guts thank you for making me smile :)
Rhyl doesn't have many arcades compared to other resorts. A couple have been demolished recently. It used to have many. Skegness is a smaller town than Rhyl and they call that Skeg Vegas.
Another great video my friends! Very entertaining and informative as always!! The only time I've been to Rhyl, I didn't stop there! I had intended to, but changed my mind when I got there! 😊👍
@@PostcardAndAPint There's no part of the entire seafront and promenade that is more than 20 years old, and tens of millions have been spent since then, so, you're comments make no sense. It's the least successful resort and the most redeveloped.
Ah thank you. We would love to visit the Philippines one day, it looks such a beautiful country. Thanks for watching our video. We’re glad you enjoyed it 🍻
This is a super awesome video. I have never been to Rhyl so found it very interesting. The seaside looks so nice, wish I was there tbh. Keep up the great work. Excellent 💛
I've lived here for nine years and it's horrible. This is from someone who loves seaside resorts, not a detractor. I stayed in Southend at Easter, Saturday to Tuesday, and it was completely rammed: Rhyl was empty when I left.
Loved this. I spent every weekend in the 80s in Rhyl visiting my ex who used to do a summer season every year at the Gaiety Theatre. After show drinks in the Westminster Hotel and Saturday nights at The Bistro.
That sounds wonderful! We both remember the theatre building, the old sun centre and the monorail. It’s such a shame what’s happened there, although there is a lot of money going in to it! It’s amazing on the airshow day to see Rhyl full and bustling - apart from that day though, we’ve not seen it like it used to be in the 1970’s and 80’s . Cheers for watching 🍻
Thanks. I love your posts. I remember our Sunday School trips to Rhyl in the 60s and the fair in its heyday. Loved the nights out at The Bistro in the 80s, and Mr and Mrs Trehearn welcoming people into the club. Peter is one of my FB friends and you can tell how proud he is of Rebecca. I remember after hours lock ins in The Barrell when Ann and Don Dixon ran the pub. Sad to see how some of the town has been neglected but hopefully it's soon on the up@@PostcardAndAPint
@@brianroberts5048 Rebecca has done so well! I remember teaching her movement in the bistro when she was about 13 and just starting out. It’s such a shame the Bistro has gone. Thanks for your kind words about our channel. 🍻
It's so good to see that you showed Rhyl and What it has in a good way. Not just like everyone saying it's a dump. When u take your time to see Rhyl it's sound place
We have so many fond memories of Rhyl and it doesn’t half get bad press! Yes, it has its run down bits and tarty bits, but it also has some amazing bits and I hope the money being spent will help more people the return. We’re hoping to attend the air show this year to see it on its busiest day. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Cheers 🍻
It's sad that any place is called 'the worst...' Rhyl seems to have some nice points to it and it's good that the local government and community want to improve it further. The beach area is huge, the Victoria era terrace houses seem to have been preserved and perhaps renovated (?) they don't look boarded up and abandoned. The memorial gardens were lovely and the promenade was nice as well. Anything made in concrete doesn't age well, I hate brutalist architecture with a passion, so I agree that monument and the seating area need to go. The Arcades to me just screamed British Seaside town, very retro especially the carpets!
Thanks for this lovely comment. It was wonderful to stroll down memory Lane. Yes the Victorian facade has mostly survived. Sadly they have been converted in to many flats, so whereas they would have been B&B’s they are now many many flats! We hope the money going in will really help, but at the moment the old and new just don’t mix! We are looking forward to checking it out during the air show to see if Rhyl at its busiest is better! Yep retro carpets!!! So you can’t see all the stains 🤮. Thanks so much for watching 🍻
Rhyl. All of my childhood holidays were at Rhyl late 60's, early 70's. As a kid I loved it. The pier, although closed was a focal point. There weren't many cars, which was great. I just went out in the morning on my own, and wandered about. There was a side street second-hand shop with a birds egg collection in the window, which stated, 'Not for Sale'. It was a real novelty seeing and hearing gulls, living in Coventry the rest of the year. The local slots was called, Fun Land', and it was. The old fun fair was at the noisy end of town, as my mum called it. You could smell the doughnuts and candy floss way before you could see it. I seem to remember hearing, 'Coco' by the Sweet, another year it was, 'Johnny Reggae' (he's a real tasty geezer) Strangely, I don't remember a harbour. I went out on a boat on the lake. It was so windy that I was pinned to the far shore, and the man had to tow me back with his motor boat. What fun! The indoor botanical gardens, had an African grey parrot, called Peter, which bit me. I still have the scar! I suppose nowadays there would be a claim made for compensation, or something. But back then my mum told me to suck my finger until it stopped bleeding. I remember learning to roller skate on the front, paid my sixpence or whatever it was, and an hour later I'd got the reddest neck you've ever seen as sunscreen was a thing of the future. There was also a place you could hire a pedal cart, or a bike..that was fun, being an only child. Are the bowling greens still there? I drove through Rhyl about 20 years ago, and was kind of disappointed by the nose to tail car park the front had become. I don't suppose I would be all that bothered about the changes, if I visited as a child again, but looking with adult eyes, Rhyl seemed to have lost something....or maybe it's just me. But the best thing ever, not having any money, was digging holes in the wonderful sandy beach. Happy days 🙂
Thank you so much. We feel so privileged that you’ve shared this memory with us. Both of us have such fond memories of Rhyl as children, and you’re probably right, the kids that are enjoying their time there today won’t see the tatty bits, they’ll just be loving the time they spent there making memories. The bowling greens are indeed still there, they’re up by the new pub Myn Yr Haul - I think that’s where they always were. We’ve got another Rhyl video out this Sunday as we went to the air show last week. I hope you enjoy that one and we manage to stir up some more memories from what sounds like absolutely idyllic times spent there. Thanks you again 🍻
Rhyl cool! Rhyl great! Is this for Rhyl? A Rhyl fine place indeed! Okay, Bruce, enough all ready...just keep it Rhyl...oops, couldn't help myself! lol Hope your Easter weekend has been great! Bruce and Otis
I've never been to Rhyl, so I was interested to see if it really lived up to its bad reputation. I enjoyed your vlog, and I think you presented the good and the bad very fairly. Growing up near the coast in Norfolk, I'm very familiar with small seaside towns, and the the large seaside resort of Gt Yarmouth. I must say, Rhyl did look rather unloved and soul less in places, but it did have some good things about it too. There was some interesting old buildings and a wonderful large expanse of beach. So sad they lost the funfair. What I really noticed is the large amount of sand on the pavements and promenade. Is it really windy there? Another fun and informative video. Cheers!
Thanks for watching. It’s very windy there!! They have a massive wind farm in the sea as it’s so windy. Yes, it’s lost a lot of its former glory, but we’re hoping that with the money that’s being poured in, it will shake off its reputation! Have a great week 🍻
Rhyl has had more invested in it than any other resort, through EU money. Obviously, everything on the promenade is new, as you can see from the video. The run-down town centre is due to the loss of visitors as the redevelopments have proved unpopular.
Rhyl and Great Yarmouth have the same promenade layout. But Great Yarmouth has lots of attractions, so it's a much more fun place. Rhyl's council redevelopment spoilt all that. Ryde's layout is similar.
I have to admit we’ve only really ever driven through Rhyl on the way to somewhere else! Apart from one day when it was very busy, we stopped off and saw Prince Charles opening something! Thanks for sharing your memories. The white feather at the Savoy was so poignant. It seems we may have missed some good bits 👍🏻
Thanks so much guys. We have such fond memories of Rhyl and although it has declined, there is still so much good to see. I liked the feather shot as well! Thanks for watching. Have a great week 🍻
We love discount stores! That seaside town reminds us of Atlantic City here in the US. Once a great seaside town that struggles to be great again! Thanks for the video...interesting!
Ah someone else has said that. I’ve never been to Atlantic city, but have heard that said about it!! Let’s hope they both have their glory again one day 🍻
I wondered whether there was a European or American resort that resembled Rhyl, as a lot of English and Welsh resorts' have a double they've long been compared to. All I know is that Rhyl has become a smaller, emptier version of Great Yarmouth. (GY actually is quite great.)
Rhys didn't really look that bad. Hopefully the area gets some improvements. But I can still imagine having a nice holiday there even as it is. Thanks for taking us on this tour of this adequate seaside town!
Ah thank you. Loads of people have a lovely holiday here every year and it’s situated in a great place to explore more of north wales. Let’s hope the money going in really helps. Thanks for watching 🍻
Ahh memories of Rhyl. We used to holiday at Pontins at Prestatyn. I remember the paddling pools and there was an amusements that had a scary clown out the front that rocked back and forth and laughed
Ah Pontins Prestatyn!! We have been there to see one of my ex pupils do a show there!! Both Prestatyn and Rhyl were so popular back on the day. I hope this video brought back some memories for you too. Thanks for watching 🍻
Aww... it looks like at one time it may have been a bit grand. You know what's odd... it's not an exact match, but there's actually something about the quasi-modern elements along the waterfront that reminds me of the city I live in. It also has these kind of white-washed, geometric pieces everywhere that sometimes works, sometimes feels like an awkward fit. Well, at least Rach got a good supply of arcades in, and it was nice to see you both reconnecting with your own pasts in the theater scene there. Thanks for this folks!
Ah thanks so much! There’s a Rhyl in Canada!!! Who knew!!! 🤣🤣. I certainly did get my fill of arcades in! I won nothing though 🥲. Thanks for watching. I keep looking at your gorgeous recipes and crying as we’re on a diet as we got too fat!! Any keto friendly recipes welcome!! 🍻
Wales is beautiful! I remember Rhyl from holidays when I was a kid (400 years ago). The beach at Rhyl is still stunning. There are some seriously ugly 'modern' buildings in Rhyl and no-one seems to be there, ever... It makes me a bit sad to see the place now. There is nothing left of the history of the place apart from a few postcards in cement and an amusment arcade from the late 70's. It is a car-park by the sea. It is such a beautiful beach. (They should remove that ugly tower)
Thanks so much for watching. I hope we managed to retrieve some happy childhood memories for you. We have such a soft spot for Rhyl. Like you we have so many happy memories. Living not too far away and working there sometimes, it’s definitely better than it was 10 years ago, but I think the old seaside charm is gone I’m afraid. But as you say, great beach!! Thanks so much for watching. Cheers 🍻
@@AutoAlligator oh no!!! We’ve got an England Vlog tomorrow and then the following week another Welsh one! Fingers crossed that one makes you feel happier 🍻
It looks like a great place! Maybe it's just that you all are great at making videos! Very much enjoyed your video. You all do a really great job! Is your name Wills or Wells? My nephew is named Wells, so I am rooting for that one. It's unusual. Thanks for stopping by our channel so we could find yours!
Ah thanks guys. His names Wills (well actually it’s Matthew - surname Williams - so known as Wills!!) Wells is a cool name. Thanks for watching. Rhyl has its own unique charm, we do like it, but it has seen better days! Thanks so much for watching 🍻
Fell in love with Rhyl in the late 80s, could not believe its demise by 1990! Have retuned more recently and have been amazed by the money and life they have injected into the place. Most high streets these days are on a downwards spiral, it's just the trend. Prestatyn has lost the "De" prefix and the new Colwyn Bay looks stunning along with most of the North Wales seaside towns. It takes time to lose stigma but it will always have a fond place in my heart. A cycle ride from the "Blue Bridge" to Talacre along the coast is on my bucket list...and retiring to this area from the East Midlands is my pipe dream!!!
Thanks so much for watching. We both have such fond memories of Rhyl in the 80’s. It’s certainly better now than it was in the 90’s, but it’s still so sad to see when you see old footage of Rhyl in the 1920’s - 1960’s. But, the bike ride you mentioned will still be fabulous along that stunning beach. Thanks for watching 🍻
I DO love fish & chips by the sea... unless there are seagulls about ;-) Sorry about the diet. I feel your pain. I'm currently on the "pre-vacation" diet, since we leave in 3 weeks from today!
Great ligule video and with another of investment Rhyl could be great again. A lick of paint and some planted trees and am flowers and shrubs would make a massive difference.
I think you’re right about trees and flowers!! I think they’re new attraction next to the old sun centre opens next week, the big balloon ride. We’re hoping to check it out the week after! Thanks for watching 🍻
Have the most brilliant time!! Their new attraction opens next week. A balloon ride next to where the old sun centre was. Apparently will give you an amazing view across the beach and town!! Cheers for watching 🍻
Not fair, why am I not there with you. I feel cheated by living in such a bland place, there is always so much to do and I love all the places you take us to. You guys really are the best!!!
I bet you don’t live in a bland place!! Thanks for a lovely comment. Fingers crossed your channel will make you a fortune and you can come and visit!! 🍻
Wow this video was packed with some awesome stuff! Rachel, I love your dance moves. Great video!!
Hahahaha still got it - not!!! Thanks for watching 🍻
Hey there so nice to meet you! My path brought me to your video today! I enjoyed it very much, your whole channel looks very good too! I am here to show you my support! I hope you’ll continue to make great videos! Take good care! 🙏🏻 +1! Subscriber 🌺
Thank you so much, we’re so glad you found us! Thank you for your kind words and we’re so glad you enjoyed the video 🍻
Great video. Such a shame so much of the town has been lost like the pier and the old hotel! As usual, thanks of taking us along with you :)
Thanks for your kind words. We’re glad you enjoyed it 🍻
Another brilliantly put together video Rach and Wills 😊👏👍.
Wonderful video.Had many a happy holiday there and in Pontins,Prestatyn in the 70's.
Ah thank you.’it has a certain charm and I hope it finds its former glory one day. We have such fond memories from our childhoods of Rhyl. Thanks for watching 🍻
Pontin's is exactly the same as in the '70s. Everyone says that.
Oh fish n chips by the sea, love it. The Marine Lake is so beautiful. Thank you so much for the tour. I really enjoyed it. Happy Easter to you both.
Thanks so much for watching. You can’t beat fish and chips by the sea can you. Thanks for this lovely comment 🍻
Great video! So much good information. The beach looks like it be fun to go to and listen to a concert in the summer!
Thanks for watching. We’re hoping to make the air show this year to see it on a busy day 🍻
Man, I've been busy and missed a few of your vids.
Absolutely awesome place! Very informative video. Thanks for the tour. Big Like...Have a nice weekendd!
Thanks so much for watching x
Thank you for sharing and i will keep visiting your Channel, have a nice day!! :) keep safe.
Thank you for watching 🍻
Woow! amazing job!👋 so stunning, thank you for sharing.
Than you so much for watching 🍻
Hello my friend awesome video this is very exciting and have more fun the place is so nice perfect for exploring nice walking tour around this place and enjoyed it, great sharing my friend.
Thanks for joining us 🍻
Another great film guys.
Hi guys! Nice to see you! It's been a while! Catching up on your videos and travels!
We really need to catch up with you too. Thanks for stopping by 🍻
Enjoyable video, I like the upbeat music so you have an extra subscriber.
Thank you for taking us around 🙏🏾🤗
Look like nice place to be, old building 🤩👍🏾 stunning
Thanks for watching Martha 🍻
Very beautiful and interesting video ,i enjoed it !!! Stay safe and healthy 😀
Have a good night 😃
Thank you 🍻
I really enjoyed taking a walk down memory lane with you two.
You guys have the most fun I reckon. Thanks for taking us to Rhyl.
We always have fun, even when in a slightly dubious place!!! 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for watching 🍻
My day had been dreadful, but thanks to you, it is now much better. This is definitely one of the best videos I have watched today! This is awesome and I love it! 🥰💕I will surely go back for more! Enjoyed it a lot. Fully watched! 🥰💖
Ah glad we cheered you up!! Thanks for watching 🍻
Heyyy Heyyy ! North Wales looks beautiful !! I had fun watching you guys !!! Amazing Video 🥰🥰🥰
Ah thank you. There are definitely prettier parts to north wales, but the beach is great wherever you go. Thanks for watching 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint Beaches are much more beautiful every where else but here in USA !!! Just being honest !
Hopefully it does return to its lovely hay day someday! Awesome video, friends! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Here’s hoping! Thanks for watching and your kind comment 🍻
Waw cool video explore the town marine.happy days very beautifull sis.i love it
Thanks so much for watching 🍻
It’s a good point. Focus on making the town great again
It's full of c u n ts.
Lol - love this - informative and entertaining - giggled more than once! Way to go guys!
Ah thank you. We’re glad you enjoyed it. We had fun making it and it was great to stroll down memory Lane. Thanks for watching 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint The sign only went up in the last couple of years or so.
Very interesting! 👍

Hi Rach and Wills, On the contrary, I found the spots and structures you've shown us very interesting, from the Pavilion Theatre to the end of the harbor and everything in between are worth exploring when in Rhyl! Enjoyed this showcase!😊
Ah thanks Jean, it does have its own unique charm. Thanks for watching 🍻
Informative commentary and well shown . It's a lovely town.
Thanks for watching. We do have a soft spot for it!!

Have a brilliant week 🍻
awesome content i love watching it..and useful tutorial thanks for sharing❤👍👍❤💚👍👍
Thanks for joining us 🍻
We were there last month and were really disappointed.

Rhyl good video! That town hall looks cool! Is that a proper arcade or is it a casino?
Rhyl glad you watched!! We call it an arcade, it’s definitely not a casino. Just very old vintage machines in Rhyl. Thanks so much for watching 🍻
Rhyl doesn't have many arcades compared to other resorts. A couple have been demolished recently. It used to have many. Skegness is a smaller town than Rhyl and they call that Skeg Vegas.
Wowwww… Thank you 🙏🏻 for sharing. Nice to meet you both.. New friend from Germany 🇩🇪. Stay safe always both and stay connected 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

Another great video my friends! Very entertaining and informative as always!! The only time I've been to Rhyl, I didn't stop there! I had intended to, but changed my mind when I got there! 😊👍
Hahaha sounds about right!!! We have brilliant memories as kids,‘it’s a tad tired now! 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint I know such a pity, with a bit of thought it could have been like Barry Island in the 1980,s!!
@@PostcardAndAPint There's no part of the entire seafront and promenade that is more than 20 years old, and tens of millions have been spent since then, so, you're comments make no sense. It's the least successful resort and the most redeveloped.

Cheers 🍻
Omg I loved watching this… the humor made me smile first thing this morning!
Ah thank you. It has its own special charm does Rhyl!! Have a brilliant weekend 🍻

Hello there, like this adventure great sharing
Thank you 🍻
I've never been to Rhyl, so I was interested to see if it really lived up to its bad reputation.

Thanks 4 sharing☄☃⚡🌧🌤🌈🪐☀🌛🌍👍41
Thank you so much for watching 🍻
I have to admit we’ve only really ever driven through Rhyl on the way to somewhere else! Apart from one day when it was very busy, we stopped off and saw Prince Charles opening something! Thanks for sharing your memories. The white feather at the Savoy was so poignant. It seems we may have missed some good bits 👍🏻
Thanks so much guys. We have such fond memories of Rhyl and although it has declined, there is still so much good to see. I liked the feather shot as well! Thanks for watching. Have a great week 🍻
A bit past its hay day, but still has some potential. Thanks for the tour.
It is a bit, but fingers crossed it will return to its glory days one day! Thanks for watching 🍻

Thanks for watching 🍻
the editing in this is great good job
Thank you so much for watching and your lovely comment. 🍻
Aww... it looks like at one time it may have been a bit grand.
RHYL is getting REBORN, NEVER GIVE UP ON SUNNY RHYL!☀️
We’ll always have a soft spot for Rhyl!
Cheers 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint Bless you I absolutely love Wales and the people. I got a bit sad watching the vid about rhyl I'm not gonna lie.
@@AutoAlligator oh no!!! We’ve got an England Vlog tomorrow and then the following week another Welsh one! Fingers crossed that one makes you feel happier 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint I sound like a right miserable English arsehole lol :D x I look forward to it! :)
@@AutoAlligator not at all!! It is sad that Rhyl has declined so much I hope you enjoy tomorrows, it makes me laugh!!
Rhyl's tourism has been falling rapidly and crime is terrible. Seaside resorts' tourism, overall, is very stable and rises slightly each year.
I DO love fish & chips by the sea... unless there are seagulls about ;-) Sorry about the diet. I feel your pain. I'm currently on the "pre-vacation" diet, since we leave in 3 weeks from today!
Sucks about the diet, but how exciting to know you’re going on a big trip!!!
@@PostcardAndAPint indeed!🙌🙌
Great ligule video and with another of investment Rhyl could be great again. A lick of paint and some planted trees and am flowers and shrubs would make a massive difference.
I think you’re right about trees and flowers!! I think they’re new attraction next to the old sun centre opens next week, the big balloon ride. We’re hoping to check it out the week after! Thanks for watching 🍻
My childhood holiday :) I'm going next week!!
Have the most brilliant time!! Their new attraction opens next week. A balloon ride next to where the old sun centre was. Apparently will give you an amazing view across the beach and town!! Cheers for watching 🍻
wow this is just beautiful seems you had fun time have a wonderful day
see you soon
cheers!

You caught me working on my boat at the end , the sail boat without the mast
Yes!!! We were fascinated by all the birds waiting for the boats. Thanks for being on our vid!! Cheers 🍻
