    This was so amazing. Thank you, I'm at loss for words, no idea how to express how grateful I am. I'm currently in a psych ward, going through many bad things. Indeed I've hit the rock bottom, I have to be kept here since I can't stay safe at home. I'm so thankful for this video, and the first part too. It has been working very well and it calms me down very well and I will be using these techniques whenever I feel anxious. Thank you💗

    I really enjoy this one ! It gives you more time to slowly breathe out, which at first can be difficult. I remember the first time we had something similar at yoga, I didn't know how to slowly exhale, I was getting most of the air out at once, so it required a bit of practice. The teacher was doing a longer box breathing, 8 seconds for each, I never managed to pace out the breathe in, so thank you for this version that I can do without struggle !

    Thanks for these tools y’all are so considerate of your audience.
    Breathing exercises remind me of taking a smoking break in a strange way. When you’re anxious it makes sense to have an excuse to go outside and breathe at a party, I wonder if in the future quiet breathing spots wouldn’t make sense instead of “smoking areas.” For the public to go get fresh air and ground. Maybe a little fountain with some smooth surfaces and a little garden. ❤

    • @KateandBree
      @KateandBree Рік тому

      I have chronic asthma. When I was developing fears of never having enough breath, these techniques were taught to me. (Sally is going a bit fast on her second count.) It’s not just beneficial to slowing your parasympathetic system, it helps build up your lung capacity as these exact techniques as used in choirs (also was in choirs for 20+ years.) There’s tons of breathing exercises from those used in yoga practice that’ll strengthen the diaphragm to counting based ones to ones based in meditation.

    ahh yes this one is my go to! box breathing is super hard for me because i’ve grown up singing so my lungs automatically take in heaps of air really quickly and and let it out really slowly so i’m always playing catch up with breathing techniques that have really low breathe out times 😅 took me way too long to realise that’s why they weren’t working for me! thank you all for this one, it’s going in my calm down playlist - your voice never fails to make me feel safe and cared for ❤

    i remember being taught this when i had a panic attack at school in grade 10 after i suffered really bad abdominal pains. we later found out what it was but it was scary when i didn't know. the councilor, who knew me at that point from previous encounters, taught me this and helped me breathe again. they worried my appendix had ruptured but i told them i got this pain a lot which just seemed to freak them out more which freaked me out so i really appreciated her being there a lot.

    would it be possible for you to post these breathing exercises guides in video with only the counting in loop, so that this mini serie is the explanation while the counting-loop versions are maybe 5 minutes long to be used from start to finish in moments when we might need them? this is not to say that these videos aren’t already helpful, because they truly are, but a counting-only video to hear while doing it for a number of minutes would really be a game changer, at least in my opinion. i tend to learn these things but not being able to do them in my actual day to day, because without someone else i feel very lost and i kinda give up even before starting, or maybe after a few breaths. your voice instead is very soothing and really helpful, so i was wondering if it would be possible for you to do. sorry for bothering by the way, i totally understand if it is not something you want to do or have as a video. thank you anyway for all that you already do! i hope you have a very serene and calm day!

    I love that you're doing this series! A breathing technique I just learned about in therapy but haven't seen anywhere else is finger tracing, where you trace your fingers as you breathe (breathing in while tracing up the finger, and out while down the other side) Idk if you've heard of it, or if other people will find it useful, but it's really helpful for me because the physical sensation of tracing my fingers draws my attention to that sensation instead of my own thoughts

      Just commenting to try to explain a bit more, because I had to look it up: you should use a finger from one hand to trace around the other hand, as if trying to draw it (like a little kid would). I hope that is actually helpful, English is not my first language.

    We thought no we are just going to watch and listen. But we felt so comfortable that we went along and it was really calming. Thank you ❤

    I have never really felt comfortable with 478. The exhalation is too long and i find myself unable to stretch it for more than 6-7 counts, meaning there is 1 second where you feel that you are forcing it and that is off-putting. Also I do think I start to get oxygen deprived after 10 cycles or something like that.

    This is wonderful! I've seen so many guided breath videos but your voice is so calming and I loved the things you said after, the editing. Sally and Kya's voice and then Maeri with Kya on screen is just perfect omg. Thank you so much! I came to this relaxed but am now even more relaxed. And will definitely come to this in difficult times. You've found a whole new thing that you are great at! I think you can help so many people with more of this kind of video. Thank you so so much Kya, Sally and Maeri! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ You are true warriors and give so much strength to your audience.
