    Mike Leach is the uncle that drinks a little too much at the reunion and starts saying stuff that you initially ignore, but the more he talks the more sense he makes

    Welcome back to this classic! Don't worry, FSU's snub won't be the last time you're inspired to return to hear this rant. RIP Mike

    I wish Florida State would purchase air time on ESPN and during various bowl games. The ad should just play this with the Seminole logo in the corner of the screen.

    He's right. It's not a playoff. It's an invitational.

      Since the rankings have been so bad I'd like to see some other TV network come forward with their own College Football Playoff. Maybe to counter ESPN CBS, FOX, or NBC could come together and make their own Playoff. I wouldn't be surprised if in 5 to 10 years instead of having a true national champion like the Playoff was supposed to give us it, we end up with a system kind of like before the BCS but instead of having a bunch of different polls and then teams play in bowl games we would have a bunch of different 4 team "Playoffs" done by different Networks. Only thing is ESPN would have an advantage because they have most of the established bowls.

    Sounded like a jab at Bama since they finished third in the SEC yet somehow made it to last year's playoff.

    Love Mike Leach. Calling out the corruption in the committee. Thing might as well be called the Alabama invitational - ie. Alabama, whether they play anybody of note or not and we'll invite 3 other teams along with 'em. Corruption at its finest.

    This is proof positive that most of the people that get labeled as off the wall or unconventional are usually the smartest people in the room.. I hate that he is not with us today to give us more of his words of wisdom to keep us entertained until next football season.. RIP Coach you are truly missed

    He's right final 2017 rankings proved that the committee's rankings are just as valid in regards to determining the National Champion as a Top 25 Ranking by any other group of 10 or more people who follow college football.

    conference champions should make the playoffs. If you don't make it, you don't make it. How hard is that? Sometimes the best team loses, it happens in the NFL all the time. So what?

    • @kylewilson2819
      @kylewilson2819 5 років тому +6

      Sam Atwood The electoral college exists to balance the power of states with 50X the number of people of other states. California should not have a bigger voice than Wyoming or Nebraska just because it has more people living there.

    But here's the thing. Every March, we have this madness to decide a college basketball national champion. A COMMITTEE picks 64 teams plus two play in games for a total of 68 teams. The first thing that happens after selection is complaints about the 6 or 7 so xalled bubble teans that did not get in.....there's some kind of "conspiracy" that they did not get in. So it's funny to watch Mike Leach pretend as if a college footvall system would be any different just because he says so. And if the FCS and lower divisions could have bowl games with the same pay outs that FBS get, they would be doing the same thing.

    • @todoynada5468
      @todoynada5468 6 років тому +4

      You're an idiot. Every Division I college basketball team has the opportunity to play its way into the NCAA tournament by winning its conference. Those are guaranteed spots decided ON THE COURT -- and that takes up 32 of the 68 spots, and no committee has any say as to whether or not those conference champions get in The committee is for the remaining 36 spots and for seeding. In football, ZERO teams have the opportunity to play their way in -- it says so right in the selection rules: "No team automatically qualifies." As if that's a good thing.
      So, know what you're talking about before you post.

    • @stocksd6
      @stocksd6 6 років тому

      You should look in the mirror when you use the word idiot, Tod. Lower college basketball conferences only get the tournament champion invited to march madness. So periodically, you see a team at or below a .500 record have a chance to win a national championship simply because they have a hot tournament over a team that had a regular season of 22-4 (or similiar) in the regular season. A committee SHOULD have a chance to address that a situation like that (similiar to the CFP selection committtee addressing wether Alabama had a better case over Ohio State). Next time, apply some more critical thought before you post. That way you won't look so much like a clown. LOL

    • @todoynada5468
      @todoynada5468 6 років тому +5

      Exactly. Conference champions are guaranteed a spot by virtue of winning their conference, as opposed to the inaccuracy you originally stated: "A COMMITTEE picks 64 teams plus two play in games for a total of 68 teams."
      Since you think that is a bad system, it's clear from your logic that you think the NFL also should stop guaranteeing playoff spots for division champions and instead have a committee decide who gets in and who doesn't. After all, some NFL teams play more difficult schedules than other teams, so it's easy to argue that a 10-6 team that doesn't win its division might be better than an 11-5 team that does win its division.
      In fact, as I type this, I'm starting to like this idea so much I think they should just stop playing the games altogether. Coaches should submit rosters and gameplans to a committee, then the committee can anoint winners and losers based on that information. To keep fans happy, the games -- based on the committee's predetermined results -- can be simulated via the latest version of Madden football and played on television for all to watch.
      Not only is everyone still entertained, but you do away with the problem of concussions and other injuries.
      Thank you for enlightening me!!!
