One thing I totally forgot to mention in the video is that the regular AOP bag from the US provider MWW has three size options, so if you create any of those you can choose to offer any size you'd like (or all of them!). The one shown in the video is the large size. I think medium and large might be the more typical sizes but there are some slight price differences between them to be aware of, and you can use your favorite Etsy calculator to set prices accordingly.
Love the video❤️ I just started my print-on-demand journey and found Crafted Threads. They have a ton of designs and it saved me so much time. They have something in every niche. And lifetime updates too!!
Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
Great video - I'm so excited you did a review on these 3 bags, I've always wondered what they actually look like, rather than the mockup photos you see on Printify. Your beach bag is waayyyy cute. Thank you for this super informative video. Please tell Printify you would like to review more products on your channel, you did an excellent job!! Congats on 1,0000 subbies - you should have a million, your channel is perfect!
You're too kind! Printify has offered to keep letting me order samples to review so I am going to take them up on it! I totally agree about seeing the products in person. Thank you!
So great how you broke down the pricing and profit margin! So important to take into account all the fees and shipping. Thanks so much for this. I have a lot of totes in my store. I haven’t sold too much of them yet.
I listed this cotton tote in my Etsy store, only to pull them because the print saturation was horrible. I ordered a sample and was glad I did. I would die if someone ordered. I need to sort this out because the bag is quite nice.
Thank you! I really appreciate the breakdown of each tote. Being able to see the size next to another tote was really important to me. Just getting started offering totes. Really appreciate your review.
I just got my AOP tote bag sample from Printify and I’m honestly disappointed with the quality! First of all the black tote bag is not even black. It’s like a faded black… It’s not even as black as the actual handle And now I’m completely deterred from having a Tote Bags store because I was hoping the all over print tote bag being polyester with cotton handles would be their absolute highest quality tote bag that isn’t the patent leather or the weekend or And at this rate, I could’ve ordered a bunch of tote bags from Amazon in bulk, and then done my own printing. The whole point of doing the all over print tote was that I was going to be able to offer different colored tote bags besides just white or beige So everyone needs to take this into consideration they definitely need to order samples before they decide to start even designing tote bags. I wanted to design so many tote bags because I’m a tote bag person and I have many and I live in Austin Texas so we don’t get plastic bags anymore. They’ve banned plastic bags and everyone comes to the grocery store with their own tote bags And I am just not happy with the quality of the all over print.
Hi! Did you have quality concerns with colors other than black? I'm curious because with all-over-print products, black does not come out really dark. AOP clothing also has this issue, because all AOP is made with a white base fabric so solid black never comes out super deep/dark. I have not had concerns with the print quality of the tote bags for other colors, so I was just curious if you experienced issues with multiple design colors.
Hey there! Great info, and I really like these bags. I'm trying to select multiple colors in printify for one listing, same designs and it will only allow you to choose one color per listing? Any way around that?
I noticed that the note: regarding the white color ink on the bag isn’t on the information anymore so I wondered if you had experienced a change in the print where white is showing.
This is great review and what I was looking for. I would love to offer totes. However, when I look at what the competition is offering, I don't think it compares. I'm not sure what vendor others are using to price them so low and also look better. I need to research this further but your review was helpful. Thanks
Hi! It definitely depends on the niche with bags - some niches all seem to be higher-end looking bags and I don't try to create designs to compete when I see that. But a lot of niches use the basic canvas tote bag and just make fancier looking mockups - that type is a better price on Printify and I sell quite a few of those from Monster Digital, and I use Placeit to make nicer looking mockups for them.
Thanks for another info packed video! Can I request that you do a video on how to manage the shipping profiles in Etsy? I am just leaving them as they appear, but now I have dozens of them! I’m confused about the behind the scenes part of Etsy. Changing shipping profiles, the spot in the listing you can add a sku etc - it makes me nervous to change anything in case I end up with a sale that doesn’t go through the print and send process because I’ve messed with the settings.
I actually have one coming up next about shipping profiles! I use one profile for each type of product (t-shirts, mugs, etc.). If you use Printify, you can select an existing shipping profile at the bottom of the listing edit page when you first publish it to your shop. In your Etsy account, if you go to Settings > Shipping Settings you'll find all your shipping profiles so you can delete any that you don't use and make any edits you need to make to the ones you want to keep. I hope that helps and the video coming up should help too!
Great video. On the AOP TOTE do I click transparent image on Canva or not? The color look a little faded on the mock ups. My second question is I can't tell which mock up is the size of my AOP bag - how do I know if it is medium or large as I don't want to use the wrong scale in the visual. 😀
Thank you! If you're creating the design for the AOP tote, you only need to worry about transparency if you're going to be applying a solid color background to the print area. If your graphic will cover up the full print area with color/design, then it doesn't need to have any transparent area. If you're talking about the mockup images, you also don't need to worry about transparency. In fact, I usually download them as JPG files since they're usually smaller than PNG and should load faster. In the printify designer view, on the right side of the screen you should see the bag sizes options. There might be a drop-down area you have to click on to select which sizes you want to offer. If you have selected more than one size they should be visible in both the designer view and the preview view. The mockups on printify don't show much of a visible difference between the medium and large, so I also use canva to add the measurements in to the mockups for the AOP totes. I know the medium is 16x16 and the large is 18x18, I don't recall the size of the small off the top of my head. But that way it's clear about the size difference even though the photos look pretty much the same. I hope that helps!
Good question! For the regular AOP tote, I use a file with 3000x3000px dimensions for each side and that will go all the way out to the max bleed lines.
this port authority tote bags are out of stock everywhere, and I can't find another supplier with the similar prices and I had to adjust my prices on my store which reduced my traffic to my store :( any suggestions what to do in this type of situations ? Should I have order in bulk next time ? Thank you
They have run out of stock with Monster Digital a few times in the past, but usually they are back in stock within 2-3 days. Hopefully that is the case again this time. I've had some orders fulfilled by Gelato because they have the same bags, but their price is higher so I only did it for orders that were already placed. You can temporarily deactivate the listings in your Etsy shop if you want to avoid getting orders until they are available again. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do until they are back in stock if other providers don't have them available.
@@stesan5140 Gelato is a separate print on demand platform. I use them to fulfill my international orders because they have production partners in over 30 countries and they also have these tote bags. www.gelato.com/
I'm a beginner and confused about how you adjust the sizes, I had to create a separate template 5000 x 3500 as you mentioned so the design fits in the top box then I rotated the bottom but when I matched the two to align the bottom, the design is not perfectly aligned. Does this matter?
Thanks for the good stuff. I really enjoy watching your videos. One suggestion: can you do something about your intros and outros? They are too loud. Thank you.
Thank you for the video. I am struggling when I resize the design on the white tote bag. Small. Medium. Large. I edit them individually, but when I hit preview they are all the same size. Any ideas?
Is there a way to somehow make pictures like on placeit but for free? I need mockups for my canvas totes but most mockups are overpriced. I prefer faces in my mockup as well. Is there a program that can do that?
I know I’m late to this video but it was still helpful two years later! I had a question about the white not printing on natural. Is that only true white (hexcode #ffffff)? If it’s a beige or cream will it still print?
Hi! After creating a draft listing of the item you want a sample of on Printify, on your "My Products" page there is a button at the top of the page that says "Get Samples". You can click on that and then select the products that you want to order samples of. Samples are the regular cost on Printify, they don't do discounts on samples like Printful does.
Hi! Right now I believe Printify only accepts a credit or debit card if you don't have a PayPal account. Here is their help page on setting up payments - you can also contact their support team to ask if there is any other options for payments that aren't listed there. help.printify.com/hc/en-us/articles/4483644218769-How-do-I-set-up-payments-in-Printify-
Hi! On the sample I received of the basic canvas tote, there is a beige colored circle in the background around the books and it was printed. It's not super easy to see, but it's there. They only state in the notes on Printify that white will be transparent (not printed). I have a design on one of them that has some white on mountains that really is supposed to be white, so I changed it to a sliver-ish color and it was printed and looks pretty close to white on the canvas, so that's an option too.
One thing I totally forgot to mention in the video is that the regular AOP bag from the US provider MWW has three size options, so if you create any of those you can choose to offer any size you'd like (or all of them!). This is what I came here for. Really wanted to see how big the large looks and wondered which size is the most popular.
