Ron Capps and Clay Millican are two of the nicest most down to earth guys in drag racing. And the videos you did covering them were two of the best 1320 has done. Great Job!
I’ve watched NHRA for years and Ron Capps has been one of the best guys out there. Straight up a great driver and never has a dirty way about him. I’ve been a Force fan forever but Capps is the man for the future.

This was hands down, my favourite interview on this channel from a proper driver. So many folks are so reserved or the interview doesn’t flow properly due to resistance... but this was great! Really great job Kyle and Ron is such a dude.
The way he articulated the experience of a funny car made me see it in a whole new level of understanding. I respect the higher drag classes but don’t at all follow them, but this interview had me pay full attention. Rewinding and pausing looking about the flames the way he described and the way the car bucks as well. Just insane.
Man, Top Fuel and Funny Cars never get old!! I've been fortunate enough to grow up near a NHRA track and got to see these cars run all the time. If you haven't seen, heard or felt these cars from stands, make the trip!!! You wont regret it . These cars will take your breath away. GOD BLESS AMERICA
I don’t think you could’ve picked a better driver to interview! Ron has always spent time talking to each and every one of his fans and couldn’t be more down to Earth!
Look at how well respected 1320 video is, from the streets of Mexico to Top Fuel Funny Cars. Don't hear that about other media outlets from drivers often.
Back in like 1999, Ron was on my online Drag Racing team; Burnout: Championship Drag Racing. We'd set his flopper up and he'd race in our weekly series. I remember him being a super cool guy and have been a huge fan since.
I think Ron's profession before drag racing involved video games. That's why whenever NHRA used to release them, he would consult on the development. I think he's consulting on the new one too because he mentioned that he was shown pics and vids of it in a interview.
Ron is one of only 2 drivers ever to go over 339 mph to 1,000ft. The other is Robert Hight. Both are Funny Car drivers. (Matt Hagan has been 338 in the 1000ft I believe) The Top Fuel Dragsters have quicker ET's by about 1/10th and a half (of a second) but sheer MPH the funny cars are the fastest any nitro car has ever been. To put it in perspective. John Force and Jack Beckman ran the quickest 1/4 mile side by side ever back in (I think) 2006 at Pomona. 4.66 to 4.69 on the 1/4, both over 330mph... They had 1,320ft of track.. But Capps and Hight had 320ft less track and have been 5mph faster Edit: I'm from the UK and am 31 years old. I've been watching (and going to drag racing at Santa Pod) since 1994 and remember when Ron drove Don Prudome's black Copenhagen Camaro. The Gold Copenhagen Camaro funny car from the 90's was one of the first model cars I ever owned ✌️
You're correct J Bin. Dragsters have better acceleration off of the starting line whereas Funny Cars have better top end acceleration ( I think ) because they are more streamlined, thus the higher trap speeds.
Man! You guys are AWESOME! Fantastic video, definitely one of my favorites. So F-N cool you got to interview Ron on that level. I mean you could just see and hear his passion for the sport. Great job 1320, hats off to you!
I thought the coolest thing he mentioned other than them being harder to control than a top fuel (I always figured the shorter wheelbase would be a bear) was the fact that the flames coming out of the headers provide some light in night races. I’ve seen some cool turbo car flames and 2 step but this is just a whole other level
Once again big respect to the 1320 crew to be allowed to film NHRA funny cars are the most difficult drag cars to drive because they are cross between 2 cars They have same Supercharged engine and transmission and power as top fuel but in short a body like a pro mod which means They handle like a pro mod which is never in a straight line They slide all over the place and with 12,000 hp on tap make for entertaining viewing but if anything goes wrong because the engine is in front of you you get force of the engine explosion in front of your face Not if but when The engine does go bang you have to do with the invisible flames because of the nitro which makes it most dangerous cars to drive
