Good morning , Brother John Paul , and may the Holy Spirit magnify God's Scriptures and understanding of it in all your listeners ' hearts 💕 💞 .
Today , I would like to quote Saint Cecilia last words about death : " It is relinquishing a perishable thing and receiving in turn an immortal gift.”
In her final moments , she asked Pope St. Urban to consecrate her palace as a church so that her home would always be the Temple of God. “To die for Christ,” Cecilia said, “is not to sacrifice one's youth, but to renew it .
Saint Cecilia heartfelt words display a contrasting scenery to the reading of today's Gospel of Saint Luke .
After running the merchants out of the Temple Courts , for this took place not only at the beginning of Jesus ' early ministry ( John 2: 13-22 ) but also towards the end of Jesus ' ministry , still there was no indication that any lasting reform was achieved , and no doubts the tables were back for the rest of the week , and Jesus took no further action .
In that uproar of buying , selling , bargaining , and auctioneering , it was impossible for people to pray 🙏 🤲 . Those who traveled long distances to seek God's presence and mercy were debarred from it by the very people of God's house , the Jews ✡️ .
Nevertheless , Jesus continued to exhibit boldness and persistence in teaching and healing daily at the Temple because the people continued to hear Him attentively . These interludes serve a dramatic purpose but also show God's mercy in allowing more opportunity for repentance .
It is as if God brought things to the brink , then pulled back a little to grant the Jews more time to repent until the fullness of time in 70 A.D. where Jerusalem was completely destroyed by the Roman Armies and all hope of escaping was now cut off from the Jews together with their liberty of going out of the city .
There is nothing in history to exceed this horror , but even this is nothing compared with the destruction of the souls as portrayed in Saint Cecilia last words before her death . Saint Cecilia , pray for us 🙏 .
    God bless you abundantly , Brother John Paul . AMEN 🙏 🙏 🙏 .
