Pahrump is/was where Art Bell lived and broadcast his radio show "Coast to Coast AM" out of back in the day. So many late nights I stayed up listening to that show.
Illegal fireworks are what caused the fire that burned the Tehachapi Depot Museum to the ground in 2008, they've caused hundreds of millions of dollars of damage through wildfires in California, and they scare the shit out of animals. I'm not a fan. But if you live someplace where none of those things are an issue, get on with your bad self!
you didn't mention the Devil's cornstalks as you drove through them...did you mention Lake Manley? I did not realize there was a steam locomotive in DV...cool, I guess you didn't pass through Shoshone or Tecopa and likely egressed via the same route...did you stop by one of WH's favorite placed "Semore's Polar Parlor"?
Yes, I talked about Lake Manley. You must have fast forwarded past that part! We went through Shoshone on the way home, but I didn't have the go pro mounted. We were beat and it was getting dark, so we made no side trips on the way home. I didn't pull into my driveway until about 2230 hrs.

At about 1:15 you zoomed in on the distant mountains. The early sunlight was beautiful and looked like a poster board cutout.
Good trip and video.
I liked the video...Entertaining and Interesting....Thx Mark,,,,
