- MBMBAM Animatic made for my media studies coursework!
All Audio clips belong to Justin, Travis and Griffin Mcelroy, outro music belongs to Griffin Mcelroy, visuals belong to me, so on and so forth.
(Thanks to Dylan for helping me fix the audio errors!!) - Розваги
He said Worcestershire correctly, just quickly and it softened the the “t” in “wuss-tuh-sher” which is common for the accent of the area of the US where they (and I) are from. The joke is not how he said it (which is correct) but the fact that they were plugging food products and he mentioned something completely unrelated to the product.
ali wright thank you for properly representing the DMV ft. West Virginia
The joke was that we thought he was going to say hunger because hunger is the best sauce is an expression and would have made sense.
Mason Hillers That could apply, too. Basically they were expecting him to either plug Nature Box, or make a pun (like the “hunger” pun) to segue way into plugging Nature Box. But he didn’t, he just gave his genuine opinion that Worcestershire is a really good sauce, even though that’s not even a Nature Box product.
But a lot of people in the comments were missing that joke, and saying he said Worcestershire weird - which I was trying to point out that he didn’t (because I share a similar accent to him. He’s from West Virginia, I’m from just across the state border from him in Kentucky).
or y'know you can just not overthink it and laugh your ass off at travis anyway
Yup he said it correctly. Americans usually full on butcher it (“war-sester-shy-er” is not correct), but he said it perfectly. Wuh-stuh-shuh is about the best approximation of the correct pronunciation as I can write down.
Before you tell me “there’s no correct pronunciation, just different accents”, Worcestershire is a place in the UK, there absolutely is a correct pronunciation, and there may be accent differences but there’s still a correct way to say it.
The joke is that he was expected to say “hunger”.
I like how Griffin "Simple Uncomplicated Emotions" McElroy created the entire Adventure Zone
I still can't finish story and song. I know it'll get sadder and I don't want these characters to hurt. I started this expecting 3 Bois and their wonderful Dad enjoying a nice dice game, and not this Feels Trip.
@@zach7482 Hey, if it helps, they do hurt, but everything is more than okay in the end. Everyone gets a happy ending.
@@zach7482 Yeah, like, the characters have expierenced a lot of bad stuff, but it's really a rather joyful and hopeful story in the end. I'd say that not seeing the ending could make it worse cause you're stuck in the bad part without the reward.
that is absolutely wild because I feel like the balance arc gave me access to an entirely new emotion and it might be the biggest, least simple emotion I have
@@zach7482 o no. I just started taz from the beginning recently (thx almighty youtube algorithm 4 reccing all these lovely mbmbam animatics 🧡) and am on like, episode 6 or 7. Is it...not...a 3 bois and their Wonderful Dad enjoying a nice dice game kind of experience? 🥺 idk if i'm ready for that hahaha...
In an interview for their 500th episode, justin said "Worcestershire" was his favorite joke from the whole run of the podcast
I agree
Travis: I hate spiders they're the worst
Griffin when planning the first big boss of taz: SPIDERS
boy, Griffin sure put off his existential crisis for as long as possible, didn't he?
ITS BECAUSE OF THE SAYING “HUNGER IS THE BEST SAUCE”
Pretty sure it's Worcestershire
Christ alive, Griffin almost perfectly encapsulates the existential dread I experience on a daily basis.
Caige Spade I have literally had this "no, no, no" moment.
I don't usually talk at my laptop screen but all the way through this I was grinning and just shouting "YES". I'm terrified, but it feels SO good to know that everyone else is just as constantly dread-struck as I am, and not even in a schadenfreude way either.
I read this as Clint Alive
In case you are confused by the Worsticher bit, there's a famous saying that "hunger makes the best sauce", meaning that being hungry makes things taste better. That misdirect, plus the timing, made Justin absolutely lose his shit.
Source: Justin explained it in an interview about 500 MBMBaM eps.
I will now take questions.
Worcestershire is one of the show's best goofs of all time. Deconstructing their own ironic deconstructionist form of comedy, pushing through irony until you come back out at the other side with something genuine. An expertly and quickly fashioned rug-pull, perfectly delivered.
Thank Travis for Travis.
Bruh they're just making fun of each other it's not that deep
@@stefanalexanderlungu1503... they never said it was deep? the comment was basically just "the brothers mined through their bs until they struck comedy gold"
Nat come on bud
All three of them have experience or education in the performing arts, and their comedic bread and butter is ironic subversion of expectation, but that sets an expectation of it's own, which they often further subvert. If you've ever been in an improv group, you know the guys who get the most laughs are the guys who say "no" instead of "Yes and", but that dynamic only works with a strong foundation because it means feelings and ideas are stepped on. The line in this case was obviously meant to be hunger makes the best sauce, everyone in the room expected it because that's the kind of lame bit they were leaning into. But he pulled the rug with a line that without years of contextual foundation is inane, but instead becomes the funniest thing Justin has heard all day. Was pretty obvious the animator assumed they were just laughing at his (correct) pronunciation, so I was trying to leave a post here for other art majors to nod toward without calling anyone out for "not getting it", which is narcissistic and rude; art belongs to the audience, enjoy how you enjoy. But don't call people out because you assume the way you enjoy is the right one, because everything is deeper than you think.
Wally SS Wally SS I just learned more about comedy through this than... uh, ever? Gotta go research what “deconstructionist humor” is now! Thanks!
The part where you animated griff describing an emo person and then showing his room with Carly Rae jepsen posters instead made me smile
Justin's playful relationship with his soulcrushing depression somewhat cheers me up.
the beach episode TAZ music at the end wasnt fair....
TRVVVR it hit me in a way that I frankly wasn’t expecting
“i don’t think i have emotions too complex to describe” is... is that how neurotypicals live...?
How do they do it?
Lucky fuckers
my emotions are not complex and I still cant put them into words until 3 years later n I'm like "oh shit I was sad...."
Hate to write a serious answer under a MBMBaM animatic, but.
Nah. It's mostly the other way around.
There's a difference between complex emotions and intense emotions.
And that's what your thirties are like
I have asthma, this video made me laugh so hard it was triggered.
The Complex Emotions bit is like my Number 2 bit of McElroy greatness.
as a West Virginian, i can confirm that's how EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US pronounces "Worcestershire sauce," and the boys are ignorin' their raisin'
You know what's makes the best sauce?
wrstrschr
Doc fite me bro that’s how we say it in the DMV and apparently the DMWV too
Because that’s how it’s pronounced. It’s a place in England.
Yeh that’s how you say it.
@@dillpickle4784 We pronounce it that way down in the Carolinas (at least the north one) too. I didn't know there was any other way to pronounce it.
Travis' nose looks like a smile ans it keeps making me think hes just constantly smiling
I've been working my way up through previous episodes and ran across Griffin's crisis today and had to pull over and laugh.
It always makes me happy to find an episode that I first heard as an animatic.
I shit you not I went straight to this episode when I had an Existential Crisis just like two minutes ago.
no dogs on the moon gives me feels that the happy little diddy should absolutely NOT be giving me
THE CARLY RAE
JEPSEN POSTER YOU GENIUS
i thought it would be a nice touch! :3
you cant just spring taz music on me like that talk about complex emotions
30s?? I haven't even reached my 20s and I'm feeling existential dread on a constant basis
Shut up
same
Fr, pretty sure ive been having a continuos existential crisis since i learned what death was
ITS ALL GONNA STOP ONE DAY
Good animation, good song, good mcelboys
The way this is put together reminds me of Rooster Teeth animated adventures! Great job btw!!
:o i used to love those!! Thank u 😊
The first 46 seconds of animation is EXACTLY how I imagine that conversation to have happened ... Worcestershire 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is great! You capture the bits very well.
Thank you!!
The subtitles are so great, thank you!! Love the art, too:)
of course! i have auditory processing issues and i know how frustrating it is watching stuff and getting no context bc you've got no idea what people are saying lmao
I love this man! Deserves more likes!
aaa thank you!
this was beautiful
This is really nice
ty! c:
great animatics and choice of mbmbam bits!
I don't care what anyone says. Laughter is contagious, even if it isn't funny.
these guys don't see the world the same as i do most of the time, but all of that stuff about spiders and moods, that resonates.
Beautiful. Perfect. 👌
This is fantastic! 😂
tysm!!
In Australia, we see spiders inside and typically leave em alone. Getting bit by a huntsman hurts(for like an hour) but most poisonous/venous spiders live outside(or underground)
Most Aussies love house spiders because they take care of all the other shite we CBF to deal with.
The whole its all gonna stop thing gave me low key anxiety lmfao
Same, I've been feeling the dread intensely for a couple of weeks now, and this didn't help as much as I thought it would lol
Oh hey I was the 5,000th like! Congrats OP!
I had griffins existentisl crisis in like. 4th grade. So now that I'm an adult death is just *shrug* "damn it be like that sometimes"
And thats gen z in a nutshell
😔
Same here to be honest. I had it like when I was a teen.
Always thinking about how everything is gonna end and what not. Crying time to time by myself because of it.
But nowadays, I'm just like the current Griffin. I nap to cope. I can sleep anywhere and anytime given the opportunity. And my emotions aren't that complex.
Something sad happens, I'd go "Shit. That's sad. Imma nap now. Ttyl."
People talk about death and our impending end in this mortal coil, "Shit. Well..we all gonna go at some point. Anywho, imma stare at a wall for a couple of hours."
I don't know. I can't explain it to people that wonder how existential dread doesn't affect me. And I don't think I can understand people with existential dread. I kinda forgot how that felt. And I'm thankful for it tbh..lol
2:23 Isn’t this actually extended here? In the real audio, it was almost terrifying how immediate the realization came to him.
ye, just by like, a couple of seconds - i wanted to add the crescendo bc outsourcing other audio would've added to my grade. also i just thought it was funy
Honestly, the “and that’s what your 30s are like” comment is the only thing getting me through my 30s. 😂
i still don't know why he said wuhshuhshuh
He said Worcestershire. It's a sauce. Unless you didn't know the correct pronunciation of it, in which case, now you do.
Madeline Bitts
Tbf it sounded like wuhshuhshuh. The correct way to say it is Wust-eh-sher.
I guess he does pronounce it pretty rushedly but I'm p. sure the joke is that they assumed he was going to either use the phrase "hunger is the best sauce" or was going to mention another naturebox product, instead of saying something unrelated
My favourite thing is Justin laughing hysterically and calling Travis a dumb piece of shit I love it
i hope the last sound i hear is Justin's laughter. it's absolute magic.
This sounds like a murder scenario... 😅
Good Shit Homie
i'm here 2 years later just to say : no dogs on the moon! :)
Bruh that last one fucked me up. Terrific animation though!
”Wooshushure”- Travis McElroy
“Worcestershire” -Travis McElroy
“Wore-sister-shear” -you, probably
He said it perfectly.
Ya existential crises really do be like that sometimes
If I had a quarter for every time Justin said “You dumb piece of shit”
yessss No Dogs on the moon that song frickin slaps
If that's what your thirties are like I"ve been experiencing being a person in their thirties since I was like, 7 years old
anyone know where these doods live or posses a squirrel surplus
Wake Archus You.. don't have a lot of squirrels??
We’re all immortal until proven not
For some reason, (even though it's hard for me to fully believe ), this really helps me with my anxiety, so thanks lol
Travis: pronounces Worcestershire correctly
every single American in the comments who pronounces it “war-sister-shy-are”: haha get a load of this fucking guy
PEOPLE.... PRONOUNCE IT LIKE THAT?
Poor Travis LOL I also like worcestesrershire sauce
worcestershire
Afraid that at some point all this is gonna stop?
Cant relate.
Whag is he talking about he is emortal.
I was eating steak with worchestire sauce while listening to this!
Which episode is this from??
Is this from the podcast??
Victoria Medina I don’t know if you ever got an answer, but this is from “My Brother, My Brother, and Me”
I don’t get existential crisis. I made peace with it a long time ago
