I just want to add that a lot of us including myself have "dream speakers" that costs thousands of dollars and we look forward to owning them later in our life time (perhaps when we are retired) but in my opinion, Tekton brings us something incredible here.... 70-80% of a dream speaker that can be owned and afforded at any point in our life time without the wait.

Totally Agree. I have Tekton Speakers and they are simply incredible. They outclassed by previous speakers that cost 3x the price by a significant margin.

@@blackknight7017 ...and many youtube commenters are trolls. Many of the components I run were bought at the recommendation of youtube reviewers like NBTS, New record day and Steve Guttenberg etc. These guys usually don't review stuff they don't like. I've bought and listened to many positively reviewed pieces of gear and loved it. This includes my Iotavx SA3, Schiit Mani phono pre, Tekton EnZos, cables etc... and my system sounds really good. These guys put a lot of work into what they do. If you'd listen to the gear and pay attention to the synergy of your system in the implementation of that gear you'd probably be appreciative as well. Im grateful for people like Soulsik who provide this service and you should be too if you've gotten any benefit from it.

Awesome review. I bought a pair of Pendragons aprox 6 months ago after auditioning almost 15 other pairs of spkrs costing $10K-$15K, and I couldn’t be happier. They beat em all out IMO. They really opened up after about 75-100 or so hrs of break in time, then they really started to amaze me. They just keep sounding better to me. Your description of them is spot on, and I thank you for your time. Their designer and Tekton owner, Eric Alexander is one of the kindest, down to earth, but most importantly honest guys in HiFi today.

FRANZ FANON Resale and investment. Most audiophiles will recognize a natively built model as higher end within a product series. For example, B&W, REL, Sonus Faber, etc have their higher end products built natively and lower series elsewhere. There is a difference in both quality and cost.
This is no different in other audio products and industries.

I think the best way to think about this particular line array is that each speaker has a job and it's different enough from eachother that they can specialize in what they are doing. This allows for accurate and loud response for each because they aren’t being stressed to hit really high notes or really low notes(for the 2 mids). Tekton is on my short list to outfit my new house with.

The Tekton designer won an award for subwoofer of the year way back before he started Tekton so he knows to get serious bass out of a pair of 10 inch woofers. I wonder if the Dragons or the DE are considered the sweet spot in their line up.

I have ordered Moabs and was thinking the same thing about them being sort of like co-axial. Its funny seeing this video now because I was talking to Eric about it just the other day. He didn't disagree. Its not exact of course, there is a line aspect to it, and it can get a whole lot more technical. But the co-axial aspect accounts for the cohesive imaging, and the line array dispersion with lower than usual loss with distance helps account for the efficiency and contributes to dynamics. Overall just a great design. Cannot wait to hear my Moabs!

very good review , I have a pair of Lores , which for sure don't approach these (have never listened to Pendragons either) , but my ears tell me is Tekton speakers break the rules . I have a set of AAD 2001 monitors which are the best I have listened to up to 10k $ and now prefer my Lores. You touched on what I feel is the design philosophy , speakers that sound like you are in the studio or intimate fine venue . They deliver vocals and instruments as if they are in front of the listener. Another bonus is driving the lores with a 40/side vintage luxman SS makes them sing , no need for the high powered amp for these.

I agree with the review. I have 3 different pairs of Tekton speakers in my home: IMPACT monitors, the DOUBLE IMPACT SE floorstanding, and the Ulfberht floorstanding. My first pair was the IMPACT monitors, which I threw up against my then, reference speakers, the B&W 800 D3s, at $30k a pair. The Tekton IMPACT monitors beat the B&Ws a lot, in all but, lowest bass, and a tad less high frequency sparkle compared to the B&W diamond tweeter. Meaning, I concur that a $2k Tekton can be 70% to 80% of a speaker in the $20k to $30k range. It was for me...

Ribbon horns are the answer. The only reason to run a speaker like this is to run SET. You can actually build the Mcauley lens equipped JBL array using newer neo motors from a few companies like Fatailpro. I would use SET with a ribbon horn . Those old JBL with Mcauley lens arrays lead you to ribbon horns or basically a magnaplanar in a horn body. All the physics of that configuration work.

MTM configurations are nothing new or novel. It is just choosing to use the same driver rather than specialized drivers. (presumably for cost) When I had a good sit down listen to these speakers I was at first seemingly impressed with what detail they were presenting, but when I was really getting down to it I found they were not really very good. The apparent detail they were presenting was really it only exaggerating things which it shouldn't be doing. Those tweeters have some nasty resonances which are not part of the music. And it gives the illusion of detail when it really isn't. In the end I didn't find these speakers worth their asking price and found them mediocre at best.
