Nice to see you got the Lister up and running. Had one of these way back when as a young nipper. My dad got tired of me hanging around in the garage asking questions, so we bought an old Lister for a fiver at a local junk yard. With his help I did it up and got it running, then sold it for £15 😊. I can remember down on my granddad’s farm they had another stationary engine which drove a circular saw used for cutting up firewood… those were the days…

That engine needs about a 8-10” pulley on it to spin that alternator fast enough, it’s going to overheat at that slow rpm and not generate much power.
Better off the flywheel.
More rpm on the alternator, making it run much cooler.
