Sir, Big time thanks for taking the time to make these 4 videos. You did a good deed! I did all this today it works perfect. Apparently your good deed is still doing some good deed-ing : )
Thank you so much! Our 2008 PT Cruiser Limited is always throwing a mystery repair at us. Your fix for the “stuck closed” back hatch was ingenious and a great cost savings for us! Thank you for sharing your expertise, we are very grateful.
I can tell you guys all thats the solution for real and so cheap, I bougth the button on amazon and i did it,...its so easy Thank you for this excellent video
Thank you for these videos! Worked perfectly on a 2006 which also has a broken lock cylinder, so the key did not work. I used the same momentary switch($11) you used which blends in flawlessly.
GREAT solution for a cheap factory OE part. If you decide to episode 5 you could mention the fact that this doubles the resale value of these POS vehicles. Thanks for your efforts that helped me see what I am dealing with as I am helping an old lady fix this hatch so we can load her walker.
I tried pressing my unlock button multiple times and the actuator didn't sound, so I couldn't open the hatch. Will the panel pull off and is there a manual release on the 2009 model, as well?
This is video 4, watch from the start at video 1, he explains everything beautifully. Even shows you how to test to see if it's the actuator or the push switch.
I tried to watch all his videos on this but I am lost because he doesn't do a step by step, he skips ahead and shows the finished work instead and tries to review what he did without really showing it. I watch Drew's video instead.

Does it lock when the car is locked or it can be pressed at any time
I installed a Momentary Push Button Switch in my liftgate and yes the lock still works. I am really glad I found these videos.

with these switches... Can now anybody can open up your trunk and get access to your car ?
So the way to repair this is to add button to replace original opening system??
