@seng chang please just call me John lol you may remember me from last summer on the water. You thought I was your buddy because I had the same kayak. Then you showed me how to catch a salmon! That was a blast. Thank you again my friend.
Nyob zoo. Big fish brother. I bet that was fun. I'm up there next week for the weekend fishing but dont know where the good spot is for lincod and sturgeon. if you know let me know.
Nyob zoo bro! Most areas near seattle/tacoma area wont be open for lingcod until May 1st. this year but you can check out MA-4 (Neah Bay, WA) which is on the north west side of Washington. That will be open for lings. WDFW game wardens are pretty strict here. Not sure about sturgeon fishing but if you want to read into the rules/locations, look up WDFW WASHINGTON Sport Fishing Rules 2024
Appreciate the words! I would suggest looking into the WDFW website and looking through the rules and regulations for more info about different species in the Puget Sound. There are so many different types of fishes in the sound! Salmon is my favorite to catch.
Wow!! I'm from Sydney Australia and heading to the states late April. I am working on my itenary and doing research hence stumbling across your video. Pugent Sound is a potential spot. I would love to yak fish as that's what I do here in Sydney. Is there a way I can contact you to pick your brains?
I love how so many comments were questions like, (Where were you? or what are you using for bait, ect? ) As I learned from my grandfather and I tell my grandkids. A GOOD fisherman never tells where or how he caught his fish. 🤐 However, if one is paying attention to your video they can answer all theses questions, even how deep you were fishing. 🧐 But hey, nice hook ups, especially in a 9' Kayak and thanks for sharing. and yes I know my use of the word "hook-ups" is not the same as kids version.
Wrong, a REAL fisherman is part of a community that helps it's brothers and sisters get on the fish. This isn't some back country fly fishing stream that you don't want crowded and trampled. I have lived in the south sound area my entire life and we are a better fishing community than that. That old school mentality of "secret fishing blah blah blah" is outdated and lame. Not like you could catch all the salmon or lingcod or rockfish in the ocean so why not take some pride in the community and share tips with other anglers and not be a total douchecanoe
Lingcod in the puget sound has a minimum and maximum size. 36” is the max size you can take home. Anything bigger must be released. They do this to protect the population of lingcod in the puget sound due to their low population count.
It's close to the Edmonds Sanctuary area--lots of rules and the "good" spots are actually closed to fishing. The small boat in the background totally breaking the rules...
@@stevennalay5566 Good luck out there and be safe! Yes, fish underneath the ferry when it leaves. If you have a fish finder, you will see the rocky bottom only in that location
Yah Edmonds Kingston? Looks familiar I left Washington in 02” but I’d agree w that Also off whidbey island is killer for salmon bush point slay em all day kings, pinks etc
@@pnwkayakadventures People not understanding fish like to hide in rocks and kelp---and very little of that in most areas of the ocean. Good spot where you were at--as it is pretty much in the middle of two closed areas (ferry area being "open"). Have you fished Scatchet Head in your kayak? Wondering about the tides there... I usually fish the kelp beds around Seiku...and if get your areas right, can fish there most of the year.
What a great day of fishing! Too bad you didn’t have a keeper. Thanks for sharing your fun day of catching monster Lings!
Very Nice Seng! Thanks for sharing today!
Thank you JP! Nice to meet you today! Let’s go fishing sometimes this year!
What a day Seng. Awesome video!
Thank you sir!

Nice catch, Seng Chang!!
Great vid. Just moved to the Seattle area and looking to kayak fish the sound. What other fish do you catch there?

Absolutely incredible 😮 well done! What lures/bait did you use?
Great Video dude! Absolute monsters!
Flying up Friday to give it a try!
Can I contact you for information?

Hey man, I just moved back to WA from SoCal. I live in Seattle, what harbor do you usually launch out of for lingcod and pink salmon?
You can launch out just about anywhere! Check the regulations for your area and get your line in the water!
I love how so many comments were questions like, (Where were you? or what are you using for bait, ect? )

Yeah the ferry makes it very obvious where he is. Rigs are no secret here, most drift a live flounder with enough lead to keep it right by the bottom.

Hi Seng, did you launch the kayak on the beach next to the Edmonds ferry? Hobie seems heavy!
What kind of fish finder are you using? Thanks
Great spot!!! 👍
Keep the rod BENT
What’s your rod / reel setup, either back when you shot this video or now? This will be my first season going for lings from a kayak.
What kind of bait are you using to catch the lingcod and what is the size restrictions? I see you keep letting the big ones go.
26in to 36in in puget sound I think
What area are you in in the video?
I live on Whidbey Island, if your even in the area we should meet up.
Are you the one who was in nw fishing secrets video
Yes lol
@@pnwkayakadventuresI knew it
Where is this?
You didn't post the day you lost your pole?
No I wasn’t recording 😂 good to see you out there man!
Wait, this is my first time hearing of a fish being “over limit”. Why is this?
Lingcod in the puget sound has a minimum and maximum size. 36” is the max size you can take home. Anything bigger must be released. They do this to protect the population of lingcod in the puget sound due to their low population count.
Larger ling-cod are mostly the females--the breeders.
Those things like gigantic Mudskippers spike toothed.
didnt even know we had a reef there

It's time to make another ling cod video bud! \
Where do u launch at?
Olympic Beach, right side of fishing pier
Thank u. This will be my fisrt time out there. Very excited. Is that spot next to where u launch?

Are you a lefty or a righty
What part of the puget sound was that??
I think near Seattle
Oil tanks and ferry at 4:50, he’s off Edmonds…
Yah Edmonds Kingston? Looks familiar I left Washington in 02” but I’d agree w that

Fuckk yea broo!!
Puberty grating you nice good levi
An Asian listening to country music with his all American mask. Lol
