I'm American and Tom makes me wish we had one of him down here. A lot of artists put out Tributes to America, but we don't have a single artist who puts out so many patriotic songs for our country as Tom does Canada. I will say this, he fires MY patriotism for America, even though he's Canadian. Good music doesn't follow lines on a map people...it goes where it's needed.
I would have to say KD Langs name for anyone to remember her cause no one has heard from her lately. But GD her, she brought Tom out of retirement and back into Canadiana. God Bless Ladie KD Lang!
I'm from Northern Ontario, but, that tune has been an old stand by for years! Probably stolen from Stompin' Tom, no doubt!, but none the less, we've been using it HARD CORE!
@mimicansico This guy is a Canadian legend in folk music. He has turned down offers to go to the U.S and sing patriotic American folk songs (it's not that he doesn't like America). He's probably a Canadian national treasure, and when he dies there'll be a month long funeral for him. There's not a better Canadian in the entire country.
I saw Stomping Tom 4 times live. Never a dull moment. The crowds were into each and every song.
Imagine if Stomper was Prime Minister?
It just doesnt get any better!
