Seen Bocephus twice back in the 80's as a young child and it had a major effect on me and my musical journey. One serious entertainer that few could match. Great memories and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to see him in his prime.

One of my favorite Country singers ever. And one of my most memorable concerts. He crosses all genre of music and a true icon. He seemed so natural on stage and in his element. His father may have been a Icon in his time, but Hank Jr. is his own self made man.
His singing Voice is unmistakable and unique ! Thank god he didn’t die on that mountain! I grew up listening to mostly Rock, but their was always some Hank Jr. in there as well.

The ironic thing about me finding this video today is, my wife and I saw Hank Jr for the first time live last week. (July 2022). We talked about it latter and both thought, we liked it, but kinda wish he would have sang the songs the way we were use to hearing them. HA HA. Obviously hasn't changed a bit and I can appreciate that. Still bangs on the keyboard with his boots too. 🤣

What a gem of a documentary of one of the standard bearers of Americana. Never knew his backstory until watching this. Hank Jr. is indeed an immortal legend whose legend may even outlive that of his foundational father (blasphemy right ?). Anyhow, what a walking miracle that man is and tough as nails. So many legends of yesteryear that are relatable to the plight and pain of the common man. Something seemingly far removed from the celebrities/popular musical performers of today.

Built a legendary career of his very own with his own legacy and artists he's influenced. If you can't be proud of that then I don't think you could be proud of any damn thing.

If his mother had succeeded in having him to continue to do his daddy's songs just look at what we would've missed. I'm glad he insisted on doing his "own thing" because both him and his music have made my life better. I have been a fan since my late teens (I'm no longer a spring chicken) and as a fan I have enjoyed both looking at him(his IS easy on the eyes) and listening to his music. I very much appreciate the fact that his mother did not succed in having him walk in his father's shoes.

I think every "section" of these Great United States has its own accent in speech. I am from the same general section as Bocephus, his accent has never changed. The South Alabama twang sounds like home to me. Ol Bocephus has made this guy very proud..
    Please forgive my bad grammar.

Hank Jr was Nashville's orphaned son, but he actually had a slew of stand-in father types, who all cared deeply about him. Johnny Cash ( June too ) Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Farron Young, Merle Kilgore all took turn's watching over young Hank, but at the end of the day none were actually Hank Sr, so none could really put their boot in his ass when he got too far out of line partying, so he ran wild in the country whenever it suited his fancy 🤷🏻‍♂️ In the end though, Ol' Hank Williams Jr did a pretty good job of raising himself when the time became necessary for it.
HW Jr absolutely ruled Country Music, from the late 70's- early 90's Hank reign supreme & he should have gone into The HOF somewhere round 96-99, but the HOF voter's kept him out till just a couple year's ago 😡
Better late, than never I guess. smh

I first saw hank jr in 88 and I saw him 10 more times. In my experience he was sober enough about 6 of those concerts. I guess I didn't care because I was drunk too! Last time I saw him was for the beginning the football season in I believe 99 or 00 at river front in Nashville. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been too..I no longer live in Nashville so I have not seen him since.
