What a gem of a documentary of one of the standard bearers of Americana. Never knew his backstory until watching this. Hank Jr. is indeed an immortal legend whose legend may even outlive that of his foundational father (blasphemy right ?). Anyhow, what a walking miracle that man is and tough as nails. So many legends of yesteryear that are relatable to the plight and pain of the common man. Something seemingly far removed from the celebrities/popular musical performers of today.
If Hank was alive and found out his son was in the hospital several times at a young age, his rage would be unbelievable. He had a lot of pride for Hank jr. You could only imagine what he would say to Audrey.
@John Williams he had a lot of pride in Jr and cared so much about him. He was know to get angry and it’s not unbelievable that he would be extremely mad that his sons friends and family let him go so far.
Lord man how would you know ? Every young man has his struggles, Hank Sr. had his and didn't survive past 29. His son had his struggles and DID survive, still alive today at 72 and doing well. Built a legendary career of his very own with his own legacy and artists he's influenced. If you can't be proud of that then I don't think you could be proud of any damn thing.

Hes a National Treasure
Raised in Carolina on this music, Daddy loved it
I have ben inspired for many years by this kind of music
One of the All Time Grates Hank Williams, Jr
Saw him i bmt tx
HI HANK JR. We met You in Bermuda in the late 60s🔮
Fine performer, but his pa was best country song writer of all time
Junior used to be just a puny little dorky geek but, he had a country boogie-woogie heart like his daddy!
I first saw hank jr in 88 and I saw him 10 more times. In my experience he was sober enough about 6 of those concerts. I guess I didn't care because I was drunk too! Last time I saw him was for the beginning the football season in I believe 99 or 00 at river front in Nashville. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been too..I no longer live in Nashville so I have not seen him since.
Seen him drunk, sober. Laying down the Van Halen at Dayton Hara Arena. Always a good time 🌃
Back when "news" was actually news....
Hank the 3rd looks so much like his grandpa
