Seyyed Naqvi As far as Sunnis point of view is concerned, the event at Ghadir Khum had nothing to do with Khilafah announcement. Only the shiites love to exaggerate the significance this event, which is rather funny, coz if it's very significant... Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would have most definitely done it in Makkah on Khutbatul Wadaa' so it could reach much more ears. But he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam didn't, and therein lies the issue in the Shias claim on Alis right of divine leadership based on the Ghadir Khum event. Plus, in the end of the day, Ali actually gave Bay'ah to Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radiyallahu anhu. Not only that, but he also actively participated in Abu Bakrs military activity. May Allah be pleased with both. A little tangent here, but this is also the exact reason why I name my first son Ali. Coz he's not just a great leader, but he's also a very dependable follower. He's a very example to follow on how Sunnis should love and venerate the Ashaab of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. That said, Muawiyah is also an example to follow, just as Ali is an example to follow. As much as the Shia loves to hate Muawiya for fighting Ali, you have to admit that even you would demand justice if one of your relatives were murdered. Case in point, the death of Husein. So, maybe the Shiites actually followed the Sunnah of Muawiyah here in their demand of justice for Husein? :D However, unlike the Shiites who would go centuries of self flaggellation via a vis the death of Husein radiyallahu anhu, Sunnis don't punish themselves for the death of Uthman radiyallahu anhu. They're both died as Shuhadaa, and theredore have acheived 'the true success', and we hope to one day meet them in Jannah.
Seyyed Naqvi the word 'mawla' does not necesaarily mean 'master' or 'leader' though, as it could also mean someone you're very close / dear to, or an ally, or a friend. If the Shiites chose to interpret it as 'leader' or 'master' then it is their problem, not ours. Also, it's not like that Arabic language have no explicit equivalents of 'master' or 'leader', which is especially necessary if you want to deem something to be 'as clear as daylight'. The Sunnis actually believe that Ali was the rightful Caliph and that Muawiyah should have gave him the bay'ah. On the same time, since we don't believe the sahaba to be infallible, we don't believe that one being in command automatically means the others cannot challenge each and every decision the leader / commander makes, which were pretty evident in both Muawiyas demand of justice to Ali and Huseins demand of justice to Yazid. In both Ali and Muawiyahs case, both thought that the other was delaying justice. Ali believes that justice can and will be done after the unity of muslims, while Muawiyah believes that the sanctity of muslim blood trumps everything else and therefore justice must be done right away. Both had valid justifications for their respective stances, though in the end Alis stance is closer to the truth than Muawiyahs. Which brings us to the point about Alis bay'ah to Abu Bakr. Let alone a valid justification, Ali actually didn't have ANY justification to not give Abu Bakr as-Siddiq the bay'ah. If he had one, he'd NEVER gave the bay'ah due to Alis (and the sahabas) love and commitment for justice. As for Yazid being a Khalifah after Muawiya, actually... even Husein acknowledged Yazids leadership. Before the letters of Kufians reached Husein, there was no problem between the people and the leader. Even after Husein went to Karbala, he still thought that Yazid was the leader of Muslims. Why wouldn't he? He went from Madina, to Kufah, and to Karbala to demand justice for the Kufians, who were actually a bunch of treacherous people themselves. Unfortunately, the Shiites thought this as an attempt to challenge Yazids leadership by Husein, or that Husein never accepted Yazid as a legitimate leader on the first place, which is factually wrong. In other words, not only Yazid was the 'Caliph of Sunnis', but he's also the 'Caliph of Shia Imams'. :D You can also insist for the rest of your life that Sunnis celebrate the death of Husein. Fact is, we don't. Whether there were people who actually celebrated his death or not is irrelevant to us. Husein is a shaheed and have attained the 'True Success', and that is all that matters.

My initial comment was about the fact the Sunnis would follow the Sunnah of Ahl al-Bayt, meaning their teachings and actions, which in and of itself the Sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and his Ashaab radiyallahu 'anhu. On the other hand, you interpret it as supporting them against any of their 'enemies'. Also it is quite ironic for you to mention that I'm among the minority of Sunnis, coz throughout history the Shia has always been a fringe group who would act nice when they're weak, but would murder and oppress if they're in position of power. You people act as if you're the ally of Sunnis and wanted 'unity' while on the same time attack and slander the people who are dear to us. What is this of not 'hypocrisy'? Whether or not I'm among the minority of Sunnis does not change the value of what I said. If it's the truth then it is the truth. If it's a fact then it is a fact. Likewise, your insistance on naming Muawiya and Yazid as 'enemies' of Ahl al-Bayt, does not change the fact that the Aimmah themselves accepted them as leaders. Or perhaps you know something that the Aimmah didn't know about Muawiyah and Yazid? I would ask Allah to resurrect you around the likes of Abu Lu'lu and Ibn Saba, but I don't feel right making such dua. When the prophet pbuh said hold on to my ahlul bayt, it means do what the ahlul bayt are doing. Imam Ali r.a accepted the first 3 caliphs for 25 years so we accept his decision. Imam Hassan r.a gave the khilafat to ameer Muhawia r.a so we accept his decision. Imam Hussain r.a refused to accept yazid as leader we accept his decision too. So it’s Sunnis who are holding on to the ahlul bayt not Shias.
Imam Ali(A.S) accepted the caliphate of the 3, to ensure the unity of the muslim ummah. The khilafa was rightfully his, but to him, the unity of muslim ummah was more important. Then talking about Imam Hassan(A.S) giving khilafa to muawyah, he did this to stop bloodshed, and disunity of muslim ummah. If you believe in Imam Ali(A.S) so much, go read his khutbas in Nahj ul Balagha. Imam Ali(A.s) clearly states that muawyah was a sinner and unfit for the khalifa position

By my life, O Mu'awiyah, if you see with your intellect without any passion you will find me the most innocent of all in respect of `Uthman's blood and you will surely know that I was in seclusion from him, unless you conceal what is quite open to you (and accuse me of a crime I have not committed). Then you may commit any outrage (on me) as you wish and that is an end to the matter.

He says we should read history. If we read history we see the shia states have been allying with the kuffar against islam and working against islam from the start. (they helped the mongols destroy the abbasids, the fatimids helped the crusaders, safavids stabbed ottomans in the back which led them to being defeated in Vienna etc etc). But i guess it proves its in their nature then that they wouldnt see the first century of islamic conquests as great, since they had no part to play in it. One more thing. Farid didn't lie when he said that The Hadith of Thaqalain doesn't exist in bukhari and Muslim. But the hadith of I remind you of Ahlu Albayt only exists. I searched and found that Hadith thaqalyn exists in tirmidhi . And the hadith is weak in but Al Albani considered it sahih . Albani died 20 years ago.
those 24 prophets didn't all have laws and books and they were out of a 124000 prophets in total so less than 0.001%. Plus they preceeded the prophet so allah handled in mentioning them.

The hadith that he was coating regarding the 12 caliph's does not emphasize on 12 caliph's rather it focuses on the pinnacle of Islam, rather whoever be the Caliph Islam will rule the world during the first 100 year's of the caliphate. In the details lies the devil. Shias are so obsessed with minor details, they overlook major ones. It reminds me of Musa's (AS) people continuously and needlessly delving into the vivid details of the kind of cow they were required to sacrifice. It made life harder to them with each detail discovered. Soon it became almost impossible for them to obey the obligation. It was made easy - sacrifice a cow. But they chose to make it hard - sacrifice a brown spotted red haired (and so on getting incredibly specific)...cow. It eventually led to them worshipping a golden cow's statue! First focus on what it clear you fools! Then IF you want to and really need to, think about what is unclear and follow what you want so long it does not clash with what is a major clear detail. The same Al-Juwayni reports from Abdullah ibn Abbas (r) from the Prophet (s) who said, “I am the chief of the Prophets and Ali ibn Abi Talib is the chief of successors, and after me my successors shall be twelve, the first of them being Ali ibn Abi Talib and the last of them being Al-Mahdi.” Al-Juwayni also narrates that the Messenger of Allah (s) informed: “I and Ali and Hasan and Husayn and nine of the descendants of Husayn are the purified ones and the inerrant.” [Al-Juwayni, Fara’id al-Simtayn, Mu’assassat al-Mahmudi li-Taba’ah, Beirut 1978, p. 160.

What that Shia doesn't even realize is that when mentioning the hadith in regards to the treatment of Ahlul Bayt is that it doesn't even specify any sort of appointment, all it does is make it clear that the Ahlul Bayt should be should in high regards with how important they are pertaining to Allah. The Shia also doesn't realize when Rasulullah (SAW) points out the 12 caliphs, he specified that their times would be when Islam was great. He (SAW) didn't mention anything about their virtues, characteristics, traits, etc, rather he (SAW) specified the strength of Islam at that time. This means that this sort of Khulafah was a political position instead of the divine imamate position the Shias attribute to their 12 imams.

This hadith literally disproves shiism. Hadith speaks about 12 caliphs from QURAISH,and not from Ahlul Bayt only. From Quraish are also AbuBakr,Umar etc. If 12 Caliphs would be only from AhlulBayt only,why Prophet a.s didnt say that.

Only the shiites love to exaggerate the significance this event, which is rather funny, coz if it's very significant... Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would have most definitely done it in Makkah on Khutbatul Wadaa' so it could reach much more ears. But he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam didn't, and therein lies the issue in the Shias claim on Alis right of divine leadership based on the Ghadir Khum event.
Plus, in the end of the day, Ali actually gave Bay'ah to Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radiyallahu anhu. Not only that, but he also actively participated in Abu Bakrs military activity. May Allah be pleased with both.
A little tangent here, but this is also the exact reason why I name my first son Ali. Coz he's not just a great leader, but he's also a very dependable follower. He's a very example to follow on how Sunnis should love and venerate the Ashaab of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
That said, Muawiyah is also an example to follow, just as Ali is an example to follow. As much as the Shia loves to hate Muawiya for fighting Ali, you have to admit that even you would demand justice if one of your relatives were murdered. Case in point, the death of Husein. So, maybe the Shiites actually followed the Sunnah of Muawiyah here in their demand of justice for Husein? :D
However, unlike the Shiites who would go centuries of self flaggellation via a vis the death of Husein radiyallahu anhu, Sunnis don't punish themselves for the death of Uthman radiyallahu anhu. Seyyed Naqvi the word 'mawla' does not necesaarily mean 'master' or 'leader' though, as it could also mean someone you're very close / dear to, or an ally, or a friend. If the Shiites chose to interpret it as 'leader' or 'master' then it is their problem, not ours. Also, it's not like that Arabic language have no explicit equivalents of 'master' or 'leader', which is especially necessary if you want to deem something to be 'as clear as daylight'.
The Sunnis actually believe that Ali was the rightful Caliph and that Muawiyah should have gave him the bay'ah. On the same time, since we don't believe the sahaba to be infallible, we don't believe that one being in command automatically means the others cannot challenge each and every decision the leader / commander makes, which were pretty evident in both Muawiyas demand of justice to Ali and Huseins demand of justice to Yazid.
In both Ali and Muawiyahs case, both thought that the other was delaying justice. Ali believes that justice can and will be done after the unity of muslims, while Muawiyah believes that the sanctity of muslim blood trumps everything else and therefore justice must be done right away. Both had valid justifications for their respective stances, though in the end Alis stance is closer to the truth than Muawiyahs.
Which brings us to the point about Alis bay'ah to Abu Bakr. Let alone a valid justification, Ali actually didn't have ANY justification to not give Abu Bakr as-Siddiq the bay'ah. If he had one, he'd NEVER gave the bay'ah due to Alis (and the sahabas) love and commitment for justice.
As for Yazid being a Khalifah after Muawiya, actually... even Husein acknowledged Yazids leadership. Before the letters of Kufians reached Husein, there was no problem between the people and the leader. Even after Husein went to Karbala, he still thought that Yazid was the leader of Muslims. Why wouldn't he? He went from Madina, to Kufah, and to Karbala to demand justice for the Kufians, who were actually a bunch of treacherous people themselves. Unfortunately, the Shiites thought this as an attempt to challenge Yazids leadership by Husein, or that Husein never accepted Yazid as a legitimate leader on the first place, which is factually wrong.
In other words, not only Yazid was the 'Caliph of Sunnis', but he's also the 'Caliph of Shia Imams'. :D
You can also insist for the rest of your life that Sunnis celebrate the death of Husein. Fact is, we don't. Whether there were people who actually celebrated his death or not is irrelevant to us. Husein is a shaheed and have attained the 'True Success', and that is all that matters.

My initial comment was about the fact the Sunnis would follow the Sunnah of Ahl al-Bayt, meaning their teachings and actions, which in and of itself the Sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and his Ashaab radiyallahu 'anhu. On the other hand, you interpret it as supporting them against any of their 'enemies'.

When the prophet pbuh said hold on to my ahlul bayt, it means do what the ahlul bayt are doing. Imam Ali r.a accepted the first 3 caliphs for 25 years so we accept his decision. Imam Hassan r.a gave the khilafat to ameer Muhawia r.a so we accept his decision.
Imam Hussain r.a refused to accept yazid as leader we accept his decision too. So it’s Sunnis who are holding on to the ahlul bayt not Shias.
Imam Ali(A.S) accepted the caliphate of the 3, to ensure the unity of the muslim ummah. The khilafa was rightfully his, but to him, the unity of muslim ummah was more important. Missing the name of Allah by Br. Farid in this Hadith does not change the essence of the meaning.
He says the Prophet doesnt mention 4 rightly guided caliphs. He's right. But he mentioned 30 years of the rightly guided caliphate, which coincided with the first 4 + Hassan. He said Sunnis say it was rightly guided yet all the rightly guided caliphs refused caliphate. Yet the 12 imams were somehow divinely appointed yet there was so much disagreement over who many of the 12 imams actually were lol.
He says appointing the caliph by shura is unislamic (quran tells us to refer to shura) yet ijtihad about who the 12 DIVINELY APPOINTED imams are is fine.
Now onto history. He says we should read history. If we read history we see the shia states have been allying with the kuffar against islam and working against islam from the start. (they helped the mongols destroy the abbasids, the fatimids helped the crusaders, safavids stabbed ottomans in the back which led them to being defeated in Vienna etc etc). But i guess it proves its in their nature then that they wouldnt see the first century of islamic conquests as great, since they had no part to play in it.
One more thing. You cant use the hadith about 12 caliphs as evidence for the 12 imams, because its clear the shias used the hadith as the basis of their fantasy in the first place. The hadith of Al-Thaqalayn insists especially on the Qur'ân, but the Qur'ân does not support the Shiite doctrine at all, since the conditions of faith are mentioned in the Qur'ân, but not the conditions of faith according to Shiism, nor the name of the 12 imams.
The hadith also says that the ahl ul bayt are also the family of Ibn 'Abbas, 'Aqil, and others.
Moreover, the hadith speaks of considering and treating the Ahl ul bayt well, and not that they are infallible...

The same Al-Juwayni reports from Abdullah ibn Abbas (r) from the Prophet (s) who said, “I am the chief of the Prophets and Ali ibn Abi Talib is the chief of successors, and after me my successors shall be twelve, the first of them being Ali ibn Abi Talib and the last of them being Al-Mahdi.”

But the hadith of I remind you of Ahlu Albayt only exists.
I searched and found that Hadith thaqalyn exists in tirmidhi .
And the hadith is weak in but Al Albani considered it sahih .

What that Shia doesn't even realize is that when mentioning the hadith in regards to the treatment of Ahlul Bayt is that it doesn't even specify any sort of appointment, all it does is make it clear that the Ahlul Bayt should be should in high regards with how important they are pertaining to Allah. The Shia also doesn't realize when Rasulullah (SAW) points out the 12 caliphs, he specified that their times would be when Islam was great. He (SAW) didn't mention anything about their virtues, characteristics, traits, etc, rather he (SAW) specified the strength of Islam at that time. This means that this sort of Khulafah was a political position instead of the divine imamate position the Shias attribute to their 12 imams.
Yazid is there rightly guided khalifa. So sunni consider his acts of marrying the mother and drinking alcohal as Godly acts.....

If the Twelver Shia are unable to prove the Imamah of their 12 Imams for their own books - how do you expect them to prove it from the Quran and the Sunnah? BTW @ 28:40 the report that Farid quoted from his book "Tahreefat al-Saduq" was shocking. Kulayni narrates a report that doesn't mention 12 Imams - so a century later their scholar Saduq comes and alters the same narration by adding the name of 12 Imams. How can you base your Aqeedah on such distorted narrations?

Hadith speaks about 12 caliphs from QURAISH,and not from Ahlul Bayt only. From Quraish are also AbuBakr,Umar etc.
