I know right! People are saying 2020 is the best but I disagree it doesn't and cannot top this

@@iffatrizvi9531 umm no offence or disrepect to the actors but for me first flaw was the casting of 2020 version, Mr. Knightly is supposed to be 16 years older than emma and here JLM looks a bit older but still dashing filling that Austen criteria perfectly whereas in 2020 version the actor playing this role hardly looks even 3-4 years emma's senior.
Plus the end scene of 2009 is my fav thing best and most wholesome ❤ whereas i just couldn't bare to watch the whole confession scene of 2020 version cuz of that nose bleed and all 🙄
Still just my opinion, no hate to actors or the fans of that version. 🙏

@@amberap2827 agreed! The cast of the 2020 version, it seem form the interviews, did their best to play the characters but the script fell in some places: like the nose bleed also anyagaylor joy said she played Emma so animatedly (this is paraphrasing) and it's true because the first time I got to know about this version was through a gif and for a second I did think it was animated, it was the gif of th box hill scene where she eats a strawberry? While having an eye contact with knightley.
Also the gap between Emma and knightley is a big part of their dynamic and story the 2009 version was better at representing that, also in this version it looked like Emma and Knightley were simply friends but in the novel and 2009 verison the point depicted clearly is that Emma and Knightley are the in a way meant to be due to being the only ones in Highbury of that class, bonded by their siblings marriage and Knightley's good relations with Mr Woodhouse, there their friendship, or which was more than that bbecaus rod knowing each other since the you get one was born seemed more natural and their eventual end more meant to be and obvious
