I have seen Blackmore's Night many times. They always respect Jethro Tull, and I recall them covering a few Tull songs, including "Rainbow Blues." I think this track and it's album namesake is a nod to Tull's "Fire At Midnight", from "Songs From The Wood". Great!
Trivia - the inspiration for Fires at Midnight is based on a composition by Alfonso The Wise of Castille (1221-1284). Blackmore first heard it from German traditional musicians and Night created the lyrics while staring at the stars while RB played the tune
One of my favorite BK songs, Ritchie and Candice doing their thing. Great music.

Great review and your thoughts … most times Blackmore’s compositional skills get overlooked because of his amazing guitar playing etc
