One of the most inspiring and beautiful documentaries anyone can see! Nan Golden proves that artists have long been at the forefront of change in society.

❤ i adore and love nan goldin since I saw for the first time her work in the 90's in books, then in 2003 saw live an exhibition in Lisbon and I cried of happiness and how vulnerable her work makes me feel every single time, finally, after many years I can see her everywhere, all the beauty and so on ...thank you, I hope you read this one day

Why is it coming to HBO Max AFTER the Oscars? It's the only Oscar nominated movie that isn't steadily available, I'm not gonna watch it after the Oscars 🙄

You can rent it for like 6 bucks if you want to see it - Which is less than a movie ticket so I was okay with it

why would you not watch it after the Oscars? not enough patience?🙄

@@jessedubinsky2569 Because, like many people, I want to watch all of the Oscar nominated movies before the actual Oscars lol. This isn't something I would watch if it wasn't Oscar nominated and it's not something I would watch once the Oscars are over. People like to play games during the Oscars and root for certian movies, this isn't a farfetched concept. I can't root for movies if I haven't seen them.
Luckily it became available for rent before the Oscars so I was able to watch.

Nan is only one of the stories affected by the opioid and AIDS crises. There are plenty others who resonate with Nan’s story, too many in fact. While details may not be the same, the name is Sackler through and through

@@cobrastyle2223 I’m sure the coal miner from West Virginia has a ton in common with some Warhol following whackjob. I know for you, it’s easier to care for her. But not for the rest of the country.

A really dull documentary concentrating more on the pretty awful photography of Nan Goldin. Her photographs have no form, only content, which, admittedly is about a sparsely covered subject at the time. But her pix are nothing more than random snaps that have little to no artistic content. Great shame, cos she'd been Saul Leiter or another great photographer of the time, this would haven been a lot more interesting.
