The last MP I bought at Toys R Us was Grimlock, the reissue in the box for about $80. MPs are the only Transformers I collect. Great vid!!

Apparently MPM Bonecrusher was at Target somewhere but I didn't see it.

The Flame 🔥 Toys model kits at Hobby Lobby have been Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Star Scream. And every other week they do a 40% off sale on all model kits. Just about a month ago I found the Star Scream on clearance for $12.50 at one of my local Hobby Lobby stores. I have also seen some of these kits at Barnes And Noble from time to time, the latest being Leo Prime for about $80.00 or so. These kits have been in Hobby Town as well in my area. I just hope that Hobby Lobby gets some more of the newer kits in the near future.

I was very lucky, found skyfire at target on the shelf for $80. I did already have starscream, but the coronation version was at Ross for $11.99. Your correct, he's still sitting at Walmart for $55. All of the masterpiece transformers I have came from Ebay, toy shows and comic/toy shops.

9:57 i double dipped when seeing it at Ross for ~$15. Burlington got it later for about $20.
11:48 I'm not a fan of the beyverse aesthetic, but I picked up a few MPMs when they hit 70% off
14:28 I used to see quite a bit of furai model kits at Barnes and Noble, and occasionally see a sale on their website for a % off and be tempted to pick up something.
Another oddity is gamestop's website would occasionally have MP figures. A while back during one of their B1G2 free sales, I picked up 2 MPs (nightbird) and a soundwave helmet. Don't think I ever saw a $100+ MP figure in a Gamestop store, and maybe saw $100+ TF helmets at a few, but those surprise clearance sales, they sometimes show up as available to add to carts & buy.

The slavish devotion to "Cartoon Accuracy" didn't help. There's way too much engineering now to make the toon look somewhat possible [usually it results in lot's of back kibble] that pushes the prices upwards [the prices we pay for carbots now compared to what we paid for MP Sideswipe is eye watering]. Inflation was going to inflate the prices anyway, but needing to be screen accurate isn't helping.

10 years ago, it was fun to re-create childhood memories by purchasing a Masterpiece in person like many of us did with the G1 line. With Masterpiece left to third-party, maybe we will get the Missing Link line at US retail on a 6-12 month delay. Either way, without TRU, the good old days of high-end Transformers at box store retail are a thing of the past. But they are still great memories!

No. The Adamas line like everything under the T-spark umbrella are Japanese only lines. They're not copying Flame toys, but the line is a collaboration between Takara and various designers/ companies. I have no idea who is working on the Predaking, but it may not be a Flame' s toy collaboration, or maybe it will be. We wont know till its officially announced.

Between price point and Hasbruh's massively 🐳💩 distribution (I *NEVER* saw MPM10 Starscream, MPM12 Bumblebee Movie Optimus, MPM13 Blackout, or MPM14 Bonecrusher in stores, even though Target had all of'em in the app and on the website, and swore that each were in stores despite the only one I ever saw in stores was MPM11 Ratchet)
Them Flame Toys model kits: I only saw the Bumblebee one once before the two closest GameStops to me both went under during the pandemic.

It would have been cool to see TakaraTomy MP figures show up at Walmart at a lower price. Because of the high price, I don't get a lot of their releases unless I can find them on eBay for a good price or there's a KO.

Cool Soundwave with 5 cassette Formers back then. Toys 'R Us had too much competition in the end to sustain all those stores. Stores like Walmart/Target tend to go with lower priced figures, rarely see anything above $100 other than Lego probably in 2024. Thanks.

I think it is because Takara is behind KOs. Why do all of the work to sell at retail when you can produce a product, not worry about QC. And sell it direct from factory to local retailers.

The trainbot is a big mess better off with Moon studio, thank god i waited and preordered the mpg09. Hoping the line gives us a Overlord to with...or the fans toys version would be better..will have to wait i guess. Seems like FT is cooking up the rest fortress magnuss FT-40B.. wonder how high of a price tag that would be.

Hypothetically speaking, If MP were to stop, I know the lifeblood of G1 ,which is Gen X , would create things such as art, comics, animation, customized toys, blogs, vlogs, and other things to fill the void.
With the advances that are being made in 3-D printing and AI , I truly think we may be, as a community, standing on the verge of a new phase of possibilities with Transformers. Things that will blow your mind like customized Roberson projects, only more advanced.
I could be wrong, but If I’m not mistaken, I think I remember seeing the Roberson Prime prototype floating around on the internet long before we knew of the company Roberson. I was under the impression that it was someone’s labor of love for TFs.
Call me silly, but I saw a bot that was created by Boston Dynamics, called Atlas 2.0, that caused me to believe that we will see real Transformers in our lifetime…I believe that’s why this franchise resonated with us as youth so strongly. We knew that we were seeing the real future.
In a nutshell, if MP were to go, the spirit of TFs will not. It is here to stay for a long time.

I kind of disagree, I don't think the masterpiece market has died, but I think we're kind of in a hiatus and the middle of a rebranding. If you think about it the masterpiece series basically was a reboot or a alternator/binaltech 2.0. I always got the impression that the mp01 was designed initially to fit in with th alternator line so you would have a Optimus that was in scale with the figures of that series, and evolved into something else.
I think the problem is things have become very politicized in this country right now, the economy is all over the place, and you get idiots running various companies that don't know what the heck they're doing. I personally think the most important thing that a company can do when delivering a product to a fan base is to have variance within the timeline so that you don't have just one product appealing to one market, but several items to several different types of people so that you have a wider range. Using Darwinism as an example, The specialist or the animal that specializes in one thing is usually the one set up for extinction if their environment changes or they don't have a proper food supply, but rather the one that's a jack of all trades like a raccoon are going to be able to survive much more likely because of the fact that they have different avenues to go down in case something happens to their ecology. When it comes to a business I think the same approach needs to be done.
I do think that the masterpiece will come back but it might be labeled as something else. This has been a very popular line because it's been around for 15 years, and I don't see it quite disappearing because that's what you see with the third party companies, which tend to supply something that Hasbro usually doesn't produce.
Again I think you have a bunch of idiots running Hasbro because they think that they're a game company and not a toy company anymore, and they're just setting themselves up to fall. They're an example of a company that I think that means be broken up and then and they trust suit into individual companies again so that they're actually profitable.
Kind of a long winded explanation or opinion, but this is what I think is going on.

The days of masterpiece on shelves is over. Start crying. The fan base has become more secular and $$ too $$ for stores to take losses for crooks and thieves 😅
