Even when you default, you will still end up with high inflation or hyperinflation because no one will buy Amer debt or hold usd. Value of usd will crash, hence, hyperinflation.

And thats what the Central banks are once again holding and Accumulating and this is why Gold is staying above $2500 now and the only other commodities that keep getting smacked down is Silver platinum and Palladium... Personally I think the Central banks will soon make Silver once again a Tier 1 asset and start accumulating silver as well... Of coarse they wont alert the public of this until they have a Decent size fill. Could be also why Places like India and China are buying large amounts of Silver now.

A gold standard just keeps the government from creating money out of thin air like they've pretty much been doing since we came off the gold standard in 1971. Most folks didn't own any gold back then either except for jewelry maybe. Just my opinion.
You still use paper money, it is just backed by by gold. With the current fiat dollar, it is not backed by anything, the only things that gives it value is the faith and trust people put in it. Remove the trust and faith and the dollar becomes worthless. The dollar is now in a very big trouble with the world dedollarizing movement as this erodes the trust and faith in the dollar.

Agree. Very likely we r headed for a decade long bear market in all western assets. It will be a period of geopolitical n currency changes. Within US this is the chance to do the long-needed economic n social n government reforms. If we succeed, US will be on a long-term sustainable growth path in a decade. But we must take the pain 1st n do the adjustments. From investing pov, sell all US, european equities n bonds. Go long Gold and Crypto. Go long emerging market trade........ I have managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 732k in the space of a few months... Complete nonsense if China want to make youn global exchange currency but at same time put similar restrictions like US do on dollars. So what if Russia company bring a piece og gold to pay for imported from China goods. And sell oil and being paid in gold again. ?Saddly there are not enough hand golden coins to exchanged. So maybe answer is to introduce golden coins representing specific weight? From 1g 10g 100g to 1kg bars? Then price of oil coukd be represent in g of gold ber barrel not dollar.

The dollar as a system is in jeopardy, but gold hasn't been a good system hedge for many years. Large real estate and large commercial buildings have been and will continue to be good ports of safety. Even bitcoin will not offer a good system hedge.
