Sheikh Ahmed Deedat:
In 1986, the King Faisal Foundation awarded the King Faisal International Prize for SERVICE TO ISLAM, to a South African who is more or better known than many dignitaries in their own countries. This was the first time that this prestigious award has been awarded to a South African. The recipient of this award was a man totally dedicated to his faith and its propagation and who was not afraid to challenge any one to a debate to settle once and for all the matter, who has the good news right? He was none other than Sheikh Ahmed Deedat, reverently known and called UNCLE by those who hold him in high esteem and admiration.
The award came after a lifetime of struggle to propagate Islam and to defend Islam against the onslaught of the missionaries. Finally, he was given recognition by the international Muslim community that he deserved and focused more sharply the attention of the Muslim world on the most important aspect of his work, the challenge to propagate Islam. This was his life long ambition to focus the Muslim world's attention and resources on the propagation of Islam, and at last he succeeded. What a moment of jubilation, achievement and personal gratification for Sheikh Deedat the award was, a turning point in his life.
Sheikh Deedat did not have much formal schooling, but he was self-taught through experience and a penchant for reading, debating, discussion, and a profound sense of commitment to a mission and goal. He was driven and goal oriented. He was focused and never let up until the job was done. He was sharp, perceptive, forthright, fiery, and daring in his challenge of those whom he debated, particularly against those who equal his missionary zeal and sense of audacity. Formal schooling did not destroy his creative prowess, his tenacity, ambition, drive, and sheer daring to swim upstream.
Sheikh Deedat was more a scholar of the Bible than the Qur'an, and was more familiar and adroit with its teachings. He had an insight and perspective of the Bible which made many Christians he came into contact with rethink and re-examine their faith, particularly those aspects of the Bible and the Qur'an that deal with the divine mission and life of Prophet Jesus.
On May 3, 1996, Sheikh Ahmed Deedat suffered a stroke which left him paralyzed from the neck down, and also meant that he could no longer speak or swallow. He was flown to a hospital in Riyadh, where he was taught to communicate through a series of eye-movements. He spent the last nine years of his life in a bed in his home in Verulam, South Africa, encouraging people to engage in da'wah. He continued to receive hundreds of letters of support from around the world. During these years, rumors spread throughout the Internet that he was already dead, and even some websites that contained his pamphlets mentioned as early as 2002 that he was dead.
On August 8, 2005, Ahmed Deedat finally succumbed to his prolonged illness and died at his home in Trevennen Road, Verulam in the province of KwaZulu Natal.
Late Ahmed Deedat was a man of wise. He showed the so called christian scholars how to read their own bible. May Allah grant him Jannatul Ferdous.

THE book of Revelation contains expressions that are not to be understood literally. (@1) For example, it mentions a woman with the name “Babylon the Great” written on her forehead. This woman is said to be sitting on “crowds and nations.” (@17@17@17) Since no literal woman could do this, Babylon the Great must be symbolic. So, what does this symbolic prostitute represent?At @17, the same figurative woman is described as “the great city that has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.” The term “city” indicates an organized group of people. It can rightly be called a world empire. What kind of empire? A religious one. Notice how some related passages in the book of Revelation lead us to this conclusion.An empire can be political, commercial, or religious. The woman named Babylon the Great is not a political empire because God’s Word states that “the kings of the earth,” or the political elements of this world, “committed sexual immorality” with her. She has practiced such immorality by forming alliances with the rulers of this earth and has done whatever is necessary in order to gain power and influence over them. That is why she is called “the great prostitute.”-@17@4.Babylon the Great cannot be a commercial empire because “the merchants of the earth,” representing the commercial elements, will be mourning her at the time of her destruction. In fact, both kings and merchants are described as looking at Babylon the Great from “a distance.” (@18@18@18) Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that Babylon the Great is, not a political or a commercial empire, but a religious one.The religious identity of Babylon the Great is further confirmed by the statement that she misleads all the nations by means of her “spiritistic practices.” (@18) Since all forms of spiritism are religious and demon-inspired, it is not surprising that the Bible calls Babylon the Great “a dwelling place of demons.” (@18@18) This empire is also described as being actively opposed to true religion, persecuting “prophets” and “holy ones.” (@18) In fact, Babylon the Great has such deep hatred for true religion that she violently persecutes and even murders “the witnesses of Jesus.” (@17) Hence, this woman named Babylon the Great clearly represents the world empire of false religion, which includes all religions that stand in opposition to Jehovah God.
grvc44 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes (Matthew 10:23). Last 2000 years, christian people have been fleeing from one city to another city believing in false hope to meet jesus and they are perishing. You also start to flee from one city to another and you will die and perish but could not meet jesus. Your bible is full of false prophecy as it is not the word of God.
shondor Lal now that you miss interpreted that txt, i tell you it's about the prosecution of his followers and it is done by christian and non christian religion. remember jesus himself was prosecuted. in mathew 23 jesus talks about his second coming after the global empire of false religion is destroyed and after armagedon as prophesied in daniel 2:44 and revl 16. why would you say that the bible is hopeless when in fact the GOD mention there has shown his powers? maybe the Quran is hopeless it's doesn't contain accuracy on creation of mankind and islam belief in evolution worsen the idea that it was written by one man's delusion who can't even perform miracles.

Neither Deedat or the jehovahs witnesses tell us who these "32 bible scholars" are. Also this "information" comes from the jehovahs witness own magazine THE WATCH TOWER in 1957. We must also remember the jehovahs witnesses are a religious sect who claim to be christians - but are not.

When I watch sheikh Ahmed Deedat my eyes are filled with tears because of love and admire I have to this man. The man who didn´t know arabic, who was very poor, who barely finished elementary school and couldn´t proceed further because of poverty, and yet he managed to do all that he has done in the age when there was no mobile phones no internet, technology was zero in compare with today and also in South africa where because of his background he had really hard time. And yet he became a lion of Islam. That is unbelievable and undescribable. I cannot express how much I love him and really hope that Allah will give him Jannatul Firdaus and I hope that I will meet him there. Amin

Elhaj Ahmed Deedat was a true Inspiration to millions of people all around the globe. He never visited the university but using the Bible and Quran he was able to teach university students and Professors about Who God really is.

the word 'bible' is not mentioned in bible. God never said read book bible. 'the new and old testiment' words are not mentioned in the bible. Jesus never said to celebrate his birthday, good Friday, easter. Jesus never said worship me or holy spirit. word 'pastor, bishop, pope, etc' not mentioned in the bible. God never said take 66 books to gether and call it word bible. Jehova or Jesus or holy spirit never said Jesus died. the word 'trinity,Xmas tree, carol singing' are not mentioned in the bible.

"Les fictions de la tradition orale se sont mêlées aux miracles rapportés par Luc, l'écrivain les ayant ajoutées par exagération poétique, et il est impossible, en ce moment, de discerner ce qui est authentique et ce qui ne l'est pas".
Comment, des récits qui ont le caractère de l'exagération poétiques seraient il inspirés ? Il résulte, donc, des paroles d'Eichhorn que nous avons rapportées plus haut :
1) Que l'Evangile primitif s'est perdu.
2) Que dans les Evangiles actuels le vrai est mêlé à des traditions apocryphes.
3) Que le texte en a été altéré, et que Celsus reproche aux . leurs Evangiles plus de trois Chrétiens, dès le 2ème siècle, d'avoir déjà change ou quatre fois.
4) Qu'on ne trouve aucune mention de ces trois Evangiles avant la fin du 2ème siècle ou le commencement du 3ème. La théorie d'un Evangile primitif dont le texte se serait perdu, et où Matthieu, Luc, et Marc auraient puisé, a été soutenue aussi par le Clerc, Koppe Michaëlis, Lessing, Niemeyer, et Marsh (cf Horne, vol. Deedat devoted his life to misrepresenting the Bible (i. e. lying about the Torah, the Prophets, the Gospel and all of its other parts). The Bible does not teach incest, it condemns incest. Jesus did not deny His crucifixion, He talked about it openly. Etc...

@@orthodoxoschristianos435 I'm an American atheist, but have read the Alcoran in 3 translations, several editions of the Bible, as well as the Tao Te Ching, the Analects of Confucius, the Sutras of the Buddha, as well as the works of numerous pagan philosophers. I think I can thus act impartially, and say Deedat was totally right about everything he said was in the Bible and in the Alcoran.

i think in this discussion, that JV preacher guy did very well. No offence intended, but Mr. Deedat could have had considered deeper issues. Even if we were to accept that the bible was written by the prophets or messengers of God than your statement would still not stand as you cannot say that Moses who is supposedly of written genesis to confirm the gospels or writings of Paul.
