I remember when the WR on the Seahawks Ricardo Lockette got hit on that kickoff return by the cowboys player and Lockette saying the doctors told him if he had tried to get up too fast after the hit, he could’ve died and seeing Tua try to get up and stumble and struggle to even hold himself up and nb telling him to stay down is rlly scary they rlly fumbled on that one (no pun intended) that situation could’ve gone so much worse bc of the lack of control, professionalism and due diligence that was done by all of these people who apparently has all the power and say so in Tua not coming back

15:58 A ref once took me out the game playing basketball. I pinned a dude, and my momentum kept going I landed straight on my back. I heard everyone gasp so then I got scared. I sat there for a sec and hopped up to run back on offense and he was like nawwwww. Subbed me straight out.

Knew a guy that played 9 yrs in the league and he’s going through concussion so bad that he left his family and is back home with his parents living in the basement pitch dark smoking weed and drinking just to cope. Sad story

The spotter is a part of the athletic training staff of the team. they are in the skybox and have direct communication with the athletic training staff on the field. Which allows eyes from the sky and direct ground communication

This podcast is probably a contributing factor as to why NFL players don’t get the post-career healthcare they want.
If I was an owner and heard players have a culture I’d TRYING to play with concussions and to overcome player safety measures, I’d refuse to pay for their healthcare too. The players are clearly happy to accept the risk of playing hurt so their long term injuries seem to be on them. That’s their choice.
