I would love a game that gives you feedback on your powerpoint slide deck works, because often it isn't what you say but what you don't say in your back brief that can make or break your career.
Oh, this has just engaged my inner nerd! Been miniatures gaming naval warfare from (Napoleonic to modern) for well over 30 years and this looks brilliant!
Btw I don’t know if you’re aware but if you don’t take any territory(well 0 value of territory, you can take territories that have 0 value) in a winning peace deal then you get a small boost to your base resources instead. This can be preferable to taking colonies in some cases, like if you can take the colonies in a future war by invasion instead.
I am going to be honest, youtube just recommended this video to me and after having shamelessly skipped trough, i will say this game is a autism glue trap.
Well I have good news for you ;) won’t be a playthrough but more of an After action report where I talk about the wars I fought and how I upgrade my fleet so I don’t get dunked on by the ai
>Rule the waves Veteran >started with Rule The Waves 2 Ah yet another noob who has never experienced the absurdly broken armour penetration values of Rule The Waves 1. (Inb4 somebody who started the series with Steam and Iron calls me a noob lol) Btw regarding torpedoes being worthless on battleships I like them for one very specific reason, it lets you know the range at which your battleships can be torpedoed in battles
Here from DougDougDoug’s “I will delete this video at 1 million views” video at 1:06:27 a view mentioned this game, and was curious. I wonder if someone did the same?
Hey I've been trying to learn this. Could you maybe give examples of each class of ships early on? Bc I love history but know nothing about the jargon in this game. Nvm you did that lol. However what country is best to start with in 1890?
Probably Germany, you have a lot of money but not a lot of possessions. It’s not the end of the world if you lose you far east territory. And the lingo is very confusing sometimes😅 hopefully I’ll do a second video explaining some more parts of the game that happen later on
The united states is probably the easiest nation in the game. You start off smaller but you have the most economic growth, eventually you will eclipse even Britain budget wise and ship wise. You start with some few colonies though they are all in the pacific, literally next door
Some of the smaller nations can be nice to play as you won't have to manage such a huge fleet or area. I often jump to Italy or autria hungary (A-H) and just stay in the med. - As A-H for example you can make a lot of your ships short range which saves on displacement for fuel since you will be mostly fighting in the Adriatic. - Ship design is really about what tech you have, do you have room for doing a refit for newer tech to keep life in the ship class (new ships cost more than refits), you might be forced to make a poor design for a short-term need or go through your fleet and refit their engines to run Oil instead of coal which saves a LOT of weight. - Pre-Dreads have a short lifespan when the 1905 year hits and you start getting those tasty dreadnaught techs, might not want to build an expensive hotel around then, but your country may pressure you to make new battleships before you got dreadnaught tech. - Early Heavy Cruiser (CA) design is kind of like making a pre-dreadnaught era Battlecruiser (BC); however, later on BCs will be massive compared to CAs which you can design for a niche, maybe make them cruiser killers, or AA platforms, or both. Some early CA designs can be "future proofed" so they can be rebuilt into a seaplane tender, or a light carrier (CVL), to do carrier tech beyond the early levels you need a carrier built anyway and purpose built carriers are not available as early as re-builds. I think a CA caps at 12,000 tonnes displacement, but CVLs can be purpose built to 16,000. They also have to go 20kn or higher in order to not need a catapault to launch planes. So a 12k CA with low armor, 21kn, and lots of guns can be easily gutted into an okay CVL around the 1918s. - CAs and CLs get a LOT of action because of all the smaller fleet battles the AI often jumps into so don't skimp on them. - DDs go through a massive build-up as tech continues to increase their upper displacement cap; however, refitting the old ones to use lighter engines, lighter fuels, etc will allow you to toss on extra torpedo tubes. So even old DDs can be pulled out of mothball to dump torpedoes in battle. - KEs are dedicated trade protection and mine sweepers, they are always AI controlled. Of note, their displacement can be reduced in size if you are at war, the game basically says they are drafted fishing vessels, super cheap to build taking like 2months to build vs 8-10. However, they are lost when war ends. So keeping the larger ones around is basically there to have dedicated protection ships. - As for purpose built carriers, well by 1945 armor piercing bombs for dive bombers is unlocked... that is when CVs ascent to dominance. You gotta have like 7" of deck armor to survive those. xD
@@PerfectDeath4 speaking of smaller fleet, setting the fleet size to a smaller size in the menu before you start a game can also be a tremendous help, especially if you really want to play someone bigger
Hey man sorry for bothering i lost the other account but can you help me with only 1 thing ? i learned the game sending like 4 bb 3 CL 5 and other ships i create but the thing bothers me is how do i make the Other dimension help the main dimension ? like CL Helping BB i know that now but im making them AI control and putting them into support or scout but they come near then just go away any fix ?
‘Core’ means they will follow behind, ‘screen’ means they’ll stay nearby in a screening pattern to protect the other division from destroyers and aircraft attacks, ‘scout’ means they will sail ahead of the fleet allowing them to find the enemy, ‘support’ is different depending on the ships, carriers on support will stay a good bit back from the fleet, destroyers will stay nearby and attack enemy ships approaching the supported division.
May i ask how your sending multiple ships with division to war ? i dont have the best english accent so im used to cc when i send ships to war only 1 or 2 goes even though i have 2 divisions with max 5 ships they all are dreadnoughts
So the game simulates availability rates of ships, so some ships might be in for maintenance and some might be travelling separately to rearm or refuel. Ngl, it’s random the amount of ships that get put into the battle. If you have fleet battles, invasion or carrier battles, you are more likely to get 4 or maybe 5 of your divisions ships into battle as the battles are more set pieces, rather than battles by chance. It’s really complicated how they determine the ships in battle and sometimes you got to live with what they throw at you
@@RedDagger Hey man sorry if im interrupting but any way that you know increase monthly balance ? im scrapping ships lowering the expenses but it increases little by little i once had around 5k monthly balance i didnt know how i did it can you help me i checked the manual i didnt see anything with the name of money or balance
To increase your budget (apart from doing the normal multiple choice options) is to gain territory (high valued the land the more money you get) or not use all victory points when in the seize possession screen as the game compensates you for not taking all territory. Another way I do to save money is to make different sorts of ships. For example, I make 2 different destroyers, 1 is a cheap trade protection ship that’s good in asw and a heavier destroyer that’s good in battles with other ships. You can also get rid of pre dreadnaughts when the time comes as they are pretty useless. Another thing to do is refit battleships instead of making new ones. 30 or 40 thousand ton bb are more than enough for the rest of the game. Tbh there are loads of different ways but you can kinda true all of them all at once
@@RedDagger thanks for telling me the DD puts me into sticky situtation though i dont know how to make ships in game all i can do is make turrets heavier and increase power

It seems pretty close to Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts.
But better 😉
But better and realistic
