Stumbled upon your channel and your videos are lovely. I’m a Masters student in Berlin raising a daughter who is Peruvian and American but is growing up in Germany. I often worry/wonder what this will mean for her and her identity as she grows up. It’s really interesting hearing your perspective and experience. Hope you enjoy your time in Berlin!
Thank you, that is very kind, and a very good question. I’m also a masters student right now, but don’t have a daughter (yet) - I have thought the same thing, but then again, I am reminded by how much richer my life has been thanks to the opportunity to grow in places that have shaped my identity so dearly. Identity is an ever-shifting, evolving thing. It can be challenging sometimes to not fit in always, but I think as you get older you come to appreciate the complexities of being mixed & what that means to you. I’m certain your little one will find parts herself in both worlds & connect to her cultures in meaningful ways ❣️

Wow, the YT algorithm is working wonders! I'm half German and my dad was born in Bamberg. Berlin has been calling my name for a while now but I'm still working up the courage to jump ship. I'm so excited to follow your journey!
WHAT That is so cool! Ok we need to talk haha would love to hear about your experience in Bamberg and exchange stories 💙 where are you currently living?
