I actually think it is the intent of the person watching more than it is about the content itself. For example, if someone is watching to get fulfillment they lack in a relationship, then it might not be healthy (better to have honest communication in the relationship to negotiate for including elements everyone wants). Whereas if someone is watching for healthier reasons such as exploration of what they are into and able to convey that in a relationship, then I believe that is better. The problem is when watching begins to negatively impact their life.

Straight male here: I don't watch it for many reasons. The biggest one being I didn't feel good after watching it. There's just something that feels very unnatural about watching it for me. While exploitation is a big problem in the porn industry, the current state of it as a legal business does impose some controls against exploitation, these obviously need to be enforced and improvised. Banning porn would likely have the opposite effect and make issues of exploitation worse.
I personally quit watching that stuff, it literally changes how you view people and sets unrealistic standards.

I think it depends on how it's used. My boyfriend and I have watched porn together to get us in the mood. It's not every time, but we use it here and there for fun. We mainly communicate and guide each other on how we want to be pleasured, but sometimes porn makes it interesting and easier to demonstrate a certain fantasy. Different things work for everyone, but I would say it does enhance my relationship. As long as people accept and understand that porn is not realistic, I see no issue.

several studies have shown porn alters ur brain receptors in a very negative way. lots of psychologists and psychiatrists have agreed. a porn addiction is one of the most damaging addictions one can have as it quite literally impacts certain chemicals in your brain. although imo its none of my business what anyone watches, i think porn as a whole shouldnt be advertised as something completely normal and okay.
