  • In this episode Clare and Duncan undertake an epic project to improve the inside of the polytunnel, to make the best use of the space, giving extra room for sowing seeds and protecting young crops from rodents and slugs for the 2024 growing season. Clare is very excited about this project!
This is a game changer for any polytunnel owner. A very easy project.
Anyone with a screwdriver and a tape measure can make this. It’s THAT simple!!
Watch the video to find out what it is.. we think it’s genius, and were inspired by a friend of this channel, over on instagram, who was herself inspired by the departed UA-cam gardening favourite Steve from Greenside Up.

Thanks Clare. I chose the name for a few reasons. Firstly as it’s basically what I am, working full time and having a busy family life I only really have the weekends to get down to the allotment which is a situation a lot of people find themselves in. I was hoping that others can relate to that and by keeping a productive, tidy allotment I wanted to show people that it can be done with a little hard work and planning.
      Have a great Sunday 🪴

It is just over half the length of the tunnel, but seems longer. Is your greenhouse wooden or aluminium? Just be mindful of the weight if it’s not wooden. A lot of people just tie up gravel trays with thick string.

A great build there Clare or should i say Duncan?😂 I'm surprised that you saw it being done on Instagram as UA-camrs have been making these for years now, Steve at Greenside Up RIP has been putting them in his Polytunnels for years, and talking about Steve he had staging in his that as soon as he had finished with its use he folded it up against the Polytunnel (not against the Plastic) clipped back and carried on growing in the same area, until he needed the staging again then he just folded it down. He used to dry his Onions off on it as well, it's worth thinking about? Take Care.

I only started growing things last June, so I guess a lot of the floating shelves were moved out by then. Think I started watching UA-cam gardening channels mid-June
I’m very wet behind the ears. The first one I saw was Pammie’s but she did say her inspiration was Steve. Sadly he’d already passed away when I found his channel, and it seems wrong somehow to watch him now.. as a new grower. Such a shame as he seemed to be so well loved and respected. 😭
