Another great story! I love these stories that focus on ordinary individuals, as opposed to the organized military. It is an idea that has such a rich potential, focusing on just one person, on the day of the zombie outbreak. IT is endlessly interesting. And very thought provoking. It makes you wonder what you would do, if you are just getting up in the morning, going about your regular routine----and suddenly the world ends! I think this is the first story in the series where we know that the protagonist is done for from the very beginning. He gets bit before he even knows the nature of the danger. In the context of the story, you have to wonder how many millions of people died and joined the zombie ranks just like that, while trying to help someone. How many people were killed just stepping out the door to go to work? What if you were retied and lived alone, and had no reason to go out that day? It could be days before you even knew anything was wrong! Now that's a chilling thought! The bit about 911 not answering was particularly effective. You live in a major metropolitan city, and 911 fails to answer? Oh, yeah, time to panic. I am really enjoying these stories! Please keep them coming!
You should do one of these on the first days of an outbreak, in Cooperstown PA. I live in a city near there, and it's a tiny town, that would be perfect for it lol. Lot's of guns, the layout would be awesome, and it would make this guy very happy lol

Reminds me of the Dead island 2 trailer, i was half expecting him to be running while the apocalypse happens behind him, He got the ultimate karma though for being an asshole, got clammed. Hopefully those armed men in the truck survived though
