    With all the real estate investments that I’ve seen going on within the Atlanta area in the last 7-8 years you would think that a person like Jay Morrison would at least be able to get involved and invest the money properly. I’ve seen multiple unit condominiums go up, I’ve seen retail/commercial real estate structures being built along the i85, and this guy had an $11 million dollar fund and fumbled it?!

    Historically, private equity funds have had minimal regulatory oversight because their investors were mostly high-net-worth individuals . This spelled doomed for the fund from the start.

    Any time you invest in any startup fund there is a risk you can lose your money. If the people knew that they don’t deserve anything back. Jay Morrison tried while everyone else just talks with no action (community activist, politicians, preachers, etc.) Nice effort Jay Morrison.

    I knew years before everyone that Jay was too materialistic and too european to build a well rounded movement. He wanted to celebrate and look like a baller before he put in the work. Dr Boyce wasn't well rounded enough and historically aware to recognize these things. He couldn't because Dr Boyce is too european to. What I mean is Black people can not afford to buy these fancy cars, watches and suits.

    People who don't read when they make investments will always thinks its a scam. You are never guaranteed to make money. The fund has money left. There's been numerous funds that had 0 dollars. Madoff stole for 20 years. If he's shady, he'll go to jail right? Sucks that it lost money though. Gotta read the fine print people.

    • @marquisbutler2780
      @marquisbutler2780 6 місяців тому +5

      He is shady but he may not go to jail because in the SEC filings it pretty much states how risky his business was. Also if you compare a reputable normal REIT or real estate investment trust to TREF you can see differences in how they are structured and managed. Jay made himself the CEO, CFO, COO, CTO and he didn’t have an independent audit group look at how the money was spent

      @@marquisbutler2780 facts! He wore all of the hats which wasn't traditional. Cant argue with you there. Investors should have still read what they were investing in. And the fact there is still money left might save his reputation. He tried his best

      @AGproductions87 interesting. I’m not sure his reputation can be “saved”. Look at what Pocket Watching With JT and Tony the Closer have posted about him. What positive contribution has he made to the financial community? I’m genuinely curious.

    • @BrokeMillionaire1
      @BrokeMillionaire1  6 місяців тому +7

      @AGproductions87 he has admitted to selling drugs to his own family members. Wasn’t he also a convict? Why would anyone entrust him with their money? I’m seriously wondering what “reputation” he has to save.
