Let me know if I missed anyone or if anybody should be added to the list!
Prince basically put out about 6 or 7 albums in a 2 to 3 yr period..Dirty Mind, Controversy, The Time, Vanity 6, 1999, What Time is It. Can u say prolific!!!
This entire album had Morris on lead vocals and some drums, and Prince on background vocals and everything else. The band was actually assembled after the album was recorded.
REST IN PEACE PRINCE 🕊️😇 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜❤️❤️💜💜💜❤️💜💜❤️💜💜❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
💜💜Prince Rogers Nelson 4ever💜💜💜💜
God 💜
Get it Up...one of the great uncredited Prince guitar solos committed to wax (or credited - the scream during the 2nd keyboard solo gives away the true identity of Jamie Starr).
Prolific man..
He got so much masterpieces
Music flows in Prince 24h, unique style, not of this world 💕 Love
Morris really partied up with The Time.
The vocal end of "Get it up" prefigures the end of "When doves cry".
You can hear Prince influence. Controversy was new wave sound like cuts from this album. Time was big for the long club dialogs and women in lingerie. High school parties was Prince and Time. Just turned 58 and thinking about artists who passed on. Life is short.
OMG how I love this album! I remember that when I first heard Get it Up, I thought it was Parliament 🙂...truly one of the best live bands I ever saw! Jessie Johnson was a beast on guitar! I still play the album from time to time, and reminisce about my wild and crazy 20's!
The Parliament reference is on point
@@mharrislove I even went to the record store and asked to buy a copy of Get It Up by Parliament cause I didn't see it in the racks! The guy told me he never heard it...I found out later that the song was made by The Time...
I personally think all the Time albums are great. It seems like Prince put all of his best outtakes on to them, and made an effort into making sure they were a success. Also Prince was really prolific in those early days, and Warner wouldn't allow him to put out more than one album a year, so he gave alot of his songs to The Time as a way of getting them out to the public.
Prince is the boss of the time 🧡🧡💙💙💜💜💛💛
🎶Get It Up🎶 was originally presented to the band Brick and they turn it down.
The Time's debut album always reminded me of Prince's Dirty Mind album (same synth sounds and very raw production). Actually it's Prince on all instruments and backing vocals except for the synth solo by Dr. Fink as well as the backing vocals by Lisa Coleman on "Cool" and of course the lead voice of Morris Day on all tracks, which modeled his voice on the vocal parts previously recorded by Prince ! 😉 My favorite track of the lot is "Cool".
"Cool" was the best song on the album.
I agree ! 😉
The were on tour with Prince when this album came out. It was the Controversy tour. The other opening act was Zapp. Talking about a good show...One of the best I have ever been to. The Time was definitely the best band to play Prince songs. I mean outside of Prince himself.
Y'all just don't know...The Time was THEE BAND to my high school sound track! Sweating out my perm at the noon dance (yes...Los Angeles Unified School District used to allow us to shut school down for an hour and a half and have an actual dance in the multipurpose room with a DJ and everything!) but yeah, the extended re-mix version of 777-9311 and The Walk!?!?!?!?!? EVERYONE was on the dance floor, even me with my two left feet!
Prince was the master at using keyboards to substitute for horns.
Prince did all the music on this album. Every instrument. The Time just put their vocals over his. They played in their other albums.
My favorite Time album is "What Time Is It"
This is a CLASSIC!
Iconic group
Did you realized that Alexander O'Neal was supposed to lead The Time as singer, but didn't?!?
Never mind I see you already have
A Funky LP by Jamie Starr!🤟🏽
This album takes me back to my partying days 😆😎🥰
Get It Up is by far my favorite song by The Time Produced by Prince and sampled by 2pac on a unrealeased song called"Is It Cool 2".
I 100% agree🔥👏👏 TLC also did a cover to Get It Up, I can't get enough of Lefteye's rap
You should react to all their albums including The Original 7ven. I think they are all worth it.
Agreed. If I Was Yo Man, Condensate and Sick are my favorite songs from The Original 7ven's album.
That condensate album is dope! "AYDKM, Role Play, Lifestyle, & Faithful" are 4 of my top songs on that one.
As a Prince fan, I'm slightly ashamed to say that I listened to their Pandemonium album far more than Graffiti Bridge. Weirdly enough all the bad Time songs at that time went on to Graffiti Bridge, which kind of ruined it, yet all their best stuff went on Pandemonium which made it a far better listen. I think Prince kinda shot himself in the foot with those choices.
@@SirHilaryManfat I mean personally....I think Graffti bridge was still a good album, outside of the FT's & with the exception of We can funk
@@willthomas2310 I really like Graffiti Bridge these days, but I listen to a reconfigured version on Spotify with just the Prince tracks (We Can Funk definitely included). It makes a very solid album, and I always felt that the inclusion of the collaboration tracks completely ruined the flow. Personally I think the whole Graffiti Bridge movie and soundtrack period was Prince's first big missfire in his career, and I wish that he'd just concentrated on refining the album only.
BODY ROOOOOOOLLing!
1st track 🔥 Enjoyed this overall.💛🕛
Black Rock! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!
I think it is Morris Day voice…it is different and I wouldn’t put him in the top 1000 R & B male voices. But sometimes different is good….and it fits well here.
Jessie is eating up that guitar and Jimmy Jam is killing them keys -Get it up
That's Prince on guitars and synths.....But yeah, in concert Jessie and Jimmy Jam were monsters.....
@@keithmurphy5356 I was going to say the same thing

Have you heard anything by The Family? They're another Prince project. It's very hard to find any of their stuff.
Yup I heard their entire album
@@JustJammin nice man. It's so hard to find any of their stuff. My dad has the album. I need to get it too.
@@asraidersoaktown I have the album as well but it's pretty hard to find.
Bro , You have to react to side 2 of the album. Cool and my stick.
Already did those.
@@JustJammin ok. I'll search
PRINCE all day!🔥🔥🔥🔥
