3:36- Actually, the Cape of Good Hope is the SouthWESTERN most point of Africa. However, the actual southernmost point of Africa is Cape Agulhas located 34 miles [54 miles] south of the iconic landmark.

42/50 ... This was indeed a challenging quiz! I knew the answer to 42 of the Q's without seeing the choices; didn't do so well on the 8 for which I had to make a guess! Thanks for the challenge!
Cape Agulhas is the geographic southern tip of Africa and the beginning of the traditional dividing line between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans according to the International Hydrographic Organization. It is approximately half a degree of latitude, or 55 kilometres (34 mi), further south than the Cape of Good Hope. ( Wikipedia : Cape Agulhas)
This was a pretty cool test!thanks for the informative video (by the way i am not a bot,but might look like i am one because of the very straight forward writing)
Hey, just a quick correction. The southernmost point of mainland Africa is actually Cape Agulhas, not the Cape of Good Hope. People often mix the two up.
I got 49/50 correct to score an A+, missing only question 21 which was a coin flip. A note about question 27, which asks which river forms part of the USA-Mexico border. I knew the answer that the quiz was looking for was Rio Grande, but I thought that a much smaller part of the border was formed by the Colorado River near Yuma, Arizona. I checked a map of the US, and this does indeed seem to be the case, which means question 27 actually has two correct answers.
I know Turkiye wants English speakers to call it by its native name (so as to avoid association with a certain bird) but old habits die hard, English speakers will still be calling it Turkey for years to come especially since the name change was rather recent.
@@nicholasharvey1232 I know Turkey wants us to use their the native name for their country but that makes no sense for English speakers. We do not call Spain Espana, Italy Italia or Germany Deutschland and so forth, so why should we not continue to use the English word for this particular country?
Hi, Brian. I'm currently doing my Honors/Bachelor's degree in English Literature. For the past couple of days, I've lost interest in my studies. Even though English is my favorite subject, I can't seem to focus on it. As a teacher, could you please advise me on how to regain my interest in my studies?
Hi Sharmin, great question. My first thought is: what is your long-term goal with studying English literature? To become a teacher? A writer? Or do you have another dream? I find it helpful to think about where/who I want to be in 5/10 years and think about how what I'm doing now (in your case, studying English Literature) will help me get there. I hope that's helpful and good luck!
No 19, the highest capital city in the world could be either Quito, Ecuador or La Paz, Bolivia, it depends on own interpretation, this is due to the fact that Bolivia had 2 capital cities, La Paz and Sucre, Sucre is lower in elevation than Quito, so Quito as the only capital city of Ecuador, sometime also being labeled as the highest capital city in the world, of course it depends on interpretation 🤓
Hi Brian, could you please tell me how I can buy your language course?I've been trying for hours but am unable to make the payment.Which card do I need to purchase this course?
Well I was doing very well at beginning and thru first 30. Then I started getting them wrong. Many I never heard of. I think I got 12 wrong, so that's 38 correct.
38 = B- (the reason why that is disappointing is because I got lucky on a few of them which reduces the number that I actually knew). Back to the drawing board!
Some your questions aren't fair because the highest city of potala in Tibet and mount everest is in nepal.most population city of Delhi India.and your lefted one most important question as what is the most peaceful country on the earth?it is Nepal 🇳🇵.
Great job on finishing the test! And in my opinion, getting a lower score and gaining a lot of new knowledge is at least as valuable (and possibly much more) as getting a higher score and learning very little.
I answered all 49 of the 50 questions correctly, so I got an A+. I am a well-experienced world traveler who has visited 120 countries and all seven continents with my backpacking and bicycling journeys.
As a 17 years old boy I got 44/50 as a Geography Lover 🌏 so I got A Grade 😭👍 Love from India 🇮🇳❤
Suggest you re-title this quiz as Geography quiz for beginners!!
Another excellent quiz. Thanks Brian, keep up the great work. I live in Australia and am 56. I scored 48/50.
Wow great score- and thanks for your comment!

👍. You mean 34 miles= 54 km

Really enjoy the quizzes.
Suggestion: for those of us who listen while driving, if you spoke the answer it would help me keep my eyes on the road.

41 right. Lots of tricky questions mixed in with easy ones. I can't believe I missed the memo about Indiana overtaking China in population!
I always search for geography quizzes since I love this subject so much :)
Good job Brian❤❤
Keep up the good work 🎉

33/50. Could've been better, so I guess I have some geography learning to do.

There are 2 Cristo(s) Redentore(s). One in Brazil and another one in Portugal.
I guess they are like Lady Liberties, they are all over the place (NYC, Paris and, obviously, Colmar) 😊
@@user-zw6pn3ql7y Why Colmar?

Thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed the quiz!
Good mix of difficulty levels. I thought initially it was going to be too easy. Ended with 45/50. 55 years old in Australia.
Thanks for your feedback, and nice score!

Haha thanks, Daniel!
Thank you Brian.❤ Perhaps one small correction, its nowadays Turkiye not Turkey.

Got 48/50. I cant believe I failed how many oceans are there in the world.
No. 18 - I was taught in school the are four. Then I read there's something called the Southern Ocean...
Me too
This is a fair point. As of 2024, almost all countries recognize 5 oceans- but the Southern Ocean is a fairly recent addition to the list.
Live In Australia, can definitely vouch there is the Great Southern Ocean.
It’s on many maps.
I'm in NZ, the Southern Ocean is alive and well. Yes, it's a more recent addition to the long term four we were taught as children.
It is just the southernmost ends of the Atlantic Pacific and Indian oceans
44 here which included some lucky guesses. I wonder how most people went especially by nationality?
Sorry I only managed 46 from 50 will try better next time. Thanks for the interesting quiz though.😊
Thank you Brian. ❤ 2:03
I didn’t keep score, but I did a lot better than I thought I would. Fun quiz!
Thanks Karen, and I'm glad you liked it!
I missed one. Where was the Atacama Desert located. I picked Peru instead of Chile. At least I was close.
It would be great if you make a podcast to teach english 🥺
44/50 I enjoyed the quiz. Cheryl Wagner
48/50. Good quiz, thanks. 🇬🇧👍

If you come from Muscogee some of these might present a bit of a challenge.
Thank you for the video ❤😊

I managed to get 48. I was uncertain however about 4 or so of my correct answers.
Wow, amazing Bjorn!

I'd be interested in seeing how well DJT would do with this quiz. Don't think Harris would do much better.....nor Dirk Diggler.

No. 17 is incorrect. Answer is Cape Agulhas.
I'm going to get out some Geography books. I failed miserably.
I got 35. I missed 3 questions about the US. There was too many questions about US, I need to live there to answer all of them or study US a lot
That's a good score, nice work!
I got 48/50 but I could’ve done better, didn’t know that the Chinese youn was also called Renmenbi and chose yen 😰
Please, check question 11 : singular or plural ?
Just one error! Geography has always been one of my areas of interest.
Wow, really nice!
4 oceans.
Although one can argue there’s just one big ocean.
I think the so-called “Southern Ocean” is d*mb. Like where are its boundaries?
True. Yeah, does it go all the way around Antartica? Is there a giant lake in center of Antartica?
40/50 could've better but been studying geography lately so eh
38 = B-
