People can say what they want about Gib, but I'll just say that the performance Jarvis had against BDave made Gib's win look 10x better. The guy deserves much more credit than he gets; the fact that he had the Boxing IQ and the strategy to prevent Jarvis from doing any of what he did to BDave is super impressive.

@jakesghost5267 He still did better than both Nich and Alex in the tag team match. Alex has had multiple wins and many people rated Nich for his performance against Jay Swingler. Jarvis simply turned Bdave into a punching bag in the same way Gib did so against Taylor Holder back in 2021.

I think the Joe Weller vs Ethan Payne storyline could be a bit of a saving grace for influencer boxing. I think the showmanship of Joe making it very WWE esc, will inspire other influencers to sell there fights better. Also a big storyline like that opens up doors for other storylines and for big fights on the card, it just needs to be played right. My advice is keep The likes of AT away from influencers as he is making it a bit stale, with having that level of experience over everyone else, he’s almost become a gatekeeper at that level.
I just don't like that it's such a mismatch. Storyline wise great, boxing wise it shouldn't even be a match. You're talking about a guy with multiple fights and years of training on and off in boxing vs a guy who just got off being fat and has never thrown a punch in his life. Ethan is a dad now he shouldn't even think about getting in the ring, especially against someone with some experience. If he was to get in the ring, start off with someone else with no experience first
@@codyjohnson6427 I do see what your saying, but Joe Weller has only had 3 boxing matches if you count the Theo baker and the Jake Paul fights that was more like a spar. I’m pretty sure Ethan was dabbling in boxing on his weight loss journey and still does the odd session on the bag. I think as a grown man it’s a bucket list for him and he make his own choices if he feels confident enough let him give a go, I don’t think Joe is experienced enough or well trained enough to do that much damage.
@@samjason7073 nah. You are severely underestimating the experience of boxing and getting punched in the face in front of thousands of people. Just that one ksi fight alone is more experience than most amateur boxers get, and most amateur boxers can beat a guy who never boxed in their life. Whether Ethan actually does it or not is up to him, but in my eyes it's a severe mismatch.
Using boxing as training and training for boxing are two completely different things by the way. So whether Ethan punched a punching bag to lose weight doesn't matter since he doesn't have the fighting IQ that you gain by actually being in the ring. I'll tell ya, even if Weller has made zero improvements since the ksi fight (which is super unlikely), that version of Weller would still beat a guy who has never trained for a boxing match before. I think the best move for both guys is for Weller to fight a guy like swarmz who can defend himself in the ring but is beatable for his first fight back, and Ethan to fight another first time boxer

@@codyjohnson6427 I do think you are severely overestimating the experience of Joe Weller. He has been in front of thousands of people and he was scared to throw a punch. There are plenty of people who enter amateurs and pro boxing later and fight people with more experience than them and are better fighters. Obviously these are pros but look at the likes of people like sonny liston, rocky marciano, who started boxing after 15 years old, they fought people with much more experience at a young age and won without much fighting experience.
Should joe be fighting someone more like Swarmz, yes potentially. But if you look at your way, Swarmz has way more experience than Joe by having more fights in front of crowds, so is that not a mismatch? Joe has had one fight in front of crowds, it’s not that deep he is not that experienced and did absolutely no damage in his fight what so ever.
Love wade, but he just doesnt get the history of how uncomfortable gib vs ksi would be. He understands it on paper, but doesn’t understand how it actually feels for the folk whove been around and invested since the beginning
While he is not saying anything, Gib is collecting clips for his next promo video. Keeping his mouth shut while keeping an eye on what others are saying. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and possible even the cheque a little more lucrative. Guys like Papi and Slim need dance partners or they'll have to go in against someone from MMA/retired older boxers who might still be dangerous for them but won't generate good money. Gib knows they need him to keep the circle revolving IF noone else shows up as Kenny, Papi and Slim can only fight each other so many times before it's boring. Even if you add Jarvis in, some of those fights have already happened. The only intrigues left are Gib vs Kenny/Papi/Slim or Jarvis vs Slim once Jarvis has one or two more fights.

If Joe Weller can come back into the scene with a bang, maybe start with and beat Behzinga, move onto someone like Jarvis, then we can talk about a fight with Gib, which was initially one of the next fights to be made before Misfits began.
I feel like influencer boxing is coming to an end and honestly the only fight I care about at this point is ksi vs Jake Paul and that’s not looking good.
Misfits is a long term thing, they've got long term broadcast deals and a shitload of money invested. They're not gonna shut that down just cause a few people retired... it's always been known ever since his comeback that KSI was in this for Jake Paul and that's it.. yes he toyed with the idea of retiring after Tommy I think as more of a jab at Jake than anything, and who knows what his future holds atm but my point is he was always gonna be done at some point. They didn't set it up to get Logan, his future has been so up in the air because of WWE. Same with Gib. Yes, the main stars are gone or going (we're not 100% certain on KSI & Gib) and it's not exactly the same. But there are those guys that people will watch (Papi, Slim and a few others) and that's what Misfits will rely on in future. That was always the idea

It really all depends on his thoughts and feelings after going to Mecca. On Twitter, Leon said that it changed his vision on life which it always does. He's devoted to Islam and understands that there's so much more to life than boxing (which has been his entire life since the Jake fight)... I don't think he's done, but there's a real chance he takes a long break and lets the scene do its thing, and if theres a fight that he loves, then he'll come back.

It’s not about spoiling dawg, it’s the fact that gib would obviously accept the bigger offer. As a fighter it’s not his responsibility to watch the financial side of the promotions he’s fighting on. Only reason I see him not fighting on misfits isnt just because he’d be getting paid less but the fact that they disrespected him during talks before kingpyn. Would just kind of be a slap in the face to start fighting for them when he didn’t even go to finish his business w kingpyn.

I think the biggest issue for Gib is his beef against misfits. Now that there's no Kingpyn, no social gloves, and the only influencer promotion still standing is Misfits, Gib would've to swallow his pride and ask to be signed by them after he declined every offer by them and spit on his contract.
