This game will bring a bit of sadness to me. This was my late mothers last every game she saw at the valley. A life long supporter who first ever game was in 1957. Was there on the exile years. Sadly she lost her battle with cancer aged 57 in 2003. It brought a lot of happiness for her to see Charlton go toe to toe with the greatest teams.
It's one of those 'I was there' games - United thought they had the game won, but we didn't give up and got a more than a well deserved point. At the end of the match Sir Alec strood purposely towards the Charlton dug out with his arm fully extended to shake hands with Curbs - he knew they had got away with one. His post match comment 'Football - bloody hell!' told the story.
Great days. My cousins used to go with my uncle who was the real fulcrum of the family supporters. He sadly passed away about five years ago, but when I watch this I can still think of them all there going crazy when Robinson equalised.
Remember the game very well, remember thinking after the Giggs effort from the halfway line if they where gonna go 2-1 up I’d rather it’d have been that effort than Solskjaers rebound. Loved it down there then, so much passion on and off the pitch, atmosphere seemed to flatten out as the covered end got built up.
Just been to our accademy,, liverpools,,looks like Jordan ibe is on his way to Charlton,on loan,,just to say what a player yous will be gettin, Still only a boy,,but worth the money to warch him,,@Whataplayer.,,ynwa.
despite charlton's extremely horrible and completely worthless goalkeeper, they should have always won this game, as they should have scored multiple goals early on instead of just only once, chances scandalously wasted

I hope dearly your mother smiles down from heaven during all home matches!
She's had her ashed scattered at the Valley so she would never leave or miss a home game
Always watch this match when I'm having a crap day. One of the finest ever. COYA
13 years ago? I remember this game like it was yesterday. An absolute classic.
It's incredible how far Charlton have sunk. This year they were in serious danger of getting relegated to the 4th tier.
That's 2 years ago, you could be returning to the prem now
As an Oldham Athletic fan I feel you. We went from premier league founders to battling league 2 relegation. It's horrible.
