I recently quit Starbucks after 3 years of working there. Best decision I’ve ever made. Management needs work and they need major training/more qualifications. Amazing partners but terrible managers!!

I so agree with this. Sometimes some people aren’t cut out to be managers, more qualifications are definitely needed 🙃

I second this. I work at sbux rn and i’m experiencing the same problem with a terrible GM, he was an outside hire🙃

Even the shift supervisor position needs to add more qualifications. This SS i worked with said she only became a supervisor because it was a new store and they just needed someone to be a supervisor so they asked her. I recently quit because of that SS and my managers rude behavior towards me.

Honestly! I miss the first manager I had at my store. Management changed & I was forced out. Jokes on her though; I’m a store manager for Dunkin’ now. 🤣

After almost 2 years of working at my Starbucks we are finally getting a new manager!! I can definitely say management is the big key in how a store goes! I love my coworkers!

Yea my husband worked at Starbucks for 5 years before he left. He had an amazing team and manger though, everyone was in there mid 20s. He really luck out. Some of his co workers are still friends with him today. Everything he learned at Starbucks helped him get his job today. He works for a call center.

i transferred to a new store in march of this year because of horrible management. some people really aren’t meant to be managers and what’s worst is gm’s or dm’s not believing you or saying that we take things too personal.

How did you transfer ? I'm having problems with my supervisor/Barista's and want to transfer immediately. I literally don't want to work with them anymore. Am i able to just transfer if i find a store that's willing to take me ? The one i got hired is far from where i live anyways and i didn't want to work that one since its extremely busy all the time also

I really liked the people I was working with but I really felt the Starbucks treats you like an employee instead of a human and the substitute manager was still new and while nice definitely had that ideal too... senior year of high school and after not seeing my friends in over a year I had a chance at a senior event and I got separated because it wasn’t a good enough excuse and no one could cover me cuz no one wants or knows how to really close. I really felt hurt after!

I’m quitting tomorrow. My boss told me my new pay rate is going to be 15.50 and i literally cried. Ive been a partner for 3 years guys and I’m still at minimum wage. I really love my Starbucks everyone i work with is really great but my new manager sucks and I moved further from my store like 45 minutes away and its just not worth it. I’m just so over it lol so full time doordashing and shipped wish me luck guys.

I just quit Starbucks about a week ago after 3.5 years. The first couple months were great it till I was working 40hrs a week. But the best part was one day I would work 2-10 then had to come in at 5am the next day :) that’s normal. Then get berated when i want to cut my hours. Constant drama feels like your in high school again. And I’m not sure about others areas but mine every time someone had a problem the the GM you’d have to go to the supervisor and they were besties so now they both hate you and now get berated by both of them . Best decision I’ve ever did was leave.

AHAHAHAHA yeahhhh it's be like that at pretty much every store. The manager and, if your store has one (all the busy ones that are actually making the company any $$$ do), the assistant manager are always both bffs. COINCIDENCE???? Soo if one of them randomly decides they don't like you (probably because they asked you to do a bullshit task or something they could've done themselves while you were also drowning in drinks while having 10 customers staring at you like a hawk and you told them to hold on or god forbid said no) then the next day the other one HATES you :) and they will do everything they can to get rid of you and then act all shocked when you decide to quit!

I started working at Starbucks in the beginning of June. There are pros and cons to working here. But, this job isn't good for those who need enough money to live. I use to work at a smaller coffee place and they gave me really good hours, good pay, and I got overtime. But at Starbucks, oh there is no such thing as getting a lot of hours or getting overtime. I got yelled at because I stayed 5 minutes past my clock out time. I also only get 20hrs a week and that's not enough for me.
I say working at Starbucks of course is good for those who just need a small job to earn a bit of money for the time being. I mean I really like the benefits but I don't think I'll be here for much longer. I feel bad because I'm so new yet I'm leaving so soon but I got bills to pay 😬

I got fired from Starbucks, sadly because people complain about to hr about some comments i made to them. I'm a very bubbly person, I thought I was being nice and giving them compliments. But instead of going to me and telling they didn't like what I said to them, they complained and got me fired.

Yeah I ended up putting in my two week notice, like I came to work and sure, learn- but I also learned from my experience in like less than two months of working that I am just easily stressed tf out and that I've got a selective memory problem- and they want to put me at bar sometime soon. Doesn't help that I did say I have a flexible schedule but I didn't sign up to have literally all my time I need to work on streaming stuff and whatnot taken away. Oh, my manager (and this should be her responsibility since she's the one planning everything out and has everyone's number) has been pretty bad about me trying to get any day off that I need. I.E. I'm supposed to have a day to my family for my Grandfather's birthday and we were supposed to have a mass on top of going to the cemetery (as he passed away from COVID just before I started working for SBUX) and she literally did not care. Like yeah, I made friends, which I've needed for a whole year, but it is just not worth stressing myself out since I've already got a lot of internal conflicts going on

I work in a Starbucks inside a Safeway grocery store I FUCKING HATE IT my manager (new manager) is so petty she’s so annoying and all she does it start shit. She always micro manage me. She then told me to stop doing her job.I told her that she don’t know how to do it. It’s just toxic

  • @mavscupoftea
    @mavscupoftea 3 роки тому +4

Yeah it depends on the management and people you work with .. I work in the deli but every time I see Starbucks inside the store seems like an easier job compared to deli, after I watched your Video it can be also stressful and toxic working environment too if people you work with or either management treated you like unappreciated and lacking human skills.

I feel so bad hearing about peoples horror stories about Starbucks because as a newer barista (about 3 months) I haven’t had many bad things to say like yeah there are some meaner people I work with but my manager is great he pretty much always says yes to time off and admits when he makes mistakes and he cares about us, for example a shift supervisor at my store was going through a hard time and he was always checking in and making sure she was okay. I didn’t even think he liked me but I had my first day on solo bar and I was killing it and he complimented me when he got off work and I knew that I was appreciated that day. We all did a survey about if we’re happy with the hours or if we want more and I had just turned 18 and it was summer so obviously I said I wanted to work more hours and he not only scheduled me more often but also texts me and asks me to come in on my off days which would be a bad thing if I was working long weeks but I only get 23-28 hours a week and I want more🤣 also most of the staff is so nice and wants to see you succeed so that’s cool. There is this one shift who always will stick up for everyone and always knows how to handle situations. Not every Starbucks is bad you just have to find a good one (we have another Starbucks in town that the shifts are really mean and don’t care about your mental health) also I don’t consider Starbucks in a store a real Starbucks they don’t have any benefits and are basically just rip offs in my mind…

omg yes girl!! recently i expressed to my manager that I am in a really bad mental state and she said that i still have responsibilities and then wanted me to take on EXTRA stuff that i wasn’t being paid for. I put in my availability to monday tuesday and wednesday’s off bc of my mental health and she guilt tripped me into not taking those days off :/ i really really needed them though so i’m still in a really bad place. My manager shows up late EVERYDAY and doesn’t do anything, two days ago i was feeling so sick and i threw up and she told me to go tell my shift bc she wasn’t gonna do anything about it :/ i really want to quit but i need a back up job 😭

I worked for Starbucks 3 years ago. Before I left, I told my manager I was suicidal and needed to check myself in. She asked if I could wait three days.
In my personal opinion, do NOT let your mental health get to that point. Leave sooner rather than later- there are other opportunities out there that I am sure you will succeed at

The biggest problem in Starbucks is that they hire great partners, but then stress too much management. As manager at Starbucks I can tell you, managers gets TOO MUCH job to do + work at the bar and trust me, it's REALLY stressful. I still think your manager was awful, but since it's not the only story that I heard, I think my explanation is the main reasons why Starbucks management sucks. I try my best, but some days are really tough! I almost cried at the desk couple of times...
