    How did you spend the longest day of the year? Miles Daisher spent the extra hours of daylight on the summer solstice throwing himself off a bridge - 63 times, to be exact. The feat earned him the record for the most unassisted BASE jumps in 24 hours. A BASE jump is parachuting or wingsuit flying from a fixed object - the acronym BASE stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: building, antenna, span, and Earth (cliff). An unassisted BASE jump means that the jumper cannot utilize an outside source (like an elevator or crane) to return to the jump point - So Miles had to hike to the top for EVERY jump.
    Daisher originally set the record in 2005 with 57 jumps, and his record stood until 2016, when Dan Weiland jumped 61 times. In addition to now holding the 24-hour unassisted record, Daisher also holds the unofficial record for most BASE jumps ever, having jumped 4,520 times in his lifetime.

    Jonathan Cox just beat this record yesterday (September 16, 2023) with 102 jumps at the same bridge. Absolute machine of a man. Unbelievable determination and stamina

    I've found also info on guinnessworldrecords website that DAN SCHILLING has done 201 jumps in 24 hours in 2006 - so how it is? is it world record or this 201? or it's just another categories...?

    • @matyasmatepeter
      @matyasmatepeter 3 роки тому +1

      Miles has done it "human powered" he climbed up then jumped 63 times in 24 hours, Dan Schilling has done the 201 jumps using a crane overhanging the bridge so he got a ride up each time.

      luwn00bz well the biggest help is letting someone else pack your canopy, but I don't think they were to strict with that one.

    the equivalent of climbing mt Everest in a day lol yeah sure & then climbing it 62 times yea

    • @gnarwhalnoah
      @gnarwhalnoah 7 років тому +22

      Jordan Richardson they meant in total. if the climb is 500 feet and he does it 60 times, that's 30000 feet. Mr Everest is 29000 in elevation above sea level, so he is in effect climbing mount Everest in terms of total elevation gained
